Fandom Hybrid Podcast nominated for Black Podcasting Awards

It is with great pleasure that we are pleased to announce that the Fandom Hybrid Podcast has been nominated in two categories for the 2024 Black Podcasting Awards!

The nominations are for Best Hosting Team (Hanako, Kacey, and Michelle for The Ones Who Live, E3), and Best Film and Television Podcast (Hanako, Michael, and Anthony for Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse).

The Black Podcasting Awards were created in 2020 to celebrate, spotlight, and bolster Black podcasts. The BPAwards will recognize nominees and announce the winners in over 30 categories during a live YouTube broadcast on Sunday, September 22 at 3:00pm. We would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to the Black Podcasting Awards for these nominations. We are honored to be recognized for the hard work that we put into our show, and look forward to celebrating with our fellow nominees on September 22.

- The Fandom Hybrid Podcast launched at the end of September 2020 and was born out of a love for talking about all things fandom. As a lifelong fangirl, I relish in any opportunity I am given to express my love (and sometimes dislike) for TV shows, movies and books, mainly in the science fiction, fantasy, and supernatural genres. As such, I have had the opportunity to write/blog for a number of different online outlets over the past few years. I am a former Examiner, having contributed to the Sci-Fi TV and Movies in Atlanta and Atlanta Geek Culture blogs (2011-2014); I was also the “Harry Potter Blogger” for Hollywood News (2010-2011). I have served as a panelist at Dragon Con for the past 10 years, and I have been podcasting for the last 13 years.

Harry Potter has been my primary fandom since I was introduced to it in 2005; my other current interests include - but are not limited to - the MCU (films and TV shows), The Walking Dead Universe, Outlander, AMC's Interview With the Vampire, House of the Dragon, The Umbrella Academy, The Boys, and Stranger Things.

Past Favorites: Supernatural, Stargate SG-1, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dark Angel, The Tudors, Caprica, 24, V: The Series, Camelot, Dracula, True Blood, Being Human (US), The Vampire Diaries Universe, Sleepy Hollow (pre-Season 4), Game of Thrones, Arrow, Into the Badlands, Orphan Black, Salem, and American Gods, A Discovery of Witches, and Shadow and Bone (book and Netflix show).

Favorite novel: The Stand by Stephen King.
