On this episode of the FHP, we discuss the third episode of the Disney + series, Loki. Having followed the Loki variant through a portal, Loki finds himself back at the TVA as the variant tries to locate the Time Keepers. Using a TemPad to escape Judge Renslayer’s attempts to prune them, the Lokis find themselves on planet Lamentis, whose destruction is imminent, judging by the planet that is on a slow collision course. Loki and the variant – who goes by the name Sylvie – learn a little about each other as they attempt to find a way to get off of the planet before it is destroyed. However, things don’t quite go the way they planned, and even as Loki picks up a few new magic tricks, it seems to be not enough to save them. Oh, and Sylvie also divulges to Loki that the TVA is made up of variants that were stolen from the Sacred Timeline. Oops.
On this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, the full crew gets together to talk about the long awaited, highly anticipated theatrical release of Marvel Studio’s Black Widow. In this film (which takes place after the events of Captain America, Civil War), Natasha is on the run after violating the Sokovia Accords. As she goes off the grid for some much needed time for self-reflection, a near-death experience over a mysterious package sends her on a journey to confront the demons of her past, reuniting with her estranged “family” and finally breaking herself free of the burdens that have held her back in her new life.
On this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, we discuss the second episode of the Disney+ series Loki. Loki “joins” the TVA to assist in tracking down the dangerous Loki Variant. The Variant kills another hunt team, but kidnaps the lead hunter. Loki gives clues as to what the Variant is thinking, and figures out how to track them down. In a future pending apocalypse, the Loki Variant reveals itself in a major way. The TVA is compromised, and Loki goes after the Variant, leaving Mobius behind to deal with the fallout of the Variant’s actions.
On this episode of the FHP, we discuss the series premiere of Loki. This series begins during the time heist scene of Avengers: Endgame, where Iron Man, Captain America, and Ant-Man return to Stark Tower after the Battle of New York to try to take the Tesseract. In the ensuing chaos, Loki uses the Tesseract to escape and finds himself confronted by members of the TVA (Time Variance Authority), who arrest him for “disturbing the Sacred Timeline”. This episode introduces us to the TVA and its agents, led by Agent Mobius, who are all on the hunt of a dangerous time variant who is moving through time, killing agents and stealing reset charges. We learn about the history of Time and the Time-Keepers, who oversee all of the timelines and uses the TVA to keep order.
On this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, the crew does a thorough recap and review of the finale (?) episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As Karli and the Flag Smashers move forward with their attack on the GRC, Sam finally picks up the mantle passed down to him from Steve Rogers and goes to deal with the problem as the new Captain America. At Sam’s request, Sharon has joined him and Bucky to try to bring the Flag Smasher problem to a peaceful resolution. However, John Walker’s plans for revenge (and a not-so-unexpected reveal of the Power Broker) causes some complications. However, Sam’s impact as the new Captain America starts to bear some fruit as the series comes to an end. Will we see Sam and Bucky again? The final title card for the series seems to suggest so, as well as an announcement that a new Captain America movie (focusing on Sam’s Cap) is currently in development.
Although the series is over (for now), there will be one more opportunity to discuss the series as a whole. Next month, Hanako will be joining a roundtable discussion of the series that will be hosted by the Marvelous Madames Podcast. The show will also feature Darrell of the Taylor Network of Podcasts, and Charles from the Sci-Fi Party Line Podcast. The episode is scheduled for release on Memorial Day, so we hope you’ll check it out!
On this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, we discuss the penultimate episode (sad face!) of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As John Walker faces the consequences of his actions, Sam does some soul-searching to figure out what he wants his narrative to be – both at home and as a superhero. Bucky rights a wrong and closes one chapter in his life, and when he makes a delivery to Sam, we see some healing and an understanding form between the two formerly reluctant allies. Sharon puts an asset into play that makes us question her motives, and Karli and the Flag Smashers put their plan into motion to stop the GRC from passing the Patch Act. Only one more episode to conclude the series!
On this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, the crew comes together to discuss the shocking events on Episode 4 of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We learn a little about Bucky’s time in Wakanda as Ayo helped him to overcome the Hydra programming that created his Winter Soldier persona. Zemo proves useful as he gains intel on Karli’s next moves. John Walker and Lemar Hoskins are given a painful introduction to the Dora Milaje. A shocking loss at the hands of the Flag Smashers results in a brutal end of an untarnished legacy.
In this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, we discuss the third episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. While John (we are not calling him Captain America!) and Lemar track down a lead on the Flag Smashers, Sam and Bucky pay a visit to Zemo for information on the super soldier serum. During an undercover operation, the guys are rescued by an old ally. The Flag Smashers step up their efforts to help the needy, and Bucky receives a visitor from a far-away land.
On this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, the crew expresses their glee at finally seeing the titular characters onscreen together in the second episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As a new “Captain America” takes the stage, Sam and Bucky team up to try to find out what the Flag Smashers group is up to. Facing a familiar threat, Bucky fills Sam in on a long-held government secret. The guys both struggle with life post-Blip as they figure out how to work together to stop this impending threat, while trying to avoid the elephant-in-the-room, John Walker – the “new Captain America”.
