Maggie's son Hershel is kidnapped during a raid, and a familiar trait about the kidnappers leads Maggie to search out Negan for help. Their mission takes them to the isolated island of Manhattan; cut off by the military in the early days of the zombie apocalypse, it is now home to several million of the dead.
