Hanako's panels

Thursday, Aug. 31 @ 8:30 p.m. - Supernatural Showdown: Battle of the Later Seasons (Westin, Chastain 1-2)
Our panelists will defend why their favorite season of Supernatural, 11-15, is the best, & the audience will weigh in on whose argument is most convincing.

Friday, Sept. 1 @ 11:30am – Superheroes That Didn’t Fly (Marriott M301)

With the popularity of superheroes, we've been offered up many variations. Some caught our attention (The Boys and Umbrella Academy), and some failed (Gifted, The Imperfects, Jupiter's Legacy). What makes a good hero series - no matter from where - and what doesn't? (MODERATOR)

Friday, Sept. 1 @ 1:00pm – Quantumania: Ant-Man and Moving Phase V Forward (Marriott M302-M303)

The MCU reached into a 'new' dimension as Ant-Man and Wasp, and family, get pulled into the Quantum Realm, only to find the enigmatic Kang the Conqueror, revealed or transformed by changes of the time line, this epic installment took us to a very strange new world. The question is, was it worth it? (MODERATOR)

Friday, Sept. 1 @ 5:30pm - How to Deal with Pop Culture Critics (Marriott M301)

Whatever your passion, somebody has to knock it. The jerk at work, or Martin Scorsese, so rather than just be rude or be annoyed, we'll look at the best ways to respond to those people when they belittle something we love. (MODERATOR)

Friday, Sept. 1 @ 7:00pm - AMCs Immortal Universe (Westin, Peachtree 1-2)

Join the conversation about AMC’s Anne Rice TV universe! The panelists will share their favorite moments and theories with fellow fans. Don’t miss this opportunity to delve into the mystical world of vampires and witches.

Saturday, Sept. 2 @ 10:00pm – The Boys: Homelander vs. Billy Butcher (Marriott M301)

Let's do some deep dives into the perceived psyches of Butcher and the ultimate 'hero', Homelander. We'll look at each and compare the good and bad in them and how they got that way and how they work as foils for each other.  (MODERATOR)

Saturday, Sept. 2 @ 2:30pm – Through the Stones: The Outlander Series Fan Panel *Spoiler Warning*

This bestselling Outlander series is even more superb as a popular STARZ show. It takes Claire Randall from the 1940s back in time into Scottish conflicts, Jacobite uprisings, and American colonies as history unfolds before our eyes. The fans discuss the show and what makes it all so bonny.

Saturday, Sept. 2 @ 4:00pm – The Walking Dead: Impact on and Contribution to the Post-Apocalyptic Genre (Westin Chastain H)

The Walking Dead began as a comic, and 20 years later it has expanded into multiple hit TV series, games, and more. Panelists explore where it all began and how the world is not only still thriving all these years later, but how it has helped shape the genre as a whole.

Sunday, Sept. 3 @ 10:00am – YA Page to Screen (Marriott A707)

You just found out your favorite book is coming to the big screen. You’re both excited and anxious. Past experiences – from bad casting to leaving out essential plot details – are enough to make us all more than a little nervous. Is the book almost always better than its film or show?

Sunday, Sept. 3 @ 4:00pm – Every ‘Verse, Every Network, All at Once or…How to Keep Up… (Marriott M301)

As more properties become multi-platform and multi-versal, how do you keep up with the sheer volume of new material? How do you find time to watch all the shows and movies for multiple properties without missing out or burning out? Let alone catching up! Let’s talk strategies.

Monday, Sept. 4 @ 2:30pm – Guardians: Rocket’s Story (Marriott M302-M303)

He’d tell you straight out that he’s the hero – well okay, the anti-her of the Guardians Trilogy. We’ll look over the trilogy and consider whether or not Rocket really is the protagonists of the whole thing. Goot would likely agree, but Quill, nah…What’s your take on it?

Anthony's panels

Friday, Sept. 1 @ 11:30am – Superheroes That Didn’t Fly (Marriott M301)

With the popularity of superheroes, we've been offered up many variations. Some caught our attention (The Boys and Umbrella Academy), and some failed (Gifted, The Imperfects, Jupiter's Legacy). What makes a good hero series - no matter from where - and what doesn't?

Friday, Sept. 1 @ 1:00pm – The Big Door Prize: What Does Your Card Say? (Marriott M301)

Apple+ strikes again. A strange blue ‘Morpho’ machine shows up in a small store in Deerfield and promises to give the citizens of their town their ‘true potential’. What evolves is some wonderful storytelling about ate and the impact of our choices on our lives and those around us.

Friday, Sept. 1 @ 2:30pm – Quantum Leap: The Leap Forward (Marriott M302-M303)

Rebooting a much-loved TV series for a new generation is fraught with peril; for every Battlestar Galactica, there is another failure. This time, we have more of an ensemble than a pairing. How does the new QL compare to its predecessor, and just what is going on with all the Sam references?

Saturday, Sept. 2 @ 5:30pm – Kindred: Twin Lives (Marriott M301)

Ostensibly based on the Octavia Butler novel, this series took its balancing act out and struggled on and off. While praise was often heaped on its lead, it failed to catch on and got some strong reactions. What did you think of this approach and its success or failures?

Monday, Sept. 4 @ 1:00pm – Blue Beetle Emerges (Marriott M302-M303)

Identified as the first film of the new DCU, we meet Jaime Reyes, who is chosen by an alien symbiote to bind and provides him with a handy exosuit with some nifty powers. His family gets brought along for the ride as Susan Sarandon’s Victoria Kord. Just what does Khaji-Da have planned? *Spoilers*

Michael's panels

Thursday, Aug. 31 @ 8:30 p.m. - Supernatural Showdown: Battle of the Later Seasons (Westin, Chastain 1-2)
Our panelists will defend why their favorite season of Supernatural, 11-15, is the best, & the audience will weigh in on whose argument is most convincing.

Friday, Sept.

Friday, Sept. 1 @ 7:00pm – Doom Patrol: Always Not So Normal (Marriott M301)

So many choices on the Doom Patrol team – leadership choice, path choices, and then there’s the butts. Yep, they’re back and meaner than ever. Struck by the merger of Warner/HBO & Discover, the team’s left up in the air with only the Red to show for it. A look back, and to what might have been.

Friday, Sept. 1 @ 11:30pm – Sex Education (Hilton Galleria 5)

This series about an underground sex therapy clinic at a school has blasted onto our screens and the awards circuit. It also introduced us to Ncuti Gatwa, who will grace our screens later this year at the Fifteenth Doctor. Before that happens, we’ll talk about his performance (and everyone else’s).

Saturday, Sept. 2 @2:30pm – The Reality of Law and Superheroes (Marriott M301)

The thin line between law, justice, and vigilantism is almost invisible in her media. Out panel of fans and experts will consider how a hero can stand in the face of law enforcement and our legal system – never mind how it would handle a case against a villain!

Saturday, Sept. 2 @ 8:30pm – The Nevers: Now Told (Marriott M301)

The final half of the Nevers finally found its way to us. This Joss Whedon steampunk Victorian tale of people with powers was the subject of a fierce bidding war, only to be cancelled halfway through its first season. Was it a victim of corporate restructuring or it’s creator’s fall from grace?

Monday, Sept. 4 @ 10:00am – Carnival Row: A Sparas Among Us (Marriott M301)

A creature is hunting humans in the Burgue, but there is a backlash to the Fae. We got to see more of the world as Imogen and Agreus travel to the Pact, and get introduced to a different way of thinking. Tirnanoc, though, is ever in the hearts of the Fae, and as this tale wraps up, we get to return.
