About Me

I am a 42 year old single mother who was born and raised in the metro Atlanta area. I consider myself a lifelong fangirl, although I have only fully indulged that aspect of my personality in the past 15 years or so, as my exposure to the internet has opened up the fandom world to me in ways I never had access to before. Harry Potter has been my primary fandom since I was introduced to it in 2005; my other current interests include – but are not limited to – both the MCU and DCCU (films and TV shows), Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead/Fear the Walking Dead, American Gods, Into the Badlands, The Originals, Orphan Black, Stranger Things, Outlander, and Supernatural.
I relish in any opportunity I am given to express my love (and sometimes hate) for TV shows, movies and books, mainly in the science fiction/fantasy genre. As such, I have had the opportunity to write/blog for a number of different online outlets over the past few years. I am a former Examiner, having contributed to the Sci-Fi TV and Movies in Atlanta and Atlanta Geek Culture blogs (2011-2014); I am also the former “Harry Potter Blogger” for Hollywood News (2010-2011). I am currently one of the co-hosts for the Sci-Fi Party Line podcast, and a contributor to its Dragon Con blog feed.
Past Favorites: Stargate SG-1, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dark Angel, The Tudors, Caprica, 24, V: The Series, Camelot, Dracula, True Blood, Being Human (US), The Vampire Diaries, Sleepy Hollow (pre-Season 4), and Salem.

My blogs/articles can be found in several places on the web:

Bringing smiles and charm to the anticipation of the upcoming “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” movie, singer-songwriter David Ippolito celebrates the latest Hogwarts film with an all-out fun, feel-good music video, featuring JC Hall as “the Harry Potter Fan.”

  3. Hi Hanako

I am the fetsival director for the Rob Knox Film Festival 2011. I know you covered a story about Rob’s dad Colin giving a talk at a prison and showing the film Cold Kiss, so you will know that Rob played Marcus Belby in Harry Potter and the Half Blood prince.
The Rob Knox Film festival is entering its third year. Last year we had entries from US including the winner of best feature “Children of Providence” by Gary Shore.

Please let me know if you would like me to send you our press releases.

    regards

    Mick

  4. Have you heard of A Very Potter Musical yet? It’s a must see for fans of the Harry Potter books. If you haven’t you should search A Very Potter Musical Act 1 Part 1 on YouTube. If you have, then awesome 🙂 I happened to come across your blog and I was just wondering.

  5. Hi Hanako,

I work for the Warner Bros. online outreach team and would love to speak with you about possible DVD/Blu-ray review opportunities. Please email if you’re interested in exploring this opportunity.
