#TWDdeadcity #thewalkingdead #TWDuniverse We discuss the first episode of the new TWD spinoff series, Dead City, and we have a lot to say!
Maggie's son Hershel is kidnapped during a raid, and a familiar trait about the kidnappers leads Maggie to search out Negan for help. Their mission takes them to the isolated island of Manhattan; cut off by the military in the early days of the zombie apocalypse, it is now home to several million of the dead. Will Maggie be able to move past her hate of Negan in order to save her son?
00:00:25
What's up, hybrids? Welcome back to another episode
00:00:27
of the Phantom Hybrid Podcast. This is Hanukkah and I am here
00:00:30
with Casey and Michelle, and we are discussing the first episode
00:00:34
of the new Walking Dead spinoff. Dead City.
00:00:39
This is the spinoff that follows the shenanigans, I guess you
00:00:43
could say, of Negan and Maggie. Looks like it's taking place
00:00:47
several years down the road, and Casey already has her handle.
00:00:51
What you got to say, Casey? Because they said it's not a
00:00:54
spinoff, it's a continuation of the story.
00:00:58
Okay. It's still to tell you what they
00:01:00
said. It said probably no spinoff.
00:01:02
It's just a continuation, whatever.
00:01:06
It's a spinoff. But, you know, I mean, I get it
00:01:09
because it does have characters that stem from the original.
00:01:14
But I mean, if we call in like, you know, Feel The Walking Dead,
00:01:18
a spinoff, and we called World Beyond a spinoff, even though,
00:01:22
you know, we didn't see a familiar character in that one
00:01:25
until the end of the second season, it's a spinoff.
00:01:28
But I get it. I I mean I get it though I do
00:01:32
get it because it's the it's characters from the main show
00:01:36
like Fear wasn't World Beyond to Morgan and became the Morgan
00:01:42
show and then that became you know a continuation of Morgan
00:01:47
story. But here cuz then Darrell's
00:01:51
would be a continuation too, correct?
00:01:53
Not a spin off. You okay.
00:01:57
But in TV terms, it's a spinoff. It's not the.
00:02:00
So it's a show that stems from the original show.
00:02:03
It's a spinoff. But anyway, semantics aside,
00:02:07
before we get into the like, meat and bones of the
00:02:10
discussion, first thoughts, what did you guys think about the
00:02:13
show? I mean this in the nicest way.
00:02:20
Maggie need to get over herself because I'm so.
00:02:22
Over the angry. You can't help me.
00:02:26
I'm don't. I don't want you don't help me
00:02:29
with little shit, but come help me save my son.
00:02:32
I wish I will leave you here. But I get it.
00:02:37
Like we get it. We get it.
00:02:39
But if you go on to this man for help, take the chip off your
00:02:43
shoulder, even even a little bit, just just like a tinch.
00:02:49
Like it's a little bit too much, You know what I mean?
00:02:52
Because you asked him for help. Right.
00:02:54
It's not like she learned anything.
00:02:56
It feels like she hasn't learned anything or made any adjustments
00:03:01
from that last episode we saw at the Commonwealth.
00:03:05
It's like we're still on the same shit, but we have had
00:03:08
discussions and you have time to process and to make some
00:03:13
adjustments and changes. Like you still don't get that.
00:03:18
If we got to keep telling you again, when y'all kill other
00:03:22
people, that is somebody's family and they can feel the
00:03:25
same way that you're feeling. But we got to keep explaining
00:03:30
that to her. Everyone else get it now.
00:03:32
But she has this explain and I understand because it was
00:03:36
traumatic. I get it.
00:03:38
I got it. I feel the same way.
00:03:40
But just like Casey was saying, but you need his help, so then
00:03:45
you. You you you come in for help?
00:03:48
Yeah. And you know, I thought about
00:03:50
that when it first came on too, because, like you, I was
00:03:55
thinking about the last conversation they had in the
00:03:57
Commonwealth at the end of the main show where you know, she.
00:04:01
I mean, think about it. This is a person that you
00:04:03
trusted to watch your son while you tried to go handle business,
00:04:06
while you tried to go finish what what was started by the
00:04:10
with the reefers. You left your son in his care.
00:04:14
You told him that you were starting to trust him.
00:04:17
You got to the point where you know, Yeah, you didn't forgive
00:04:22
him, but you were at least cordial.
00:04:25
Y'all knew. You knew that at on on some
00:04:28
level, Y'all were on the same page as far as OK, look, yes, he
00:04:35
did some shitty things in the past, but.
00:04:38
He has done what he needed to do to save this group of people who
00:04:41
had every reason to shun him, who had every reason to hate
00:04:45
him. He still did what he needed to
00:04:47
do to save them for whatever reason.
00:04:49
Whether it was his own selfish purposes, you know, his, you
00:04:53
know, trying to redeem himself, or whether it was for him to
00:04:58
show them that he was redeemable.
00:05:00
He was a changed person. OK, y'all got to this point.
00:05:04
You have this discussion. I mean, you basically said,
00:05:08
look, I can't forget what you did.
00:05:10
I can't forgive you. But I know that you're trying
00:05:14
for her to go to that, to the way we see her in this first
00:05:16
episode. It was like, what the hell is
00:05:20
going on? What has happened over the last
00:05:22
few years? But then okay.
00:05:24
So I've watched this episode four Times Now because I will
00:05:28
admit the first episode, the first time I watched it.
00:05:32
I don't think I was really feeling it.
00:05:34
And it was partly because of of Maggie, because I was trying to
00:05:37
figure out like, how is she in this handspace again.
00:05:40
But I think I finally get it. It's like you've gotten to this
00:05:45
point where this person who killed your husband, yes, you're
00:05:49
not forgiving him, but you've kind of, I won't say made peace
00:05:53
with it, but you're at an accepting point.
00:05:58
You know what I'm saying? That this person is a person who
00:06:00
has tried to change, who has tried to, you know, be a better
00:06:04
person, who has apologized to you for what he has done.
00:06:07
You know what I'm saying? And and done all of these things
00:06:10
to make amends. Then here it is, several years
00:06:13
later, you get raided. The person kidnaps your son and
00:06:22
before they raid you, she hears the whistle.
00:06:28
That signified the Saviors, I think for for her being in that
00:06:33
position where you, you have a community, you think you're safe
00:06:36
and then these people come in, they take from you, they have
00:06:40
the same like said, they have the same modus operandi that the
00:06:44
Saviors did way back then. I think it basically just kind
00:06:49
of triggered a lot of things for her and then because we don't
00:06:53
know exactly how the Croat. And Negan fit at this point
00:06:58
because all we know is that he used to be a part of the Saviors
00:07:01
when Negan was in the, you know, when Negan was leading the
00:07:04
Saviors. We don't know how deep he was
00:07:08
into that group. We don't know.
00:07:09
He could have been one of Negan's, you know, we we just
00:07:12
don't know the dynamics yet. But I think in her mind she's
00:07:16
probably thinking, okay, you know what, This person came in
00:07:19
the same way that you came at us.
00:07:21
And I think it just triggers something for her.
00:07:23
It's like okay here is another way where an association with
00:07:27
you has brought havoc into my life.
00:07:30
Like okay I had gotten over or not not gotten over.
00:07:34
I had accepted what you had done to my husband.
00:07:38
I've kind of sort of, like I said, made peace with it.
00:07:41
You, you apologize. We were on this.
00:07:45
You know, this this same page where we were like, OK, you know
00:07:48
what? You and I will never be friends,
00:07:50
we will never be friendly, but we have an understanding towards
00:07:54
each other. OK, now here you are a few years
00:07:57
later, somebody from your crew has once again come into my life
00:08:02
and taken someone from me that I love.
00:08:04
And I just think it just at this point she just pissed like, God
00:08:08
damn it, can I not get away from this man and him wreaking havoc
00:08:12
in my life? So I can not sort of understand?
00:08:15
The way that she is, she's just like pitch.
00:08:17
She's like okay. You know what?
00:08:19
I could have lived the rest of my life.
00:08:21
I could have been cool with me again.
00:08:23
As far as, you know what he did. He apologized.
00:08:26
We're cool. I.
00:08:27
Didn't have to deal. With him.
00:08:30
And then now all of a sudden I need him because I need to
00:08:34
understand who I'm up against when I try to go save my child.
00:08:38
So I once I looked at it a couple of times and I thought
00:08:41
about like that was like I can understand how.
00:08:44
She would be pissed. And then in this episode, you
00:08:48
know, we see that she has nightmares.
00:08:52
But how many times did you rewatch this episode to get to
00:08:55
this point? Probably probably by the second
00:08:58
or third time, Correct. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:09:02
That's what I'm saying. But you know, and and we've
00:09:05
discussed this before, a lot of times when we watch something
00:09:08
for the first time, we're not really watching it to like.
00:09:12
Delve deep into it. You're trying to see what the
00:09:14
story is that they're presenting to you first, and they're always
00:09:17
on the second watch. Now you can start paying
00:09:20
attention to the things you didn't catch the first time
00:09:22
right. I still.
00:09:23
I catch the nuances. And I I I understand, I I
00:09:27
totally there still should be some some character growth in
00:09:33
that and it hasn't been just some.
00:09:38
Yeah, and I get that. And I mean it.
00:09:40
It it's. We're we're we're using.
00:09:44
We keep rehashing and reusing a past trauma and saying that is
00:09:50
the only thing that's pushing her like it.
00:09:52
It has to be we have to do something else.
00:09:54
We can't just rely on that like we OK we don't rely on the fact
00:09:59
that he did this to Glenn, OK we got this.
00:10:02
We we already been through this. For years we have now made
00:10:08
changes, good or bad, about our feelings.
00:10:11
So when we did our panel about Negan, it's like we're going we
00:10:14
starting to change our feelings either one way or the other, or
00:10:19
make adjustments. But it hasn't.
00:10:22
Been there. I don't even care about the
00:10:23
whistling. I know the whistling will bring
00:10:25
back the memories, but this is totally different dude here.
00:10:29
So we got a expectation is everyone is not like Negan.
00:10:33
That just means that he was in Negan's group.
00:10:35
But we still got to figure out who this who this person is.
00:10:37
I was going to call him another name.
00:10:38
We will have to figure out who that person is.
00:10:41
And not keep. Oh, Negan, I hate you, Okay.
00:10:44
I do hate you. However, I understand you did
00:10:47
what you had to do. We get that.
00:10:49
But you won't help me with my son, Okay.
00:10:51
Because it's one of your people. So I do need your information,
00:10:54
your background. I mean, we don't work together.
00:10:57
I still don't like you, but we still don't work together.
00:11:02
But I'm not going to be seeing here every few minutes looking
00:11:04
like I'm about to kill, you know, that's we passed that
00:11:07
point now we passed it. Should be because how old this
00:11:11
person know what Probably 13/14/15.
00:11:14
Yeah, I think it's OK. So I know, Michelle, you weren't
00:11:19
here for the last few episodes of Fear The Walking Dead, but
00:11:22
Casey and I, we we we probably. Drove this pointed to the ground
00:11:27
about the fact that The Walking Dead, I don't know, they did
00:11:30
good with casting for children on the main show, but like Fear
00:11:35
The Walking Dead, the character of Mo, you can't tell me that
00:11:38
was a 8 year old child. Same thing here with Herschel.
00:11:42
Now, I've seen varying reports online because everybody's
00:11:46
trying to figure out where in the timeline this is.
00:11:48
Right, so I've seen some people say that this takes place two
00:11:51
years after the end of the main show.
00:11:53
There is no way in hell because Herschel does not look like 18
00:11:58
year old. On this show, he looks like he's
00:12:01
got to be somewhere 1416 ish. You know, I would give him for
00:12:08
him being the I'd give him being the boy I'll give him.
00:12:12
I'll give him 7th, 7th and 8th grade.
00:12:18
Yeah, no 7/7. I don't even give them 12 and 13
00:12:22
because some of these 12 and 13 year olds look like they 16 and
00:12:25
then 16 year olds look like they 18 in real life.
00:12:29
Yeah, but like when I pull up to when I pulled up, you pull up to
00:12:33
to one of the middle schools around here.
00:12:35
You be like, is that a teacher or a student?
00:12:37
I'm confused. That's true.
00:12:39
That's true, But you're not going to tell me that this is
00:12:42
only two years after? No, no, no.
00:12:44
That I can't go for. Because Herschel in that show
00:12:48
was only around. Eight.
00:12:52
Maybe Now. Maybe.
00:12:54
So I I know the boys have their growth spurts.
00:12:57
They don't have them that early. No, they don't.
00:13:00
No. So, so this has to be maybe 5-6
00:13:05
years. I would, I would say around
00:13:07
that, maybe somewhere around that.
00:13:09
Yeah, and some of the stuff that's happening, I'm like, this
00:13:12
has to be a while later. Because I need to see how the
00:13:16
Commonwealth plays a part. Well, see, that's the thing.
00:13:21
Because I remember towards the end, Maggie did try to go back
00:13:26
and rebuild Hilltop. Now obviously, from what we find
00:13:30
out in this episode, they weren't able to make that work,
00:13:33
so they relocated. My question is Okay.
00:13:35
So let's talk about the logistics of the show.
00:13:38
Okay. In comparisons to The Walking
00:13:41
Dead, since this is a continuation of the story and
00:13:45
not a spinoff. OK, so The Walking Dead
00:13:48
Alexandria was based in Virginia.
00:13:50
We gathered that the Commonwealth may be around Ohio.
00:13:56
I think that was what we were thinking, if I remember
00:13:59
correctly. So my question is 1 if you had
00:14:05
to move the Hilltop from Virginia.
00:14:07
How far out did you go? Like, I don't think like we see
00:14:11
that the new city here is New Babylon and that's kind of sort
00:14:14
of where Maggie's people are in that area because she went, you
00:14:18
know, we saw the city marker when she went to go call when or
00:14:22
when she shot up the flair for her person to come and get
00:14:26
Jenny, who was the girl that Megan is traveling around with.
00:14:29
So my question is, what was it about Hilltop that made the
00:14:35
Croat? Come from Manhattan, in the
00:14:40
state that Manhattan is. You go to the Hilltop to steal
00:14:44
their brand. Like, I understand scavenging,
00:14:46
but it just kind of puts into question, where is this, where
00:14:51
is the new Hilltop located? And again, if that is the case.
00:14:56
Why is Maggie so far from her other people, like we've already
00:15:01
seen what happened the last time you just went off and and left
00:15:05
your people. You lost so many people who were
00:15:08
close to you, like your family, your your closest people to you.
00:15:13
I just don't see how she would once again, especially after
00:15:18
everything they went through with the reapers and with the
00:15:22
Commonwealth, how you just going to go up and relocate.
00:15:26
Again in another state. Because again, coming from New
00:15:30
York to Virginia for some grain, that just doesn't make sense.
00:15:36
Right. And then you're encountering
00:15:38
another system too, like this is outside of the Commonwealth with
00:15:44
it. They have a whole another system
00:15:47
with government, with the sheriff and all that stuff.
00:15:49
So that's I'm like, what? OK, that's all I have to say.
00:15:55
So, and I know it's the first episode, I know they're they're
00:15:57
trying to establish the world and then we'll we'll get deeper
00:16:01
into it and find out more information.
00:16:03
But just from a first watch, it's kind of like, what the hell
00:16:06
is going on? Where is Maggie's new camp
00:16:09
located? Why is she so far from her
00:16:12
people? Are any of our people still with
00:16:15
her or did she leave everybody behind?
00:16:17
Like, okay, if you're telling me again?
00:16:21
That these are the same system, you know, same community, same
00:16:24
people, just in a different location.
00:16:27
So does that mean that Elijah is with you?
00:16:29
Does that mean that Lydia is with you, will be in this
00:16:32
series? You know, I know that those two
00:16:35
were at the premiere and, you know, people ask, they were
00:16:39
like, oh, are they in the show? And somebody was like, no,
00:16:41
they're just supporting, But I was like Lydia and Elijah that
00:16:45
was. Lydia was more so, I guess you
00:16:49
could say Megan's person, because he kind of took to her,
00:16:52
protected her, that sort of thing.
00:16:54
But by the end of the main series, she was with Elijah, and
00:16:57
Elijah was Maggie's person that was from her community.
00:17:01
So I would think that if she moved Hilltop, they would be
00:17:06
with her. That's what I would think.
00:17:08
I don't think they would have stayed in Commonwealth.
00:17:11
But then they were all going to work together though, to rebuild
00:17:14
these communities. That's why I was like, OK, I'm
00:17:17
kind of confused because there's resources there.
00:17:19
We've seen the resources. When you can get an available
00:17:22
hairpiece at any moment, we should be able to rebuild a
00:17:26
community and. Remember, because even remember
00:17:30
when up with Lance. They had brought supplies to
00:17:33
rebuild. Because they had the train
00:17:35
system going and we still don't know anything about the
00:17:37
communities that he was getting that from, which I still suspect
00:17:41
might be CRM related. But anyway, so that was my
00:17:46
question, like why did Maggie move so far away And then to be
00:17:51
in this area New Babylon and OK, let me let me let me say this.
00:17:59
As far as New Babylon, you know, we we find out about this city,
00:18:03
we meet the Marshall for this city and we kind of hear what
00:18:07
they're about. Okay, I'm going to tell you now,
00:18:10
I am not a fan of Pearly Armstrong from the From Jump and
00:18:15
I'm going to tell you why. So you come into this bar
00:18:19
looking for Negan and this is after everything that's happened
00:18:22
at the beginning, which we're we're kind of jumping around,
00:18:24
but you come into this bar looking for Negan.
00:18:28
And the way that you come in, first of all, everybody is
00:18:32
already on edge. When you step into the room.
00:18:35
Then you introduce yourself and you talk about who you are.
00:18:39
You're the Marshal of New Babylon and you're about law and
00:18:43
order. Y'all have these different
00:18:46
rules, and if they don't, follow the rules.
00:18:51
They get this certain type of punishment.
00:18:53
So for Negan, he's looking for Negan.
00:18:55
Negan is a wanted man in this first episode because supposedly
00:19:00
he has killed one of the Marshals and they what?
00:19:03
What is it that Armstrong says? He said for this crime he will
00:19:08
be executed, but not just executed, he will be hung upside
00:19:14
down and split from his groin to his head now.
00:19:22
I had a whole issue with that because here you are in a world
00:19:30
where all the old systems have pretty much been killed.
00:19:33
You know, you're having to start over and this is something that
00:19:37
we talked about with the Commonwealth.
00:19:39
You're bringing back broken procedures, broken policies to
00:19:45
fix something. And it's just like that shit
00:19:49
didn't work in the old world. Why are you bringing it back in
00:19:52
in the new world and not only bringing it back?
00:19:56
Notice that when he talked about Megan and the punishment, he
00:20:00
didn't say he would be tried. He didn't say that he would get
00:20:04
a hearing. He basically said he killed this
00:20:06
marshal and this is what we're going to do to him again.
00:20:11
Why? His kind of had a court.
00:20:14
I mean it. Was a shitty they did.
00:20:17
It was unfair. And if they had to put somebody
00:20:21
to death, they were going to do it in a humane way.
00:20:24
The fact that you were talking about hanging this man upside
00:20:27
down and splitting him in half from growing to head, and you're
00:20:31
talking about it with not necessarily a sense of Glee, but
00:20:36
you are, you are kind of reveling and telling the people
00:20:39
this so that they are scared and they will tell you what you want
00:20:43
to know. What type of person gets off on
00:20:47
that? Kind of, you know, you are part
00:20:50
of a broken system because this is not what law and order should
00:20:54
be. And you know, just some of the
00:20:56
things that he says later on in the episode when he gets to a
00:21:00
point where he's he's looking for Maggie and Negan at because
00:21:06
they've kidnapped one of his little sheriff's deputies or
00:21:09
whatever, whatever you want to call them.
00:21:13
And he's trying to convince Maggie to come out of hiding.
00:21:16
He was like, miss, let me tell you who I am.
00:21:19
My name is Pearly Armstrong. If you haven't deduced by now,
00:21:22
I'm a Marshall. I don't drink.
00:21:24
I don't. What do you say I don't drink, I
00:21:26
don't smoke. Or, you know, I I follow the
00:21:30
like. Basically you're telling us this
00:21:32
stuff as if to say, oh, I'm a good person because I don't do
00:21:37
these things. But what you're telling me.
00:21:42
I don't even know if he was trying to say he was better than
00:21:45
her. He's trying to say that because
00:21:46
he doesn't do these things, he's a good person and she should be
00:21:49
able to trust him. But for for me, looking at this
00:21:55
one, if your introduction to how good of a person is, is that you
00:21:59
don't do these things that quote UN quote other people consider
00:22:02
bad, you're already telling me that you're a judgmental person.
00:22:07
Okay 2. You are a person who don't do
00:22:10
these bad things, but you have no problems.
00:22:14
And taking pleasure and telling people how you're going to
00:22:17
execute a person by splitting him from growing to head, you
00:22:20
have no problems. Push the lady into the You have
00:22:24
no problems pushing a woman into a herd of walkers because she's
00:22:29
not giving you the information you need, or because she runs an
00:22:33
establishment that serves alcohol, that allows gambling
00:22:37
that allows. Prostitution or whatever you
00:22:40
want to call it at this point, you know what I'm saying?
00:22:42
Like you're already condemning people because of what, quote UN
00:22:46
quote, you deem to be acceptable behavior.
00:22:49
And this is what you have made into law again and have a
00:22:52
problem with this type of leadership because this is the
00:22:55
problem with the world we live in now.
00:22:58
This is why it's broken people consistently trying to govern
00:23:02
how other people live, how other people you know.
00:23:05
What other people do with their bodies?
00:23:07
What, like if I want to smoke, If I want to drink, If I want to
00:23:11
go out and fuck every single person I come across?
00:23:14
If it's not hurting you, what business is it of yours?
00:23:20
Especially in a world like this, where there literally is no law.
00:23:24
You get to make your own, you get to make up the rules and
00:23:27
they making up some shitty ones. I want to go back to, I want to
00:23:32
go to the Commonwealth. I'll work, I'll work that out.
00:23:37
Sing you to jail with three hearts of the cot.
00:23:39
Yeah. No before murder.
00:23:43
I'm gonna slam your face into that damn fence and the walkers
00:23:45
eat you or hang hang you in the town square so everybody can see
00:23:50
your body dead and riding in in death.
00:23:54
Right. Like what?
00:23:57
Like and this is the kind of thing that you like you.
00:24:00
Again, you are trying to get people to follow the rules by
00:24:08
putting fear in them. Who else did that, Negan?
00:24:15
I mean, the fact that you even walked into the bar and talked
00:24:18
about what he did to the group, which I'm guessing within the
00:24:23
last years, just from what we've heard of the conversation.
00:24:28
Negan may have had to go back to some of his old ways because he
00:24:32
has other people to take care of.
00:24:34
That's kind of the gist that I got.
00:24:36
So maybe some people are are telling about what he did in the
00:24:44
circle or as we see the Croat was part of his group.
00:24:47
We don't know if the Croat was still with the Saviors at the
00:24:50
time that all this happened. But word has gotten around.
00:24:54
So he's trying to paint Megan as this really bad guy because this
00:24:58
is what he did and This is why we're going to execute him.
00:25:01
But you don't sound like you're any better except for the fact
00:25:05
that you hide behind, quote, UN quote the law.
00:25:10
And we all know how that goes when people hide behind the
00:25:13
badge and make bad decisions or do bad things.
00:25:18
So yeah. Of of this dude at this point.
00:25:23
So I I don't know. And then it's like, OK, first of
00:25:30
all, before we go on the fact that the the woman that he threw
00:25:33
into the crowd, I was surprised to see Michelle heard on this
00:25:37
show. I was like, oh, yeah, OK, this
00:25:39
is cool because I don't know if you know, she's married to
00:25:42
Garrett Dillonhunt who played John Dory Junior.
00:25:47
They've been married, I think 27 years.
00:25:51
So when I saw her, I said oh, OK, so we lost John Dory, but
00:25:56
we're getting his wife as a character.
00:25:57
OK, that's cool for. 5 seconds. I was like OK for. 5.
00:26:03
Seconds I was very excited like OK, we is new character for this
00:26:07
world right? Right.
00:26:10
OK. But I will say this about her
00:26:12
character and these people in this bar so and it's not so
00:26:17
much. When Maggie shows up to the bar
00:26:20
looking for Negan, even though that was a good little part,
00:26:23
because, you know, at the beginning Maggie comes in, she
00:26:28
she, I guess you can say she's kind of being undercover because
00:26:31
she has a different look. She's coming in, you know,
00:26:34
drinking. And I guess she's, she's
00:26:36
supposed to be acting like she's a little bit drunk.
00:26:39
And she tells the bartender, you know, she was like, I'm not in
00:26:43
the right head space because he offers her another drink.
00:26:45
And he was like, what's what's happening?
00:26:47
She said, well, I have a cabin a few miles from here left to go
00:26:51
scavenge. And came back.
00:26:52
And some groaners weren't, first of all, hearing her, you were
00:26:55
groaners. I was like, okay Casey, I think
00:26:59
you're going to have to add groaners to our tshirt.
00:27:03
And carry on and carry on. I still hate carry on.
00:27:07
I'm not using that term. No I don't.
00:27:09
Even know what what they carry on the the, the, the virus.
00:27:13
I never, I never understood. But you know when she's in the
00:27:17
bar and she's she's basically trying to find out information
00:27:22
about Megan and the guy was like, oh, you know you you
00:27:26
happen to you're in luck because we have a guy here who deals
00:27:28
with growners. And she was like, really?
00:27:31
Is he good? He was like, he's the best we
00:27:33
got. And the maggots, like, so does
00:27:35
he live here in the hotel or is he from around here?
00:27:38
I was like, see, this is where you messed up.
00:27:39
You being being Captain Obvious. Now you look as as as as much.
00:27:47
As Maggie's had to go through, and as much as she has had to do
00:27:51
the number of communities she's been through, Maggie should know
00:27:53
better than to ask pointed questions like that.
00:27:56
Like you are making it very obvious that you already know
00:27:59
who you were supposed to be looking for.
00:28:03
I was like, okay, whatever. One too many.
00:28:04
Questions. God damn it.
00:28:06
Too many. Right.
00:28:08
But we do see in this bar scene, Maggie knows how to handle
00:28:10
herself because they do catch her.
00:28:12
She she kind of sneaks off. She finds she just happens to
00:28:17
find the right room that Megan is in.
00:28:20
She sneaks into the hotel room. She grabs a knife off the
00:28:23
dresser, and when she walks towards the bathroom, because
00:28:26
you, you hear the water running. He's in the shower and it looks
00:28:29
like he he's doing this in the shower.
00:28:32
So I don't know if he's like, crying, if he's upset.
00:28:34
We don't know what's going on because this is the first
00:28:36
glimpse we've gotten of Megan. But of course she gets caught.
00:28:40
They take her back. To the bar area.
00:28:43
And Michelle hurts character, you know, she's basically like,
00:28:46
oh, are you here for such and such person, Vasquez?
00:28:50
I think so. She thinks that I guess Maggie
00:28:53
is a spy for maybe a competitor, maybe somebody else who is
00:28:57
trying to shake them down. We really don't know.
00:29:00
But when she gets ready to attack Maggie, you know it's
00:29:04
her. She's got two guys holding
00:29:05
Maggie by each arm. Maggie.
00:29:09
You know, she kind of kicks her boot on the table and she has
00:29:12
this little blade that comes out of her boot.
00:29:14
I was like, oh, that's handy. But she real spy shit.
00:29:19
Real spy shit, yeah. But she basically gets herself
00:29:22
out of that situation. Megan comes in, sees the
00:29:25
scuffle, and I don't know if he actually sees that it's Maggie
00:29:29
at that point. I just think he knows that
00:29:31
somebody was in his room looking for him.
00:29:34
But. What we found out in the episode
00:29:36
later, Maggie has been looking for Negan, and she's not been
00:29:40
making it a secret that she's looking for Megan.
00:29:43
Maybe she hasn't said who she is, but like when the when the
00:29:48
Armstrong and his people come in, the young guy who's with
00:29:51
him, when they find out that, you know, Negan is gone, a woman
00:29:55
took him. He was like, is this the same
00:29:57
woman that's been looking for him up and down the coast and
00:29:59
breaking bones in her weight? I was like, oh, OK, so.
00:30:04
Maggie has been on a mission, and that could also have
00:30:08
something to do. He said that because he called
00:30:10
her map. Well, no, that's that's not what
00:30:14
Armstrong said. The other guy, the young guy, he
00:30:18
said it because he was saying it like he was scared, you know, he
00:30:22
was like, oh, is this the same person that's been looking for
00:30:24
him up and down the coast and breaking, breaking bones?
00:30:27
So apparently, like I said, Maggie's been making herself
00:30:29
known like she's been looking for me again.
00:30:32
Either she keeps missing him or people are not telling her and
00:30:35
she's been breaking bones in the process.
00:30:39
Again, you know, we had this conversation.
00:30:42
I did this panel last year about Maggie's kind of descent into
00:30:47
not necessarily a villain, but we do see a darker version of
00:30:50
her character. But when Armstrong answers, you
00:30:58
know, of course this is around the time when.
00:31:01
After he has put the bar owner, you know, to the walkers.
00:31:07
But the thing that was bothering me about that whole scene is
00:31:10
when they realize that the marshals are coming and somebody
00:31:13
comes in and tells her marshals are here and she's like, oh, OK,
00:31:16
everybody clean this up, put this stuff up.
00:31:18
Because again, she's serving alcohol.
00:31:20
They're playing cars, they're gambling.
00:31:22
When Maggie first arrives at the bar, you know, you see two
00:31:25
people who are obviously. Street walkers, skin tray,
00:31:31
whatever you want to call it, whatever they call it in this
00:31:33
particular world, you know, I don't think, I don't think I've
00:31:37
ever heard them use the word prostitute.
00:31:39
So I don't know if that's what they would call it, but
00:31:42
whatever, It's obvious that they are there for sexual pleasure,
00:31:46
you know what I'm saying? And those are all things that
00:31:48
are outlawed in New Babylon. So when he comes in the bar, the
00:31:55
way that everybody is acting. I was like, y'all are
00:31:58
automatically telling this man that y'all are guilty of
00:32:01
something. It may not necessarily be hiding
00:32:05
me again, but the fact that you were sitting at the bar,
00:32:09
nobody's giving him eye contact and y'all are sitting there like
00:32:13
3 people didn't just walk into your bar.
00:32:15
Y'all don't say hey Marshall, how can we help you?
00:32:19
Would you like a drink? I mean I'm sure they had non
00:32:22
alcoholic stuff too, but I mean. You're sitting there avoiding
00:32:27
looking at him, ignoring him. You're already telling every
00:32:31
you're telling everybody by your body language and your behavior
00:32:36
that you were doing something you had no business doing before
00:32:38
this man walked up in the door. Because I'm sorry, me if I'm not
00:32:43
doing anything guilty. I don't care.
00:32:45
Fucking cop Squad could come in. I'm going to ask.
00:32:48
I'm be like, hey, what's going on?
00:32:49
Which I need? Can I help you?
00:32:52
Oh, we're looking for this person.
00:32:54
I don't know who this person is. The fact that he kept saying,
00:32:56
has anybody seen this man? And nobody answered?
00:33:00
Y'all are already telling this man that he has been here,
00:33:04
right? You can just say yes, he was
00:33:06
here. And then some other woman came
00:33:09
and then they disappeared. You could have said that and he
00:33:13
would have been out the door. You could have been like, yeah,
00:33:16
he stopped in here, you know, was here for a couple of days.
00:33:22
Some woman came and grabbed them.
00:33:23
We don't know why y'all could. Have that wouldn't have been a
00:33:27
lie. It wouldn't have been.
00:33:30
I mean, yes, granted, Megan was probably like, like they said,
00:33:33
Megan was there working out clearing the walkers.
00:33:36
But she could have said something like, yeah, we had him
00:33:40
clearing out the walkers, but then when we saw The Wanted
00:33:43
posters, we sent him on his way because we didn't want anything
00:33:46
to have to do with that. You could have said something.
00:33:50
That would have deflected that and not caused the marshals to
00:33:55
do what they ended up doing. That was just like, OK, it's now
00:34:03
at this point, like I said, probably 5-6 years removed from
00:34:08
the main show. So at this point the the
00:34:11
apocalypse, the zombie apocalypse, has been in effect
00:34:14
for roughly 20 years, OK. Somewhere around there, you mean
00:34:21
to tell me y'all didn't grow any common sense during that time.
00:34:26
I mean, seriously, like, she died a pointless death.
00:34:29
She didn't have to die. All you had to do is tell a
00:34:32
little white lie or, you know, kind of something believable.
00:34:37
Yeah. But especially if this man is a
00:34:40
Marshall. He's going, he knows how to read
00:34:42
body language. He knows how to tell when people
00:34:44
are lying to him. He ain't gonna, dummy.
00:34:49
And then, of course, you know, he does find her her map book,
00:34:53
because when Maggie comes in, she's in a she's in a SUV when
00:35:00
Negan runs out of the bar after he sees the scuffle.
00:35:04
There's also a young girl who trips Maggie up and then she
00:35:08
kind of turns and looks at her before she leaves out.
00:35:10
And I was like, who is this kid that's look like him and Andy's
00:35:13
daughter? Plus she too old.
00:35:16
So they are running and Maggie gets into the truck to go pursue
00:35:20
them and one of the guys comes out of the bar and, you know,
00:35:24
tries to take her out of the the truck and she kicks him and her
00:35:28
map book falls out the truck. She, you know, pays no attention
00:35:31
to it or she doesn't see it because she's so focused on
00:35:34
getting to Megan. But when Armstrong finds this
00:35:40
map book, I was sitting there like, now maybe it's because.
00:35:45
I've never. Well, I won't say I've never.
00:35:48
I haven't had to use a physical map book in ages.
00:35:52
You know, we have cell phones, we have GPS.
00:35:56
They don't have this in this time.
00:35:57
So I understand. They got to get like the old,
00:36:01
you know, I don't even remember what you call them.
00:36:04
Things because you don't call them a map.
00:36:06
But what do you call them? It's not an Atlas, It's a what
00:36:09
is it, anyway? It's a Atlas.
00:36:13
Okay. I don't remember.
00:36:15
So look, I just gave my a my a. You made me think like it's not
00:36:19
an A. Yeah, I was thinking that too,
00:36:22
like wait a second. But I remember using those on
00:36:25
trips and stuff. Yeah, I haven't in a long time
00:36:27
because you know, I'm I'm more, I'm more a MapQuest person from
00:36:32
when I started using, you know maps to get to places.
00:36:36
I'm a MapQuest person. I didn't really use the Atlas
00:36:38
growing up. So, but how did you get to
00:36:42
places? Girl.
00:36:44
You should print out the 17 pages the MapQuest gave you for
00:36:47
the before MapQuest. Yeah, I went to Alabama and that
00:36:51
was it. As as a young child, I didn't
00:36:53
really start going anywhere until I until I was in my like
00:36:56
late 20s as far as well. I mean, I would say that too, I
00:37:00
guess, because. I mean, I never was.
00:37:03
We were at passengers, we were kids.
00:37:04
But I just followed along on the map.
00:37:06
Yeah, No. Because I'm sorry, I'm a nerd.
00:37:08
I follow along on the map. That's the thing, because
00:37:10
anywhere that my dad took us, that was a road trip.
00:37:12
He already knew how to get there, so he never used the map
00:37:16
for any of that. No, I mean my parents didn't
00:37:18
either, but I'm just saying I just had the map in the back.
00:37:20
I will just looked at the map that's.
00:37:23
I am the map girl. Please, please and thank you.
00:37:26
Yeah, that was so cool. You go to the gas station we had
00:37:29
and sometimes they'll have free maps.
00:37:30
I'll just grab the map. I would.
00:37:31
I would look at maps then. But of course, like you said,
00:37:34
we're kids. I.
00:37:35
I don't know how to read these things, which is another reason
00:37:38
why I was I was so flabbergasted about Mo being able to read some
00:37:43
stuff in Fear. But anyway, because I don't
00:37:46
think. Have you watched Fear yet,
00:37:47
Michelle? Okay.
00:37:50
So I'm not going to say anything else about fear.
00:37:52
You'll just you'll have to see it and then you'll know what the
00:37:55
conversation is. But anyway, going back to
00:37:56
Maggie. So when when Armstrong picks up
00:38:00
this Atlas, he notices that there's a page missing.
00:38:04
Now if I remember correctly about how to read a a Atlas and
00:38:11
looking at the book, most of the times when you have those pages,
00:38:15
they're numbered and it tells you what.
00:38:18
Area you're looking at on that particular page number.
00:38:22
Now the crazy thing is when he turns to the back to look at the
00:38:25
index, he wasn't looking for the page number, he was going to
00:38:29
alphabetical order. So I don't remember if Atlas is
00:38:32
actually if they're on the page in alphabetical order.
00:38:37
But that wouldn't make sense either because when you look at
00:38:40
him going down the list of the M names to find Manhattan on page
00:38:44
53, all of the other names in front of it.
00:38:48
Were all on different pages. So I was like, how did he know
00:38:51
for sure that that was Manhattan?
00:38:53
Or was that something that like, I'm trying to figure out how he
00:38:57
knew to look for Manhattan? Like unless you are familiar
00:39:01
with that particular Atlas or unless you have heard?
00:39:06
He could have realized like. That.
00:39:10
She's going up the coast, but if you're going up you in Jersey
00:39:15
next, you're going to New York. Right, so just.
00:39:18
The pattern on. The shoreline, you know, going
00:39:21
up. OK.
00:39:23
OK and so. You wouldn't look for Miami do.
00:39:25
We know what state New Babylon is in.
00:39:30
I would assume it's in New Jersey.
00:39:32
OK. That's just me.
00:39:33
Because when it because it looks like once they got to New York,
00:39:36
because me remember even at the beginning she was sitting on the
00:39:38
edge of the shore, right? She's looking across from Jersey
00:39:47
to New York. Okay.
00:39:48
So if that's the case, then it would make sense.
00:39:52
It would make more sense as far as why the Croat ended up in her
00:39:56
area because New Jersey is so close to New York.
00:39:59
But again, then that would beg the question, why is she all the
00:40:04
way to hell in New Jersey when all her people are like in
00:40:07
Virginia, Ohio? Like why is she so far away from
00:40:11
them again? It seems like the people who are
00:40:15
scavenging you going, which I I I guess I understand because
00:40:18
you're going further and further and further out, you know what I
00:40:22
mean? And that's how people keep
00:40:24
running. You would think with all the
00:40:27
scavenging y'all that would have been ran into some of these
00:40:30
other communities at some point. Because that's what happened
00:40:34
when Jesus met Darryl and Rick, you know, they all trying to
00:40:39
scavenge for this fucking truck, you know, and.
00:40:43
But you know, but that's how. Because even here, and he was
00:40:47
like, I'm about to open y'all world.
00:40:49
Like it's more out here. But at some point, well, no
00:40:54
matter where Maggie went to, you're going to run into
00:40:58
somebody. And if she out here making this
00:41:02
name for herself, she going to be the next motherfucker on a
00:41:05
warning poster. And see, I looked it up and they
00:41:08
actually said it is a federation of states.
00:41:12
It's a network of survivor communities throughout New
00:41:15
Jersey and New York. OK, OK.
00:41:22
But still it's like, OK. But not Manhattan, because
00:41:26
Manhattan is by itself. Manhattan is by itself because
00:41:29
when everything went down, they. Bombed all the bridges so nobody
00:41:35
could get off the island, which I was like, that's so fucked up.
00:41:39
But I am not surprised. No, I wouldn't.
00:41:42
Yeah, that would. That would.
00:41:44
As a government worker, that would be my idea too, because.
00:41:48
At at that point, again, just from the information we gathered
00:41:53
from that, it seems like. Back at the beginning, they
00:41:59
probably didn't know that this was something that was
00:42:02
widespread. They probably thought, oh, this
00:42:03
started on Manhattan. That's probably where the most
00:42:06
people were sick. And they thought, OK, if we
00:42:09
could just close off the the island, we can contain it.
00:42:13
You know, I think that was their thing, which like you said, it
00:42:17
does make sense. But at the same time, it's like
00:42:20
you condemned all those people to die.
00:42:25
That's just horrible. That's horrible.
00:42:29
But the other thing, and I know I'm nitpicking about this, so
00:42:35
was New Babylon a thing? A federation of states before
00:42:40
the zombie apocalypse? Or did they find some kind of
00:42:43
factory where they could where they can make city signs during
00:42:47
the zombie apocalypse? Because they have a they have a
00:42:50
whole sign that says New Babylon, Federation of States,
00:42:53
blah blah blah. I was like, where do you get the
00:42:54
sign from? You know there is somebody that
00:42:58
there's the sign. Right.
00:42:59
The sign maker is with the wig maker.
00:43:02
Right. I mean, they have a location,
00:43:05
you just didn't need to know where to go.
00:43:07
Yeah, read the map. I guess because I see 20 years
00:43:10
down the line, y'all still got bullets.
00:43:13
I know it's. So I'm just saying these are the
00:43:18
things that I think of like, OK, 1520 years down the line.
00:43:22
Nobody is manufacturing bullets except for Eugene, and Eugene is
00:43:26
probably out of that business. And he got a baby to raise.
00:43:31
But other people, it's it's not that bad.
00:43:34
I mean, I don't understand why Eugene is the only one who can,
00:43:37
especially if where we were. Because I feel like if any of
00:43:41
those people were from Georgia or the country, y'all should be
00:43:44
able to know how to do that. I'm confused.
00:43:49
You understand what I'm saying. Y'all need to.
00:43:50
I mean, I'm not asking for like certain bullets.
00:43:53
You should be able to do. You should know how to.
00:43:56
Dale should have known how to do bullets.
00:43:59
He look like a dude who hunted in the past.
00:44:01
Like you have an idea where to go, how bullets are made.
00:44:06
I don't find that far off. I think I would.
00:44:08
I would see that being. More of a Merle thing, because
00:44:12
that would seem like he's more handson with the crossbow with.
00:44:17
With the knives. But but Darrell should have
00:44:19
still knew. So Darrell didn't do as much
00:44:23
hunting in the past. No, he did.
00:44:26
That's the thing. Because him and Merle were on
00:44:29
their own a lot. And he he talked about the fact
00:44:31
that they were, they would go and hunt and they would do this
00:44:34
stuff because their dad was never around.
00:44:37
And when he was, he was drunk and he was beating folks.
00:44:39
Their mom obviously wasn't doing much to take care of them.
00:44:43
Darrell talked about. The fact that he was always
00:44:47
hanging around Merle because Merle was the one that looked
00:44:49
out for him and they would go out and hunt and they would do
00:44:52
this right? And Merle did did a a shitty job
00:44:55
because he didn't teach him about bullets.
00:44:57
All right, so but yeah, that's not far off but.
00:45:01
No, you know that's not fair because general uses a cross.
00:45:06
I know, I'm just joking, but yeah, he's.
00:45:08
He's we're. Be the one with the bullets.
00:45:10
See, I'm saying and I'm wrong saying somebody from the
00:45:13
country, but you will be a little bit more aware like, OK,
00:45:16
I'm from Miami. I'm not going to be aware of
00:45:20
making bullets. However, I'll be more aware of
00:45:23
maybe marine life and how we can survive on those type of things.
00:45:27
We know that Darryl knows all of that stuff.
00:45:29
But also if you think about it, just taking that that argument
00:45:32
that you're giving. Merle.
00:45:34
Like I said, I feel like he would be the one to know about
00:45:37
bullets. Because if you think about it,
00:45:38
Merle was the Cruel 1. Merle was the one who had no
00:45:41
problems hurting people. So Merle to me would seem like
00:45:44
he would know how to. He would probably know how to.
00:45:47
Make a bullet or know how to get them because he would use it to
00:45:50
intimidate people and whatever. But even in the past I'm
00:45:55
thinking about past jobs, so somebody in New Babylon has
00:45:59
ideas about bullets, so I'm okay with them having.
00:46:03
The endless supply of bullets. It be the endless supply of hair
00:46:06
products that concerns. We are not about to go into this
00:46:09
hair product conversation. But see that?
00:46:12
So see, I'm just going with the logic is like, the bullet thing,
00:46:15
I'm OK. The signs, you are absolutely
00:46:17
right. Like signs of making a sign,
00:46:21
like they didn't go to a Kinko's.
00:46:22
I mean, like, what are you doing?
00:46:25
Bullets I get, but a nice fresh sign.
00:46:29
It's not hand painted right? That's not hand painted like
00:46:33
someone painted it green and then we like did a stencil of
00:46:37
New Babylon I get. That.
00:46:41
Right. This look like this is coming
00:46:42
from a nice warehouse. I want to know where that
00:46:45
warehouse is because we're getting everyone's getting their
00:46:48
supplies from them. Like, I'm just saying, this was
00:46:52
this is the stuff that I pay attention to on a second and
00:46:55
third rewatch. Like let's get a new Babylon
00:46:57
science. New Babylon something.
00:46:59
But well, you passed one of them.
00:47:01
One of them was the bar having power.
00:47:04
I understand you make your own alcohol, but how you got the LED
00:47:07
lights working? I mean, help me, they probably
00:47:10
had a generator. What kind of generation I get
00:47:15
into this too? What kind of generation?
00:47:17
So I got to argue. Gas, gas and gas.
00:47:21
Fear The Walking Dead, Virginia have figured out a way to make
00:47:25
gas. So I'm sure again, we're talking
00:47:28
maybe 1520 years into the zombie apocalypse.
00:47:31
Somebody had to figure out a way to make some kind of fuel.
00:47:35
Because you're not just. I'm sorry, 20 years down the
00:47:38
line, I better have some kind of goddamn lights.
00:47:41
I'm going to be in the dark for the rest of my life.
00:47:42
I'm going to figure something out now this makes me this makes
00:47:47
me question OK you got Virginia figuring this out with fear and
00:47:52
figuring out how to to also about you know getting bitten to
00:47:55
And then you have new Babylon with new signs power gas Rick
00:48:01
and they crew. I need them to go to the library
00:48:03
and read up on some things because we're behind.
00:48:05
So here's the other question that I have so.
00:48:09
OK, we got the end of The Walking Dead, right?
00:48:13
We have the Daryl Dixon show. We have the Ricky Michon show.
00:48:16
We had this show. Now, this show has already
00:48:19
established a timeline. Like I said, we got to be
00:48:22
somewhere four to six years, give or take from the end of the
00:48:27
main show. The fact that Maggie came to
00:48:32
Megan for help, yes, I understand that because of.
00:48:37
His past association with the Crow app, But my question is,
00:48:43
this is Herschel we are talking about.
00:48:47
You didn't think to go ask any of your other people to come
00:48:52
help save your son. So that makes me wonder, OK, so
00:48:57
Ricky Michonne, are they back yet?
00:48:59
Are they still gone 5-6 years you know, from the end of the
00:49:04
show? Is Darrell still in France at
00:49:07
this point? Like, why did you not go to the
00:49:09
people you knew would come help you come hell or hot water?
00:49:14
But you know what? But you went to need?
00:49:16
Me. I get it, though.
00:49:17
I get it. But didn't also back in still on
00:49:21
The Walking Dead didn't because remember when they was was in
00:49:25
the subways and they because wasn't that New York.
00:49:31
When it was on the subways and they had Megan because you know
00:49:33
the city. They were going.
00:49:35
Towards DC OK, because something that made me think like didn't
00:49:40
they say he knew New York, which is because that's why they took
00:49:43
him when the. DC that was DC That was DC but
00:49:47
OK, hear it. Oh well.
00:49:49
But I get it though, because she kind of after that situation
00:49:53
where Rick kind of. She didn't side with me and he,
00:49:58
you know, he showed mercy. She started distancing herself
00:50:02
from them anyway. But at this point.
00:50:04
I'm, I'm sorry. She's still distant now, yeah.
00:50:07
But she's distancing to herself. And even with the Commonwealth,
00:50:10
even if everyone came back and they were living in
00:50:13
Commonwealth, she's off. She has always been and she's
00:50:16
been doing that, and I know they ridden that because she left the
00:50:20
show or whatnot, that she's always off doing her own thing.
00:50:24
So when she heard the whistle, I can't whistle.
00:50:28
And she associated that with Negan and she feels like Negan
00:50:32
is the one to give it. She didn't think about them
00:50:36
helping her. I can see, I can see it.
00:50:39
I can see it because she really has.
00:50:42
Development character development thing.
00:50:44
Because at this point where we are in the Dance City timeline,
00:50:49
this is 12 years removed from when Rick.
00:50:53
Allowed Megan to live. I know it don't matter cuz she's
00:50:58
still mad at Megan and it's been 12 years exactly like you said
00:51:03
she's still. Yeah, so she's.
00:51:06
Against Rick and and Michelle. She's not rationalizing.
00:51:10
Then let me go get the crew. Let me get these soldiers from
00:51:12
Commonwealth to help me. No, because you have friends.
00:51:16
Like you literally have Carol, even.
00:51:19
If you don't get it and this is the again, so this is the thing
00:51:22
that. Though she's not thinking, she's
00:51:24
thinking who can help me with this person I know is
00:51:27
associated. I know where that that whistling
00:51:30
comes from. So that person has to be the
00:51:32
same type of character Negan is. So I need a Negan to fight a
00:51:36
Negan. But I don't know.
00:51:38
I guess it still doesn't make sense because at this point.
00:51:42
Well, at the end of the show, Maggie had pretty much made her
00:51:47
amends with her people. I mean, when you come back and
00:51:49
you realize half the people you loved are dead and you were gone
00:51:53
for all of it, you weren't here for any of that one.
00:52:00
Okay, I I guess I'm applying. Real life is short, especially
00:52:05
in a zombie apocalypse. You do your forgiveness and you
00:52:08
you move on like. Once you think Rick is dead and
00:52:11
OK, you you probably have thought Rick is dead because you
00:52:14
saw you was there when the bridge blew up.
00:52:17
But I'm pretty sure that when Darryl left and told the kids or
00:52:21
told Judith, if I see them out there, I'll bring them home.
00:52:26
Darryl and Caroline, the only person who know at this point
00:52:29
that Rick may be alive and Michonne went to go find them.
00:52:33
I'm sure they probably shared that information with.
00:52:36
The and and Ricky Michonne really could be at the.
00:52:39
The honeymoon suite and Commonwealth.
00:52:41
But she is not going back there to ask for help.
00:52:44
That wasn't her first thing in her mind.
00:52:47
When she heard that whistle brought her back another
00:52:50
12/13/14 years. How long has been since Glenn
00:52:54
and her mission was to get him to fight Negan.
00:52:58
To fight another Negan. She one thing about Rick and
00:53:00
Rochon to fight them, she'll leave them out of it, which is
00:53:04
stupid because you you need everyone to help you.
00:53:08
I don't understand how 2 effing people are going to go into.
00:53:13
Manhattan Manhattan where there's.
00:53:16
Going to be a whole lot of walkers.
00:53:19
Walkers, plus the people you have to deal with to get your
00:53:23
son back, right? Especially you are not Tom
00:53:26
Cruise and Mission Impossible. You can't do it.
00:53:29
This is a person you can't do already.
00:53:31
Pretty much already made his amends to you.
00:53:34
Megan owes her nothing at this point, and he does say something
00:53:37
about this in this episode. Like he calls her out on every
00:53:41
passive aggressive line she's giving him.
00:53:43
Megan does not owe her anything at this point, so he could be
00:53:47
like, look, I already saved your son once all them years ago.
00:53:51
Literally. On the other hand, you talking
00:53:54
Rick, Carol, Michonne, Aaron, all this is nephew to them.
00:54:00
You mean to tell me that they wouldn't come and help you at
00:54:03
the drop of a dime and be like, oh okay, well, we know what we
00:54:05
can do. Let's go kill this motherfucker
00:54:07
and get your son back. Can we come up with a plan?
00:54:11
Right. That she's not doing it.
00:54:14
She's not even thinking it. Let let's go back to the fact
00:54:17
that you don't even really care what happened to his wife and
00:54:20
child to even invest in. Well, I don't.
00:54:23
I shouldn't take him because he maybe need to go back and find
00:54:26
his wife or child. You asked one line, which I
00:54:29
hate. They did that.
00:54:30
Where's Annie and your kid? He say nothing?
00:54:33
You say? OK, move on.
00:54:34
You coming with me? Come on.
00:54:36
So I will say this as far as that goes.
00:54:40
I have a feeling the fact that he didn't answer probably gave
00:54:46
her her answer and then when he said something in the truck
00:54:49
later on. And also this bracelet, I don't
00:54:53
know, is that a bracelet that Annie wore in The Walking Dead?
00:54:57
I don't know. I I thought it, I thought about
00:55:00
it, but I don't know. Because I was like when she
00:55:02
walked into his room when she snuck into the hotel room and
00:55:06
she grabbed the knife. The bracelet was there 1st and
00:55:09
she picked up the bracelet and looked at it and she set it back
00:55:12
down. When he was in the truck talking
00:55:14
to her, he was holding the bracelet and he was like it's
00:55:19
almost like you know how you take a a piece of jewelry or
00:55:21
something that means something to you and you just kind of
00:55:23
finger it. You just kind of rub on it and
00:55:25
it's kind of like giving you whatever you need, like some
00:55:29
kind of comfort. So he was doing this to her and
00:55:32
you know he was telling her, he said.
00:55:35
What the marshals say I did, it didn't go down like that, but I
00:55:40
figure for whatever I did do, I have paid the price to me.
00:55:46
I feel like that told the story of what may have happened to
00:55:51
Annie and the child. Either they got killed or she
00:55:55
got tired of being in the danger and she left him and took the
00:55:58
child. Now I do know that based on
00:56:01
interviews we will find out. What?
00:56:04
What happened to Annie? I think that, yeah, I figured
00:56:07
that they going to, they going to have to because they can't
00:56:10
leave us like this. But it also shows that it goes
00:56:14
with the evidence that we will probably later talk about at
00:56:17
another panel about Maggie's path, because her compassion and
00:56:24
empathy is, like, gone. Come on, Hanukkah, Don't help.
00:56:33
Don't. Don't do the silver lining.
00:56:36
I didn't say. All of it, but she.
00:56:39
But I feel like the given, the person, given one, given the
00:56:43
fact that this is Negan we're talking about, she's already on
00:56:47
shaky ground having to deal with this man who was the source of
00:56:52
so much trauma for her now. I know for most people when
00:56:58
something traumatic like that happens, they don't just
00:57:01
volunteer information. And I think in a sense her not
00:57:07
pushing the issue with Megan, Like first of all, he's there,
00:57:12
not with Annie and his child, He's there with a whole another
00:57:15
girl. And then when we get the
00:57:17
background of who this girl is, we find out that he was working
00:57:21
on a farm. She was there on the farm.
00:57:26
Her dad went out on the run, never came back to look.
00:57:28
She the girl went to go look for her dad, found him as a Walker
00:57:32
and apparently the way that he died was because people killed
00:57:36
him and killed him in a horrific way.
00:57:39
She wanted to go with him, I guess maybe because she saw on
00:57:42
the farm that he took care of himself.
00:57:44
And we already know from the past show Megan OKI got to say
00:57:51
it. Megan is a girl dad.
00:57:53
You saw the way that he took to Judith.
00:57:55
You saw the way he took to Lydia.
00:57:56
Now to this girl. He is a girl, Dad.
00:57:58
Which also leads me to believe that who whatever child he had
00:58:01
with Andy, that was probably a girl, too.
00:58:03
That's just. I don't know.
00:58:04
That's just my thinking. But I'm thinking because of the
00:58:08
situation and what they're dealing with, one Maggie has to
00:58:16
stay focused because her son's life is on the line.
00:58:21
Now I'm just saying that this is just part of evidence because I
00:58:25
feel like she has already start losing her compassion and
00:58:28
empathy before this and it just and it's.
00:58:32
In the train. Car.
00:58:33
She talked about that, but she started getting that back.
00:58:36
But again, and I'll just see if you can just see it in her now.
00:58:39
And I'm just saying that this is just a little bit evidence.
00:58:41
He's not going to give her any information.
00:58:44
He will probably talk about it later.
00:58:47
I got that part, but I'm just talking about her in general.
00:58:51
In this episode throughout, that's what I'm saying, it kind
00:58:54
of is more evidence to talk about her different path that
00:58:57
she's taking because of everything that has happened.
00:59:01
But as far as you know, I I'm not.
00:59:03
I I wouldn't say that she's not she's not pushing the knee.
00:59:07
Excuse me, the Annie and kid thing because of that lack of.
00:59:12
Come past. She's probably like okay.
00:59:13
You know what? This is something he obviously
00:59:15
does not want to talk about right now.
00:59:17
I'm not about to push this or I really think she don't care too.
00:59:22
I think I didn't think. She doesn't care.
00:59:24
I don't think that's the IT has nothing to do with Herschel.
00:59:26
It has nothing to do with Herschel.
00:59:28
She really don't. This is not her freedom, I don't
00:59:31
think. I don't think that's the case.
00:59:33
Because if you look at the way that she and Annie interacted in
00:59:38
the, you know, in that final season of The Walking Dead.
00:59:42
I think she more so was Okay. I wanted to say Okay.
00:59:49
She dealt with Negan because Negan came with Annie.
00:59:54
And you can see that those two women for what?
00:59:57
At for all of their differences. There was a little bit of a bond
01:00:01
there. Partial even took to Annie, so I
01:00:04
I wouldn't say that. But this has now been years and
01:00:08
I'm being honest with you. There's people who I may have
01:00:10
known for years and I asked about somebody they said they
01:00:14
don't want to talk about and I move on.
01:00:15
I don't necessarily sometimes care.
01:00:17
I'm be honest with you. And she, she lays, she's more
01:00:21
harsh than I am. So I can see her not caring
01:00:24
because it got nothing to do with this is not her, this is
01:00:27
not her. They're not friends.
01:00:29
So. I will ask because you with this
01:00:32
other girl and I'm like, that's. Time I saw you.
01:00:35
You had a wife in it. Right.
01:00:37
And then you're like you say those things and I move on.
01:00:40
I'm not trying to get information from you because she
01:00:43
don't care about his life, even if she met Annie.
01:00:47
And Annie is nice and, oh, I would have been friends with
01:00:50
Annie in the real life on the farm, but I don't really care.
01:00:55
I don't. I don't care.
01:00:56
I don't. I don't know if I feel.
01:00:58
Like and it's OK, but it's not a it's not a bad thing for it.
01:01:01
They're not friends, so it's OK. It's not her family.
01:01:04
It's OK to to not like, OK, well, I'm not going to get into
01:01:08
that. Let's move on.
01:01:10
I got to get my son. That's more important to her.
01:01:14
Because you could tell clearly we know that's the the most
01:01:17
important thing. That's the most important.
01:01:20
Thing. She's just being, like, super
01:01:21
reckless with it. But the one thing.
01:01:24
That I did like was when they was on the boat and Mia was
01:01:29
talking to her and you know because she she being an asshole
01:01:34
and he told her just think about all the husbands that you killed
01:01:37
the Dick. Like no granted you didn't kill
01:01:42
him in front of the wife. Maybe.
01:01:45
We don't know. But even still, you wiped out
01:01:50
literally. Just think of Outpost.
01:01:52
If you don't think about no other war, no other battle, no
01:01:56
other thing that y'all had just the outpost, right?
01:02:00
How many husbands did you kill? How many brothers and people who
01:02:05
waited for these people to come home did you kill?
01:02:07
You want to be mad at me because I did with you?
01:02:11
No. That also makes me think that
01:02:13
Maggie need to get that chip off her shoulder.
01:02:16
Oh yeah, you did the same thing. Yeah, that.
01:02:19
And that's why I was saying, you know.
01:02:21
It's good that he called her on her BS on the boat because,
01:02:26
again, here's the thing. You obviously came to ask me for
01:02:31
help because you know what I'm capable of.
01:02:34
And you know that you're going to need that in order to get
01:02:38
your son back. You know, especially after Megan
01:02:44
talked to her and was like, oh, yeah, so.
01:02:47
A lot of crazy people in my in my crew, but this one was like
01:02:50
extra special with a cherry on top.
01:02:53
Once you hear. This and like yes, Maggie has
01:03:00
descended into a little bit of darkness.
01:03:03
She has become a tough person. She has done what needs to be
01:03:06
done in order to protect her people.
01:03:09
However, I don't think. Very well.
01:03:13
Huh. No, she doesn't.
01:03:16
OK, I'll give you that. But what I'm saying is you are
01:03:22
not going to, you are never going to be the person that
01:03:25
Negan was. Yes, Megan did some horrible
01:03:27
things. And yes, he has tried to make up
01:03:30
for it since he has tried to redeem himself.
01:03:33
But somewhere in there, Megan can still be that person if he
01:03:38
needs to be. And right now, Maggie needs him
01:03:42
to be that person. But he But that's the hard part.
01:03:47
Like he feels like he made-up for it.
01:03:51
He may not be that person. He has no motivation to really
01:03:56
be that person for you. There's no.
01:03:59
Understand. I understand that.
01:04:02
That's the hard part that she got to think about like you.
01:04:05
You got to think about maybe I need to come at this a different
01:04:08
way. Maybe I need to get information
01:04:10
more from him and how he became that person, because I need to
01:04:13
be that person to get my son back.
01:04:16
But I can expect that person. So I'm just saying that's what
01:04:22
she should come at this with because trying to.
01:04:25
Hopefully she's not coming at it, that he's going to turn into
01:04:28
that person because he has no motivation.
01:04:31
You have more motivation to become him for this moment
01:04:34
because first of all, everyone will become what they need to
01:04:37
become to get their kid. So she got to become Negan more.
01:04:42
Nobody is or everybody is, right?
01:04:45
So if I have to become a Negan, then I'm going to become a Negan
01:04:49
and you're going to have to be OK with that because you.
01:04:51
Came to me. Right.
01:04:53
But no, I'm talking about me. Maggie got to be okay with.
01:04:55
She may have to become the Negan and be that Negan.
01:04:58
And I think she'll be okay with that because I'm getting my son.
01:05:01
This ain't because I'm trying to get some grains and, you know,
01:05:04
and help some other people. I'm getting my kid.
01:05:08
The only, I'm sorry, blood that I have left on this planet.
01:05:15
So if I got to be a effing bastard, I'm going to be.
01:05:18
But see, I don't know if she has that in her, especially after
01:05:23
the confrontation. She tries to kill Armstrong and
01:05:27
he catches her and they have this tussle.
01:05:30
She knocks him out and she has the opportunity to kill him at
01:05:33
this point, which for me, you're keeping me from saving my son.
01:05:37
I probably would have at this point, but she hesitates.
01:05:42
And then when Negan comes in the room and looks at her.
01:05:46
It's like what he said to her on the boat because this dude, what
01:05:49
did he do? He introduced himself and he
01:05:51
said, I have a wife and three daughters.
01:05:54
She thought about that. She was like, OK, so I don't
01:05:56
think, I think no matter what the situation is now, maybe once
01:06:00
she gets to the crow at and she actually sees her.
01:06:02
So, right. That's when I'm talking about.
01:06:04
That's when she's going to have to be.
01:06:06
Yeah, that is. Have to get to him, I don't
01:06:08
think. She don't need to be.
01:06:10
I don't think. No.
01:06:10
And that's what I'm saying. She's going to do that when she
01:06:12
gets to. The like in the video game, the
01:06:16
boss, she don't have to be ruthless when she gets to the
01:06:18
boss. He or she don't have to kill
01:06:20
these random people on the side because they do have families
01:06:24
and they may just be messengers. They may not even know what is
01:06:27
going on at the top. But I I think for, OK, so for me
01:06:32
in that situation, when this man is on top of you with a gun
01:06:35
trying to choke you and you say they have my son, that's why I
01:06:40
need him. He so he can help me get my son
01:06:42
back. And Armstrong looks at her and
01:06:45
then double s down on trying to choke her.
01:06:48
No, you should have killed him, because this is a man that will
01:06:51
come after you again. This is the one thing, right?
01:06:55
This is the one thing about these characters in The Walking
01:06:58
Dead. Like, I understand at some point
01:07:00
you want to hold on to your humanity and you want to kind of
01:07:05
show some mercy to people, but you have learned in the past
01:07:09
that that don't always work out in your favor.
01:07:12
This man made it very clear once you said I'm using him to save
01:07:17
my son. You just told me you are a
01:07:19
father, so you should know that you do whatever to save your
01:07:26
children. So you going to still try to
01:07:28
kill me once I tell you that this is my, this is my motive.
01:07:32
I'm This is why I have him. This is why I've been breaking
01:07:35
bones all up the coast. Because somebody took my son and
01:07:39
I'm trying to get him, you know? At this.
01:07:42
Point. Well then I have a question.
01:07:43
When she had that little knife in that boot, did she kill
01:07:46
anybody in the bar? She.
01:07:47
Stabbed Michelle Her's character with.
01:07:51
It OK, I thought. She OK?
01:07:52
Well, hey, Michelle could have bled out now so she could have
01:07:57
killed this other friend. I'm just saying.
01:08:00
I'm just. I'm just.
01:08:04
Saying. She only she didn't.
01:08:06
She didn't because of that conversation they had on the
01:08:08
boat. She Hey, that's why I.
01:08:11
Said yeah, that's only because he had that conversation with
01:08:13
her. So she trying to prove a point.
01:08:15
Girl, don't prove a point now, just go ahead, right?
01:08:19
And that's what's going to happen.
01:08:22
But otherwise she would have killed.
01:08:24
Him. Yeah, but I think at the same
01:08:26
time, like, I know that there's a line, she says.
01:08:30
Somewhere down the line. Because you see it in the in the
01:08:32
promos for the show. Where she says, what was it?
01:08:37
It takes a monster to make a monster.
01:08:39
I don't know if she was talking about herself, if she was
01:08:41
talking about him. The crow at I I don't know.
01:08:44
But if you think about it, like, I don't think Maggie wants to
01:08:48
get to that point in every the fact that Negan has to be the
01:08:53
person to remind you or to say something to you to be like, yo,
01:08:56
look, bitch, you ain't too far from where I am.
01:08:59
She's she. I think she's trying to hold on
01:09:02
to that, but like as the years go by, again, we don't know
01:09:05
what's been going on these last 5-6 years.
01:09:07
We don't. We don't know why she ended up
01:09:10
on the Croats radar. We don't know how they they
01:09:13
found them or whatever the case may be.
01:09:15
We we don't know, but all. I know is they bet not.
01:09:21
They bet not Have him gunning for her like the Pope was and we
01:09:26
never fucking find out why. It better be a fucking reason.
01:09:30
Because other than that, what's the point of the show?
01:09:33
Yeah, better have a reason, because what the fuck did Maggie
01:09:36
do? She been doing some things, see,
01:09:39
we given a lot of crap. She must be doing something.
01:09:41
I mean, but she's. We don't know what she did when
01:09:44
she was with Georgie. I know because she keeps getting
01:09:47
on these lists. Now I I have an issue.
01:09:50
Come on now. And like Maggie spent Pope spent
01:09:54
so much of his time and and and and people.
01:09:59
Trying to trying to kill her and we we like what you came into
01:10:05
her community and and and killed people and now you're what?
01:10:10
Because she got away. She's on your list but she got
01:10:13
away with a whole bunch of other people.
01:10:14
What was it about her that made it special?
01:10:17
She had to have fucked with him or did something and of course
01:10:20
like you said we never found that out and from I think from
01:10:24
what I understand I I read another interview maybe a few
01:10:28
weeks ago. That was talking about the
01:10:31
following season, or that season, and the following season
01:10:35
was supposed to explore more of the Reapers.
01:10:38
But of course they decided to end the show, so they had to cut
01:10:43
a lot of that out. So I think that's one reason why
01:10:46
it felt disjointed, because that didn't make sense.
01:10:50
None of that made sense to me, so, right.
01:10:55
But anyway, so we. Look, we'll have to do a whole
01:10:59
other show panel, whatever, talking about Maggie and and her
01:11:04
complex, the complexity of her character, because we can sit
01:11:06
here for a long time. So.
01:11:10
So let's move on, because I want to talk about Manhattan a little
01:11:13
bit because we do get Maggie Negan and like I said, they they
01:11:18
kidnapped one of the marshals, deputies, trainees, whatever you
01:11:22
want to call it. They go by boat to Manhattan.
01:11:26
And of course, Manhattan looks like it's been bombed out.
01:11:29
The bridge is gone, You have all these walkers.
01:11:34
But the crazy thing is when they finally get in the streets, the
01:11:38
streets are eerily empty. And I was like that.
01:11:45
There's so many people on this island, and yet these streets
01:11:48
are empty. They have to be doing something.
01:11:50
And of course there's this. There's this building in the
01:11:53
distance that has smoke coming from it.
01:11:56
Nobody knows what the smoke is. Maggie says that she sees it
01:12:00
once in the morning, once in the evening.
01:12:02
So I don't know if they're cooking.
01:12:05
I kind of feel like they may be Lauren Walker's to wherever it
01:12:09
is and burning. That fire is way too big to be
01:12:13
cooking. And it's so dark.
01:12:16
So that's kind of what I think it is, but.
01:12:19
Manhattan is interesting because when they come into the, when
01:12:21
they come into the city, when they come into the streets, you
01:12:24
see all these walkers on the ground and those walkers look
01:12:27
smashed. And we already know where this
01:12:30
is going because we've seen it in the promos as they're walking
01:12:33
down the street, all of a sudden a Walker falls into a car and
01:12:38
then you just start seeing walkers just falling from the
01:12:40
sky. But they are around a whole,
01:12:42
they're in the middle of Manhattan.
01:12:45
There's all these different buildings, so I'm assuming
01:12:47
there's windows open somewhere and walkers are just walking off
01:12:52
the but it's like how many walkers are still in those?
01:12:58
It like, again, this is almost 20 years down the line.
01:13:03
Yeah, you know, it's ended over like 5 million people in in new.
01:13:07
York, but not on, not on all them floors.
01:13:11
Like at some point, but. No, because if they if they
01:13:14
bombed the the the bridges and can't nobody get out, you stuck
01:13:17
there. Yeah, you go home and and they
01:13:19
probably had martial law. You had to be in the house.
01:13:23
People are dying in the building.
01:13:26
I understand what I'm saying. If you think about the floors in
01:13:30
those buildings. Even if they have 2000 people to
01:13:34
a floor over the course of 20 years?
01:13:36
You mean to tell me if there's an open window there?
01:13:38
Those walkers haven't already all fallen out?
01:13:42
That makes no sense. Because.
01:13:44
No, not no sound. Nothing's happening night.
01:13:46
Scrapers are built to to within you, just trying to jump from
01:13:51
the building. But how then how are they
01:13:54
getting out the building if if they're I thought?
01:13:59
Somebody was throwing them. No, no, I thought they were
01:14:02
falling out because of the noise.
01:14:04
But there was no noise. They following the sound of the
01:14:06
other walkers. You don't.
01:14:09
You don't remember the truck that was playing the music
01:14:11
lowering the walkers? Oh, I did see the truck.
01:14:13
Yeah, and I'm sure that's how they're clearing the streets,
01:14:18
but they're also, they've laid traps and all this other stuff.
01:14:22
But again, like, even if you have a whole bunch of walkers on
01:14:26
the floor. And at some point, if y'all got
01:14:31
open windows, the the Walker should all be like.
01:14:34
I know that there's probably other floors on those buildings
01:14:37
that are, they probably still have.
01:14:40
Walkers. It could.
01:14:41
It could. Because remember, Walking Dead,
01:14:45
they go. Dormant, They do what?
01:14:50
They remember the dormant walkers, they they was all just
01:14:54
laying and if you high enough on the floor.
01:14:58
You can't hear what's going on on the ground.
01:15:00
Yeah. OK.
01:15:02
I'll, I'll give you that one. They're they're just dormant.
01:15:06
There's there's nothing to agitate them.
01:15:08
There's nothing to make them like, hey, what's that noise?
01:15:11
So they just, you know, in a state of dormancy.
01:15:16
I guess, but it's like once a Walker body hits a car and
01:15:20
smashes windows, that starts making noise because you notice
01:15:24
there there's tended to be more falling down, but.
01:15:28
Anyway, I'm not going to spend too much time on that.
01:15:30
It was just an interesting thought to me.
01:15:32
Like y'all still got walkers on the floors, That's just randomly
01:15:35
falling after all this time. But anyways, so they're dodging
01:15:41
falling walkers and we noticed that there's a mysterious figure
01:15:47
at the top of one of the buildings.
01:15:49
And you know, I thought at the same time, So I was like, is she
01:15:52
throwing walkers? But then again, I don't see
01:15:54
somebody just being on a a rooftop.
01:15:57
With walkers, just, I I don't know, not somebody.
01:16:01
Yeah, especially not somebody who looks like she might be an
01:16:03
old lady. So anyway, less OK.
01:16:11
So like we said, there was a, there was somebody driving some
01:16:18
kind of truck or whatever, playing music while they were
01:16:21
walking through the streets. And you know, they're looking
01:16:24
like, what is this? And then of course, you see the
01:16:26
the walkers kind of coming. Some of the walkers start
01:16:29
heading towards them because they're like, oh, dinner.
01:16:33
OK, let's go over here. So, Negan, I forgot what the
01:16:37
other guy's name is. And Maggie, they go hide behind
01:16:40
these trash bags. Now while they're sitting here
01:16:46
hiding, sudden you hear the chittering.
01:16:49
And you see that there are cockroaches that that are
01:16:53
crawling over them, like all in the hair, all on the face.
01:16:57
And I was like, I will face the walkers.
01:17:02
New York cockroaches. Hell to the no.
01:17:06
I was so weird it out. Girl.
01:17:10
Everybody was like, I like how was like, Nope.
01:17:17
Because what was it the guy, he actually, he pulled one of the
01:17:20
trash bags. He was trying to, you know, he
01:17:23
was trying to get the roaches off of him and he kind of, I
01:17:26
guess, loses balance or whatever.
01:17:28
He touches one of the trash bags and when he pulls the bag back,
01:17:31
you see all they look like the scarabs from the mummy.
01:17:35
That's how they were scattering. They look like the scarabs from
01:17:39
the mummy, and they're all over each other.
01:17:42
And yeah, Negan was like, Nope. And they get up and they leave
01:17:46
and they start going towards the the walkers.
01:17:49
Like, I guess they're like, OK, you know what if I got to face
01:17:51
walkers or cockroaches, I'm facing these walkers.
01:17:54
And then you see the machine gunfire going through the crowd
01:17:59
because Pearly Armstrong and his other person Grits was his name
01:18:05
has come because they're looking for their person.
01:18:08
So they go into this building. That used to be a dry cleaners
01:18:12
and they're trying to figure out a way to get out of there.
01:18:14
And that's when Pearly comes in and like I said, he starts doing
01:18:18
this monologue to Maggie, who is hiding.
01:18:20
He's like miss, you know, my name is Pearly Armstrong.
01:18:23
I'm one of the marshals. What did he like?
01:18:26
I said, what did he say? I don't drink, I don't smoke,
01:18:28
blah, blah, blah. I have a, you know, I have a
01:18:30
wife and three kids and, you know, I just want you to know
01:18:34
what kind of people you're dealing with and blah, blah,
01:18:37
blah. I don't know why you're with
01:18:38
this guy. But maybe you can come out and
01:18:41
tell me he was like because if I have to come find you, I'm going
01:18:43
to be a little less open. No, that again, you are not
01:18:48
endearing me to your character by the way that you were doing
01:18:53
this because you know you just you are you seem like the shoot
01:18:59
first asked questions later type person which we see that
01:19:03
happening because while he's talking to Maggie, Megan and the
01:19:07
other guy they're kind of crouched.
01:19:09
Trying to hide from him, this very silent Walker comes from
01:19:14
behind and attacks. You know the other guy and he
01:19:19
falls on top of him. Now this is it.
01:19:22
Okay. This city is pushing the limits
01:19:24
on the growth factor because not only do we get the whole all the
01:19:29
cockroaches this Walker is on top of, dude.
01:19:33
Has blood coming out of his mouth now.
01:19:35
First of all, y'all need to stop having your mouth open when
01:19:39
you're around walkers. I thought about this when Maggie
01:19:41
was killed. You got all the blood.
01:19:49
So the blood from this Walker, We see something coming out of
01:19:53
his mouth. And I was like, what the fuck am
01:19:56
I watching? Is this the Last of Us?
01:19:57
Because something is coming out the mouth.
01:19:59
It was a fucking rat's tail because there was a rat.
01:20:03
In the throat of the Walker. And it was coming out as the
01:20:06
Walker was trying to bite this dude.
01:20:09
I was like, y'all all about showing us the gross stuff
01:20:12
today. So anyway, Megan kills the
01:20:17
Walker, he pulls the guy up and he's telling him he's like,
01:20:21
look, you when I tell you to move, you need to move, all of a
01:20:25
sudden you hear Pearly Armstrong.
01:20:27
Megan turns and kind of moves back.
01:20:32
Curly kills his own person. I'm like, first of all, your aim
01:20:35
is shit. Second of all, shoot first, ask
01:20:42
questions later. Like, dude, you just killed your
01:20:44
own person and got your ass kicked in the process.
01:20:50
Because Maggie, you know she did end up, you know they they ended
01:20:55
up fighting and she ended up knocking him out.
01:21:01
So I'm like all this for nothing, your boy grits.
01:21:04
Who? OK, I'm going to say it.
01:21:06
Nothing against the actor. Waste of screen time because
01:21:12
this this dude not only says nothing in the entire episode,
01:21:16
he gets killed by Walker's standing guard.
01:21:20
Now I was kind of wondering about this character because I
01:21:22
was like, he has not uttered a word.
01:21:26
But walkers are sitting there trying to come through the door,
01:21:29
and he's paying attention to the other side.
01:21:33
I was kind of wondering at first if he was maybe death because he
01:21:38
didn't act like a person who was like, I'm sorry if I have a
01:21:43
whole horde of walkers trying to get through glass doors to get
01:21:46
to me. I'm not having my back turn.
01:21:49
I'm going to be facing those doors.
01:21:52
To make sure, and I understand, you were probably trying to make
01:21:55
sure that Maggie and Megan, they didn't, they didn't come out,
01:22:00
But when? The glass is breaking.
01:22:02
Something should go. Something should have told him,
01:22:06
OK, you know what? They're about to get in.
01:22:08
Let me get the fuck out of here. But he didn't do anything.
01:22:12
I will stick it out. I'm going to stand right here.
01:22:15
I'm not leaving my post. Right, right.
01:22:18
And now, now you did. I was just like That was the
01:22:22
waste That was the waste of a character like good kudos.
01:22:27
Do you forget a paycheck for not having to do much?
01:22:31
But what was the point anyway? So, well, no, they needed an
01:22:40
extra. So when they killed off 2, it
01:22:42
didn't seem like, although they did give the one couple more
01:22:47
lines he lasted a little long one to do.
01:22:51
I guess like we only go it's three of y'all but only two of
01:22:54
y'all. Gonna get a check.
01:22:55
Right. Because what's gonna end up
01:22:57
happening is the sheriff is gonna be a part of Negan and
01:23:02
Maggie's crew 'cause now it's gonna be three of them.
01:23:08
He he probably got that gross thing like Maggie got going on.
01:23:11
Ohh no he gonna get. They gonna end up, they gonna
01:23:14
end up working together, 'cause they gonna have to survive this
01:23:16
now. He go get his man.
01:23:19
I guess before now Megan Negan to lift his ass in and knocked
01:23:23
out. I guess they were like okay, if
01:23:24
the walkers get you, the walkers get you.
01:23:26
Which of course we see that that probably didn't happen because
01:23:30
when they go back to show all three of the crew, you see the
01:23:34
walkers eating the one, you see the walkers eating the other.
01:23:37
And then right there where Armstrong was knocked out, he's
01:23:40
no longer there, but his hat is still there.
01:23:42
So I was like, okay, he done got up and left.
01:23:45
Or he done got up and moved or did something.
01:23:47
He was like, I'm not about to become y'all's dessert, right?
01:23:52
So Maggie and Megan, they go, they go further into the
01:23:55
building, they come into this room and it looks like a
01:23:58
seamstress room, which again, this is a dry cleaner.
01:24:01
So it probably, you know, one of those places that does dry
01:24:03
cleaning and alterations. So they have.
01:24:09
Was it a match that they lit or a flashlight or something?
01:24:12
Because they were using it to kind of see around the room And
01:24:15
then you see this old lady and she knocks the light out.
01:24:18
It was a match because she blew it out.
01:24:20
Okay. That's what I thought.
01:24:21
Okay. So after we see that, we get a
01:24:28
shot of Herschel and the Croat. Herschel is in a chair.
01:24:33
He's bound and shackled, which again, looking at him, he looks
01:24:37
like he has to be like. Maybe 1314 because he he's
01:24:42
actually kind of tall, he's he's quite solid and he has a bit of
01:24:47
a deep voice. So I don't think he's like
01:24:49
young, young. I don't think he's like late
01:24:52
teenagers either. So he's got to be somewhere like
01:24:55
right in that, right in that puberty stage.
01:24:57
So somewhere between I would say 13 and 15 is what he looks like
01:25:03
and you know. The Croat is coming at him and
01:25:08
he's, you know, saying all of these things, you know, talking
01:25:11
about Negan, the person he's. What was it?
01:25:14
He told Herschel. He was like, yeah, you seem like
01:25:16
a tough kid, like your mom, probably like your dad.
01:25:21
Do you know the person who killed your dad?
01:25:23
You know, he lived amongst your mother's people for a while.
01:25:25
His name was Negan. And you kind of see Herschel
01:25:28
bristle at that. And then.
01:25:31
He's trying to get information from Herschel, Batney Gang and
01:25:34
Herschel pulls a little tough boy, the tough guy at he was
01:25:37
like, you can do what you want. I ain't telling you shit.
01:25:40
I was like, yeah, that's definitely not an 1112 year old.
01:25:46
Yeah, he's like, OK, I'm about to play this game with you.
01:25:48
He starts pulling out these little tools that you always see
01:25:51
in movies and TV shows where people used to torture people.
01:25:55
And as he's pulling out these tools, you start to see Herschel
01:25:58
revert into a child. Like, he starts acting properly,
01:26:01
like, oh shit, I'm scared. This, this, this dude is nuts.
01:26:05
And the Croat looks like he's about to use one of the tools on
01:26:09
Herschel when someone comes in and it's like, oh, this, you
01:26:12
know, he escaped. So apparently they were holding
01:26:15
somebody else hostage, somebody that the Croat wanted
01:26:19
information about this guy's people.
01:26:21
So I was like, okay, is this one of Maggie's people, or is this
01:26:23
somebody from another community? We don't know this guy is
01:26:27
running. He's trying to get away.
01:26:30
He looks up and sees a zip line. And I was like, oh okay.
01:26:34
So we're going to divergent route.
01:26:36
We're going to have zip lines going all across the city.
01:26:39
Okay, cool. But this zip line goes right
01:26:43
down into the court courtyard when when enough weight is on it
01:26:48
to where the crow at is. And apparently this is not the
01:26:50
first time someone has tried to escape him.
01:26:53
From zip line because he cuts the zip line, the dude falls 20
01:26:58
stories to his death and the crow act kind of reaches over
01:27:01
the the the balcony. He was like 20 stories.
01:27:06
I think that's a record. So obviously this is not the
01:27:09
first time he has killed someone trying to use the zip line, but
01:27:14
I was like okay so. I don't know how that's going to
01:27:17
factor because again, we don't know who this person was.
01:27:20
We don't know what community he's from, We don't know why the
01:27:22
Croat had him or whatever. But you kind of get an idea just
01:27:26
in these last few minutes of the mindset of the Croat.
01:27:30
And you do realize that he is a little cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.
01:27:36
Oh, is he? I didn't even notice that.
01:27:39
Oh. OK.
01:27:41
Oh, yes, I do remember that. Yes.
01:27:43
So yeah, he's missing. It.
01:27:45
When I saw it, after she explained it, it was he.
01:27:47
He was from Sanctuary. I thought Megan burned it.
01:27:52
Remember, Let decided to wait. Oh, OK.
01:27:55
OK. That's what it's giving me, burn
01:27:58
vibes. OK, OK.
01:28:00
Which would make sense as to why he won't Megan fucking dead.
01:28:05
Could be, but see, at this point, we don't know it.
01:28:08
Will you know what? We know that because they've
01:28:12
been saying that all through the previews.
01:28:14
Yeah, through the previous. But as of this episode, we don't
01:28:17
know that. We don't know that he wants.
01:28:19
Yeah, I'm. I'm just saying at the the
01:28:24
reasoning behind him wanting Megan.
01:28:28
Yeah, we know he's an antagonist.
01:28:30
But I'm just saying this being one of the reasons.
01:28:34
So I wonder if he used Mag if he if he's using Herschel to get to
01:28:40
Maggie to get to Megan? I mean, because other than that,
01:28:43
why would you mention the Herschel about the fact that
01:28:46
Negan was part of Maggie's community and all this other
01:28:49
stuff like? I mean, well, he also knows
01:28:51
that. That Negan killed Glenn.
01:28:55
Yeah, but every. I mean, if you were part of
01:28:58
Sanctuary, you know that. Yeah.
01:28:59
But I don't know. I don't know it he.
01:29:04
He does seem like, you know, like I said he he's got to screw
01:29:07
loose. So that's going to be
01:29:09
interesting to see exactly what the motivation is for his
01:29:12
character. Like what is his?
01:29:14
As says modus operandi? Like why are you targeting
01:29:18
Maggie? What?
01:29:20
What? What was the purpose?
01:29:21
Like, why did you take Herschel? Why did you come after her?
01:29:24
Like, was it that once you realize that this is this is the
01:29:29
person who leads the community that you rated, you were like,
01:29:32
oh, okay, well, let me. I don't know.
01:29:35
Because in my mind are you taking Herschel from Maggie?
01:29:40
I don't know if I would think, oh, OK well, Maggie is going to
01:29:42
go to Negan, you know, and and draw him out and bring him to
01:29:46
me. I again, I don't know.
01:29:48
It just. Anybody thinking?
01:29:49
I don't. I don't think they were thinking
01:29:50
like that, OK? And that's just too, too, too,
01:29:55
too far. Yeah, too, too involved in.
01:29:58
OK, the other thing I did want to talk about about this
01:30:02
episode. Y'all could have gave us a
01:30:06
fucking warning before Y'all showed us Maggie's a nightmare,
01:30:10
because those sequences I did not need to see again that has
01:30:13
been etched into my brain. I did not need to see Glenn
01:30:17
being killed in that way again. But you know, I've never
01:30:21
rewatched that episode. I've seen it twice and that's it
01:30:25
me sing. I've seen it once too much for
01:30:30
me. And I'm like, Oh yeah, I won't
01:30:31
be watching. That's the only episode I've
01:30:33
only seen one time. Yeah.
01:30:35
And then have that flashback. I was like, the fuck.
01:30:39
I girl when when I saw it, I thought they were just going to
01:30:44
show the part where he like you. You see him lift Lucille.
01:30:48
I thought it was just going to stop.
01:30:50
No, y'all had to show us everything.
01:30:52
You had to show us Glenn's face. And as much as I don't want
01:30:56
Rick's. Face.
01:30:58
I'm sitting here doing this. Because I'm like, how much of
01:31:01
this are y'all going to show? And y'all showed way too fucking
01:31:04
much They. Didn't show the whole thing.
01:31:08
I was like I did not need to see that.
01:31:11
But I know why they did. It and I understand why they did
01:31:15
it. But it's really, it was really
01:31:18
for the new people because they won't get why they have feelings
01:31:24
like this towards each. Other I don't think anybody
01:31:27
who's not. Already invested in The Walking
01:31:31
Dead universe is like new people are not watching this show.
01:31:35
Yeah, they are. Yeah they are.
01:31:39
And yeah because some of these people are are they didn't they
01:31:43
came towards the end so they may have not seen the that season
01:31:48
when all of this came down to it.
01:31:50
I. Have a hard time believing that.
01:31:53
I really do, because most people.
01:31:57
Because even even in our panel there was someone who didn't see
01:32:01
the beginning. They started like the last two
01:32:04
seasons and they said they were going to go back and catch up.
01:32:08
So you have people that do that. I guess, I don't know, maybe I'm
01:32:13
just a different type of fan or different type of viewer because
01:32:17
if I am watching a show. That is based on established
01:32:21
characters and I'm want you know, I'm paying attention to
01:32:23
all the the promos and everything for this show.
01:32:27
I'm gonna do some background research like okay.
01:32:29
So why do these two characters have a show together and then
01:32:33
when you do that, you're gonna find out the background of them
01:32:35
anyway. I don't know, I guess.
01:32:36
Like I said, I guess. Yeah, because you you do that
01:32:39
and then this is what you also do.
01:32:42
Two, which is talk about the show, but you and we have, I
01:32:45
have heard you guys talk about this and I've talked about this
01:32:48
with you. There's some people are not that
01:32:51
invested, but there's not like literally we go to the movies,
01:32:55
we watch the show, we come back. And and watch people talk and
01:32:59
listen to people talk about we watch the episode of something
01:33:02
we literally 5 seconds later go and people not doing that and if
01:33:08
they see a good preview or something, they're like oh this
01:33:10
show looks interesting. No, wait a minute.
01:33:13
They're on season six. I don't have time to go back and
01:33:15
watch season one through 5. I just watch season 6 and watch
01:33:19
recaps and ask other people what happened.
01:33:23
Other people will tell you Negan killed Glenn and you're like,
01:33:26
OK, I get that. But now they showed you what
01:33:29
that shit really look like, so now you really understand me.
01:33:33
This shit again, You know, for them, they're like, oh, this is
01:33:37
reason why she hate them. It's not just a simple killing.
01:33:41
I mean, this was devastating. Look on YouTube Y'all knew
01:33:44
people I. Don't need to.
01:33:45
And they still, and even with that, they still won't get it
01:33:49
because there was a buildup of this for us, you know what I'm
01:33:54
saying? They get the, you know the the
01:33:56
people will talk about it on YouTube and you know, show it,
01:34:00
but they still won't have the same emotional damage that we
01:34:04
had occurred. From watching and I didn't need
01:34:07
that emotional damage again. As a person who was invested in
01:34:11
these characters, y'all didn't need to show me that shit again,
01:34:13
Y'all. I agree.
01:34:16
I looked down and I started doing something else real quick
01:34:18
because I was like, I don't need to see it.
01:34:20
But I said I I understood why they did like I.
01:34:22
Said. I was looking at it like this
01:34:24
because I. Was not I?
01:34:25
I get it. I was like.
01:34:26
OK, they're not going to show this for too long.
01:34:28
They showed that for way longer than I expected them to.
01:34:32
Like that was they're trying to establish that like.
01:34:35
Do we really need to see? That yeah, they trying to
01:34:38
establish that for newer friends who came towards the end and for
01:34:41
us who sit here and be like, well, you know maybe she should
01:34:45
have changed to really show us this is exactly what she went
01:34:49
through and we. Right.
01:34:51
And we no, she still should have some growth from it.
01:34:54
I I do believe that. I mean over time, you know.
01:34:58
No I don't believe that. You should be hugging on this
01:35:00
man and y'all you know and you have.
01:35:04
But for yourself you needed to grow because you have a kid to
01:35:09
raise and it could cause it would If she doesn't, the way
01:35:16
it's turning her insides I you just have to you going to have
01:35:20
to move past that a little bit. It's kind of like the, it's kind
01:35:24
of like Rick and. Card.
01:35:25
Just a little bit. I don't like Rick and Carl.
01:35:27
Like Carl was like we have to get past this.
01:35:29
We can't keep this cycle up of okay, you kill and then I kill
01:35:33
and then you kill and then I kill.
01:35:35
Because then where will it stop? It won't.
01:35:38
And we will always be fighting. We will always be.
01:35:41
And you have that hate. And yes, we are in a world where
01:35:46
we have to deal with so many other things that you, she got
01:35:50
to let some of it go. Because it's going to turn her
01:35:54
into something that she doesn't want to be turned into.
01:35:57
So when I say these things, I'm not saying I totally understand
01:36:00
the trauma and the grief, but for her sake, she's going to
01:36:05
have to. Otherwise it's going to be.
01:36:09
A bunch of shows of. Help me, but I'm being mean to
01:36:13
you. Help me but because at that
01:36:15
point that is going to make people start hating Maggie like
01:36:17
bitch. Yeah, right.
01:36:19
And then she's going to start doing things.
01:36:22
That she shouldn't be doing because.
01:36:23
Of it. Because of it.
01:36:27
I mean think about think about the train car.
01:36:30
You know, she was sitting there being mean to him and being, you
01:36:33
know, oh, I I'm asking you to come on this this mission to
01:36:38
help us get killed because you know this area, but I'm a bitch
01:36:42
and Dick you the whole way. And then you might get mad
01:36:45
because when you're trying to escape from walkers, you let him
01:36:48
go up on the train car 1st and then he doesn't do what he.
01:36:52
That he can to save you. What did you expect, right.
01:36:56
Have been like Oh yeah I was you know he and in his mind oh after
01:37:01
you after you don't need me anymore.
01:37:03
You probably going to kill me. He would never remember that to
01:37:06
her and she's doing the same thing again.
01:37:10
So yeah I do agree at this point if you're not going to if you
01:37:17
can't forgive him, which totally understandable.
01:37:21
You can't forgive him and you're going to keep up this very
01:37:26
antagonistic attitude towards him.
01:37:29
Leave him the fuck alone. Live.
01:37:32
His own life in that hotel with that little girl.
01:37:36
Right, because you you have to, at a certain point realize which
01:37:40
he has told you several times, This is the choice he made in
01:37:45
what was happening to his people.
01:37:48
And he wanted to show don't F with us anymore.
01:37:52
So you're going to have to, in your mind, be like, I can't
01:37:54
forgive you. But I'm going to have to
01:37:56
understand that everyone made different choices of how to
01:38:01
survive and to keep their people safe.
01:38:04
Because he didn't do what the Governor did.
01:38:06
I mean, he wasn't as worse as the Governor.
01:38:09
He had rules and regulations, and she has to understand that.
01:38:14
And she's to someone else, she's the same villain.
01:38:18
That so she got to understand. Like okay, it's it was a harsh
01:38:23
way to kill someone. First of all you could have just
01:38:26
shot Glenn to be honest with you to prove your point.
01:38:29
Or cut off a finger then shoot them.
01:38:33
Extreme, but okay, I might have put that aside.
01:38:37
And we and I don't need to. I don't want you in my life.
01:38:40
And maybe one day my son is going to come back and try to
01:38:43
kill you. That's on you.
01:38:45
But you shouldn't even put that on your your son to do.
01:38:49
But she can't let it go. It it bleeds on to her kid when
01:38:54
he gets older. At some point if he don't die
01:38:57
from this, he's going to try to kill him, which he shouldn't
01:38:59
because that starts to cycle all over again and then that girl
01:39:03
who's close to him. If she continues to be close to
01:39:06
him, then she go after, you see what I'm saying?
01:39:08
So it's like you you have to be like we have to do better, which
01:39:12
is what Carl was saying. Carl was saying.
01:39:18
But yeah, I ignore Carl if I ignore Carl, Carl that.
01:39:24
Out of my. Yeah, yeah, too much time is
01:39:28
passed at this point, you know. But.
01:39:33
But the what about the intro? I like the intro.
01:39:35
So I did like the intro. It's it's very different.
01:39:41
The style of it is very different and I don't, I don't
01:39:46
know, I guess it's very artsy, but I do like it.
01:39:55
It was, I think it was interesting just kind of seeing
01:40:00
the way it's. Because we're so used to seeing
01:40:04
the intros for The Walking Dead and like even with Fear The
01:40:07
Walking Dead, like Fear The Walking Dead, they they have a
01:40:10
very specific way that they do their title cars and their
01:40:13
intro. It's basically like anthology
01:40:16
style. Like you see the purse, the
01:40:18
silhouette of the person that the episode is going to be
01:40:20
mainly about. With The Walking Dead, you kind
01:40:23
of get these different little. Pieces of of the world that
01:40:28
they're in now. I did like the fact that they
01:40:30
kept like that little line of walkers that was similar to the
01:40:35
original show in in. Intro.
01:40:38
But yeah, New York is just it looks so bad in the intro and
01:40:45
just even throughout the show like we see.
01:40:52
You know, we watch stories about different apocalypses all the
01:40:55
time, and for for me, very prominently About New York is
01:41:00
like the original Stand miniseries.
01:41:03
When you see how you know it wasn't even bombed out, then it
01:41:09
was just you see what a mess being an apocalypse made.
01:41:14
You know, all the cars, all the trash, all the buildings that
01:41:17
have been looted and everything but this put it on a whole.
01:41:21
Other level because like that little shot where you see Maggie
01:41:25
and Megan and the Manhattan Bridge is in the background and
01:41:30
you see just how decimated it is.
01:41:33
Like, it really brings into focus what was done to try to
01:41:38
contain this, this infection, this virus.
01:41:42
Like Y'all really cut people off from the rest of the world
01:41:46
thinking that Y'all were going to take care of this.
01:41:49
And it's like. Okay.
01:41:53
And I think somebody else mentioned, and I don't remember
01:41:56
if this is in the intro, if it was somewhere someone mentioned
01:41:59
that one of the memorial buildings for the World Trade
01:42:07
Center is actually shown in an unfinished state.
01:42:11
Because this particular, you know, The Walking Dead, the
01:42:14
zombie apocalypse, started right around 2010.
01:42:18
And that was before that monument was finished.
01:42:21
So someone said that that you see it unfinished in there.
01:42:26
And I was like, oh, I didn't notice that, but I want to go
01:42:29
through and and see it. But yeah, see, that's the thing.
01:42:35
I don't remember what I don't remember, but I know it's there.
01:42:38
So I'll probably, you know, look through the intro a little bit
01:42:42
more closely. But I didn't, I didn't really
01:42:44
want to pause it. At the time, because I was like,
01:42:47
okay, let me just kind of get into this mindset because of
01:42:49
course it's The Walking Dead, but it's a new show.
01:42:52
It has a new feel. Even with these characters that
01:42:55
we are familiar with, in a sense, they felt like strangers.
01:43:00
And in a way that's a good thing because these are characters who
01:43:03
are years removed from the last time we saw them.
01:43:06
You know, we saw Negan was back to his, you know, smart ass,
01:43:10
sarcastic self. Even with Maggie just kind of
01:43:14
sort of pushing her buttons, which I was like, why would you
01:43:17
do this? But again, that last
01:43:20
conversation, y'all had you in your mind, made your amends.
01:43:25
You've done everything you can to protect these people.
01:43:29
You saved her son. You kept her from.
01:43:34
Possibly becoming the monster that she could have been back
01:43:37
then if she had killed Pamela. Like you tried to stop her from
01:43:41
going on the same path you ended up going on, you know?
01:43:44
And so now here it is, years later, she's coming to you for
01:43:48
help. But of course she's she's being
01:43:51
an asshole about it in a way. And you say a little bit about.
01:43:54
I told her no. It's like.
01:43:58
Because I mean technically if you look at it, he don't repaid
01:44:00
any debt that he had. That that he can, because the
01:44:05
only other thing he can do is bring Glenn back to life, which
01:44:08
of course we know he can't do. And you.
01:44:11
Can't in the jail he went in, sided with the.
01:44:18
With the whisperers he does slept with Alpha in his socks.
01:44:25
All these and trying to get all make all these amends and you
01:44:28
still treat me like a Dick girl. Fuck you and that baby.
01:44:32
And then I saved your baby and you still talk about I owe you.
01:44:39
Because at this rate he going to owe her to the end of time, even
01:44:43
if they get her to like still owe me.
01:44:45
Yeah, and that's one of those things.
01:44:46
Kind of like what Michelle is saying, at some point you have
01:44:49
to let if if you didn't kill him, which you had plenty of
01:44:53
opportunity to do, which he expected you to do.
01:44:56
If your decision was to not kill him, then I feel like in order
01:45:02
for you to grow, in order for you to heal, you have to let it
01:45:07
go. And I know she made that.
01:45:08
She said that line in the show and she was like what you did,
01:45:12
you don't come back from. You got to let it go because
01:45:17
other than that, like you said that attitude or that you know
01:45:21
that hatred, if you hold on to it, that's good.
01:45:25
Your son is going to see that eventually.
01:45:29
But hell, Negan already tell his son.
01:45:30
You know, I know he's going to comfort me when you get older.
01:45:33
Right. I'll be ready, right?
01:45:36
He pulled the kill bill. Yeah, exactly.
01:45:41
But if that's the case, then you let your son deal with that
01:45:44
however he wants to do it. You made a decision not to kill
01:45:47
him. You made a decision to allow him
01:45:51
to continue to participate in the community.
01:45:54
You even got to. You even got to a point where he
01:45:56
was like, I can't forgive you, but I can acknowledge that you a
01:46:02
different person. So if there are days when I
01:46:06
can't face you, just understand that.
01:46:10
You and Annie can stay here because you've earned your
01:46:13
place. How do you go from that to what
01:46:16
you're doing now? Like it's almost like you, you
01:46:19
regressed and why? So I don't know, maybe they will
01:46:24
explore that a little bit more as the episodes go.
01:46:27
But you know, we only get 6 episodes of this show.
01:46:31
I don't know if they're going to do with season 2 or not, but I'm
01:46:34
assuming that whatever they they did with season one.
01:46:39
They had to wrap it. Up at the end because they don't
01:46:41
know if they're coming back for a second season and I don't
01:46:44
think they will want to leave us on a cliffhanger.
01:46:46
Not like that. Yeah.
01:46:49
And and for me this, this. To be honest with you, this show
01:46:56
is written in a way where I don't think it should be more
01:47:00
than one season, to be honest with you, you know, I mean,
01:47:03
unless we actually do a spinoff and then it's about.
01:47:09
Other people in New York. Or if they're going to tie it
01:47:11
back to one of the other shows. Because we do know.
01:47:14
That because this is a, this is not like opening up and we're
01:47:18
heading, this is we have a mission, this is a set.
01:47:22
Mission but we don't know what the.
01:47:25
End of that mission is going to be well.
01:47:28
No, we do. The set mission right now is to
01:47:31
get hurt. I'm just saying.
01:47:33
So we don't know. How this mission is going to
01:47:36
end? And if that's going to lead into
01:47:40
one of the other shows? I know, but when I'm just to
01:47:44
just is watching and looking at other shows.
01:47:46
When you start with a mission and you're starting more
01:47:49
closedminded, it is hard to then open it up for additional years.
01:47:56
Those shows don't tend to work as well when you have it open
01:48:00
and then you have missions and quests within and you can expand
01:48:04
on that. So I would have thought that
01:48:07
too, but I would have applied that to the Daryl Dixon show as
01:48:11
well. But as we can see from the news
01:48:14
we're getting, they're already filming in Season 2 of that
01:48:18
show. I can see that though, for
01:48:21
Daryl, because he really did not have a, he doesn't have a strict
01:48:25
mission. He's off.
01:48:28
He's just. We don't even know why he's in
01:48:31
France, like we don't know how he gets there.
01:48:33
No, we don't. And we're going to find out.
01:48:35
But once he gets over there, he didn't encounter other places
01:48:39
like his place. And that stems off other stories
01:48:43
with other people. And then Darrell's in the story
01:48:47
and then we build and love other characters in a different area.
01:48:53
Here we're strictly like we literally in episode.
01:48:55
When we went from, we went in that bar, we thought we going to
01:48:58
get Michelle in this story, Michelle dies.
01:49:01
Then we we're on a boat to Manhattan.
01:49:03
We are in Manhattan. If you mean we get an old lady,
01:49:06
it's like we're moving. So I can see this not going.
01:49:12
If they do push it to two, they shouldn't go past two.
01:49:16
Limited series like. Like world beyond what?
01:49:19
It should be. I mean it.
01:49:21
And that's a good and I'm not saying it's about that's a good
01:49:22
thing you know for for them like it's limited and then the next
01:49:28
we can get somebody else who has a limited like they often doing
01:49:31
something. But Darrell, I can see being
01:49:34
time. Because he's going to encounter
01:49:37
people and it has. He really he's he's he's off.
01:49:40
Who is he looking for? What is he doing?
01:49:41
We don't even know. We don't even know how he ended
01:49:43
up in Paris. All we.
01:49:45
Know is he was on a capsized boat.
01:49:49
Yeah, and he walking and the trailer, he just walking and
01:49:53
walking. I saw that trailer, I said.
01:49:55
If they show us a whole bunch of Daryl Dixon walking, I have an
01:49:59
issue. They.
01:50:02
Do and he walking. And we're walking And we're
01:50:06
walking and we're walking. Right.
01:50:08
So I can see, you know, he encounter one group and help
01:50:12
them and then that turns into three other people joining him,
01:50:16
almost like the fear, like it was one family.
01:50:20
And then we got these other people coming along and they
01:50:22
encounter things and now we're the Morgan show.
01:50:27
Okay. I got it.
01:50:29
Okay. Yes, I can see that being more
01:50:31
time. OK, Ricky Marshawn, that
01:50:34
shouldn't be more than one, no? They just need to find each
01:50:37
other and they need to go back home to the goddamn children.
01:50:40
That's and that's it. And that's how that should end.
01:50:42
So that should be like about 10 episodes by the time that show
01:50:46
come out. Judas, there's gonna be a time
01:50:48
jump. Judy's gonna be 21.
01:50:49
See, that's the thing I'm trying to see.
01:50:51
That's why I'm trying to figure out because OK, so as far as the
01:50:55
timelines with the shows. One of the things that they said
01:50:59
about Fear The Walking Dead and the current season is that they
01:51:03
did A7 year time jump to align it with The Walking Dead
01:51:08
timeline. Okay.
01:51:11
So then if if if you're doing that, why take this show and do
01:51:18
another 5-6 year time jump? Like what's the purpose And then
01:51:22
like I said. So if you're doing a 5-6 year
01:51:25
time jump for Maggie and Megan, where in the timeline does
01:51:30
Darrell's story take place? Where in the timeline will Rick
01:51:33
and Michonne's story take place? Like, are these story like, like
01:51:38
I said, when Maggie goes to find Megan, is Darrell back home?
01:51:42
Is Darrell gone? Have Rick and Michonne returned?
01:51:46
Are they still out missing like? And if that's the case, like you
01:51:49
said, that Judah's going to be her, Judah going to be 20?
01:51:53
And you going to have these kids from this deleted scene from The
01:51:57
Walking Dead show up. And so yeah, Julie's going to
01:52:03
have her own child and husband. Like, who are you guys?
01:52:07
Yeah, I guess we'll figure that out once we get more details
01:52:14
about it. That's the other interesting
01:52:18
thing, because I don't know if you've heard.
01:52:21
San Diego Comic Con is next month.
01:52:24
And you know, we had thought that okay, they'll probably have
01:52:28
Walking Dead people there to like, promote these shows.
01:52:31
But what we're finding out is because of the writers strike
01:52:34
and because of a possible actor strike that I believe may go
01:52:40
into effect tomorrow. A lot of the big names are not
01:52:47
going to San Diego Comic Con. Marvel is not going to have a
01:52:50
presence there. I think AM C is not going to
01:52:54
have a presence. There is like a lot of these big
01:52:57
names are not going to be there. So I don't know when we'll get
01:53:02
any more Rick and Michonne content as far as like a teaser
01:53:07
like. Literally, the Daryl Dixon show
01:53:09
is starting soon and we're just getting a first trailer, a
01:53:13
teaser trailer, like a few days ago.
01:53:17
So I don't know, I guess what we'll just have to wait and try
01:53:22
to figure out some more things as far as how this fits in the
01:53:25
timeline. But for for this episode, I
01:53:29
think it would had a very strong start.
01:53:32
You know, we do get to see these characters and we kind of get to
01:53:35
see how they've changed. Over the last few years, since
01:53:38
the last time we saw them, you know, in their timeline and we
01:53:44
get these other characters that are interesting.
01:53:46
But like I said, Pearly Armstrong, not my favorite,
01:53:49
probably will not be my favorite.
01:53:51
I probably will not like his character.
01:53:53
And then the Crow hat is the other main character that we've
01:53:56
seen so far and he does look like he's going to be a problem,
01:54:02
so. But did did we forget anything?
01:54:09
I think we got the most of it. Oh, I was going to say that
01:54:13
first thing with Maggie, where she's sitting on the shore
01:54:16
looking through the binoculars at Manhattan and then she gets
01:54:21
she gets attacked by Walker and she turns around and beats it.
01:54:25
I was like, they make that scene very reminiscent of Negan
01:54:30
beating Glenn and Abraham. Was I the only person who who
01:54:36
felt like that, like the way she was kind of bashing that
01:54:40
Walker's hand? My thought is if he walks under
01:54:43
the bridge to get her and she start beating the hell out of
01:54:46
him, I ain't nobody. Hear that, the other?
01:54:49
Walker, she was hiding from not hear that, especially she.
01:54:52
And that's what I was thinking about.
01:54:54
Yeah, that's what I was thinking about.
01:54:55
Like, OK, she made a lot of noise and then she's struggling.
01:54:58
Like, has she not killed the walk in the wild?
01:55:01
What is going on? I know she's she's, she's in
01:55:04
that head space. She's worried about her son and
01:55:07
she probably is just trying to figure out how, you know,
01:55:10
especially you just sat on the bank, you're looking with the
01:55:13
binoculars and you see these thousands of walkers.
01:55:17
I know she was probably thinking, how the hell am I
01:55:19
going to save my son? But then my question is, she
01:55:23
looked but then you noticed when they got over there on the boat
01:55:25
with no walkers. But it was night.
01:55:28
And that's that's why I was saying whatever they're doing in
01:55:31
that building that's causing the smoke, I think they're luring
01:55:35
walkers there. And then of course, like I said,
01:55:38
the that truck that was going by with the music, they were
01:55:42
luring, they were, you know, hurting the walkers.
01:55:45
So I don't know if maybe they keep the walkers close to the
01:55:50
home base, whatever the home base is, whoever it is that's
01:55:53
doing this. During the night time to keep
01:55:56
people from getting to them and then they just kind of let them
01:55:58
disperse again. During the day.
01:56:00
I I don't know. We we really don't know much
01:56:03
about what else is going on in Manhattan.
01:56:06
I'm pretty sure the Croat is not the only person who is still
01:56:10
alive and you know operating in Manhattan.
01:56:13
I'm sure we're going to come across some other people.
01:56:16
Something tells me the little old lady is not part of his
01:56:19
group. So.
01:56:21
We don't know exactly what's going on there, but yeah, that
01:56:25
was kind of strange that there was nobody there.
01:56:27
But I think for her, seeing all of those walkers in the daytime
01:56:32
and your son has just been taken and you don't know how you're
01:56:35
going to get him back. I think maybe at that point she
01:56:39
just wasn't paying attention. She was more emotional, and that
01:56:43
Walker kind of snuck up on her and she just, she was just like,
01:56:46
OK, you know what? Oh, here's the other thing.
01:56:50
So after you knock out Armstrong with his gun and you and Megan
01:56:55
leave, why do you throw the gun down?
01:56:58
I didn't. Understand why would.
01:57:00
You do that and she might watch watch one action movie.
01:57:06
No, she did not now. I understand that one to make a
01:57:09
whole. On the farm.
01:57:10
But those that machine gun might come in handy, especially if you
01:57:15
try to rescue your son from a deranged person.
01:57:19
Who probably has henchmen, because, I mean, they have to
01:57:23
have a lot of people. Well, maybe not a lot of people,
01:57:26
but I think it's interesting that they, from the way that she
01:57:32
described how they raided her, it sounded more like reapers
01:57:37
than it did the sanctuary. The sanctuary didn't do.
01:57:40
They didn't do that sneaky shit at night.
01:57:43
You know, scale the walls and come in and take and take y'all
01:57:46
out while y'all sleep. No.
01:57:48
One thing about Megan in the sanctuary, they were very out
01:57:50
and open about what they were doing.
01:57:55
They didn't do no sneaky stuff. And that's the other thing we
01:57:57
said about Megan doesn't lie. He doesn't.
01:58:01
He doesn't do that kind of manipulation to where he's going
01:58:03
to tell you one thing to do another.
01:58:04
No, Megan's going to be straight up to your face and tell you
01:58:08
what the hell he's doing. Tell you why he's doing it.
01:58:11
The way that she described how the crow act snuck in and got
01:58:16
the grain and everything sounded more like Reaper shit to me,
01:58:20
because that's what the reapers did.
01:58:23
Maybe it came with Reapers and was with them for a little bit
01:58:28
thought. I mean could be.
01:58:32
But yes, more. Yeah, I have.
01:58:35
Any final? Thoughts.
01:58:36
Don't find out more I'm sure as time goes on.
01:58:40
Yes, especially with only six up.
01:58:42
So they better give us some good actions like don't, don't just
01:58:45
leave it random. Right.
