00:00:25
What's up hybrids? Welcome back to another episode
00:00:28
of the Phantom Hybrid Podcast. This is Hanukkah and I'm here
00:00:31
with Dina. And we are talking about the
00:00:34
penultimate, not season, episode, series episode of
00:00:42
Outlander that I I don't like saying that.
00:00:47
I just got goosebumps saying that it's almost the end and I'm
00:00:52
not ready. No, no, because I want more.
00:00:55
And then especially since she has more books, there's more
00:00:57
material out there, you know, coming.
00:00:59
So it makes me sad. But like, you know, we talked
00:01:02
about that before. Like you said, they can't hold
00:01:04
the actors hostage forever. It ain't like that in.
00:01:06
The day, some soap. Forever, you know.
00:01:10
But still, it's like I'm not ready.
00:01:15
But this is where we are. We got one episode after this
00:01:20
one. Let's get into it.
00:01:22
I will say this, I think I missed the Juju and Michelle.
00:01:27
I had been seeing some things online and I've been trying to
00:01:31
stay away 'cause I didn't get a chance to watch this until
00:01:34
Sunday. So I had started seeing things.
00:01:39
And you know how some of the, some of the actors have been
00:01:41
doing like the goodbyes to their characters after their
00:01:44
characters. And so I saw one on Lord John
00:01:47
Grant. I was like, if y'all tell me he
00:01:49
dies in this episode, I'm going to be mad.
00:01:51
And then at the beginning of the episode, you know, they have the
00:01:54
like the trigger warnings at the beginning and this says suicide.
00:01:58
I said hold up. I said if y'all do anything to
00:02:03
Lord John Gray, I'm a riot. But then I had to remind myself,
00:02:07
Diana Galbadon wrote this episode.
00:02:09
She ain't killing Lord John. Right I was.
00:02:12
Like, OK, all right, OK, I can calm down now, But let's get
00:02:18
into Lord John Gray, because episode starts out with his
00:02:22
little dilemma, which we saw at the end of the episode.
00:02:25
He got kidnapped. Yeah.
00:02:27
I, Captain Richardson. So we start the episode off
00:02:35
Captain Richardson comes in and basically he's like, yeah, your
00:02:40
brother's about to do some stuff that I need him to not do.
00:02:42
So in order to get him to not do those things, we're going to
00:02:46
blackmail him. And how are we going to do that?
00:02:49
Well, we're going to put all the floor John's business out in the
00:02:54
London papers. He's got streets.
00:02:57
He's gotten one of Lord John's old lovers, which we still don't
00:03:01
know how he found this person. He got a confession.
00:03:06
And I've. I, I paused the TV screen just
00:03:09
to see if I could read what the confession was.
00:03:12
Oh, yeah, That dude was laying it out.
00:03:14
He was like sodomy, buggery, fellatio, blah, blah, blah.
00:03:17
I was like, oh, you. What did they threaten you with?
00:03:21
Because you all the details. Percy I, I feel, I wonder if it
00:03:26
was because Percy knew things and then, you know, he was
00:03:30
because he's a sucker. And so maybe he told him.
00:03:33
There's a possibility it could be this guy or that, you know,
00:03:36
or this person maybe, and then he went and tortured him or
00:03:39
whatever. Kind of makes you wonder like so
00:03:41
we learned some things about Percy in this episode.
00:03:46
One, that he still loves Lord John, obviously, but two, it's
00:03:50
kind of like, were you keeping track of him this?
00:03:53
Whole time. Because if you remember from
00:03:56
earlier episodes, when Lord John was telling Claire about Percy,
00:04:01
he was like, yeah, we used to be, you know, he was my
00:04:04
stepbrother. Our parents used to be married.
00:04:06
He had to fake his death or he helped him fake his death for
00:04:10
something. I don't even remember what it
00:04:12
was. But obviously Percy is is kind
00:04:14
of unscrupulous. I mean, we see that even in this
00:04:16
episode. And he's also a bit of a coward.
00:04:20
He's a bit of a punk, a cold. Coward.
00:04:22
So I don't know it, it kind of makes you wonder, like, what did
00:04:28
Richardson have on these people to make them say, OK, yeah, I'm
00:04:31
going to give you a full confession.
00:04:33
And of course, the one from Percy is more damning because of
00:04:36
the fact that they were legally step brothers, step brothers at
00:04:41
the time of all this stuff. And it's just kind of like you,
00:04:46
you want to be mad at Lord John, but at the same time, when they
00:04:49
were step brothers, they were young, they were teenagers.
00:04:52
Teenagers do stupid things. We all know that.
00:04:54
We've been there. We've done stupid things for.
00:04:57
Sure. We're to come back and bite him
00:05:00
in the butt so many years later. Yeah.
00:05:04
And for Percy to be like, I'm not brave, John, you were always
00:05:08
brave, but I'm not Why? Is it always the the the ones
00:05:13
that's cowards and wimps out here doing the most dirt and and
00:05:18
keeping up the most drama and and messing with folks?
00:05:20
And then when it's time that before they come up and oh, they
00:05:23
whining and begging and pleading and help me.
00:05:26
No, you didn't help me. You could have been you could
00:05:29
have helped me and you chose to give me up and now you please
00:05:34
forgive me. I don't think so.
00:05:35
Right. Because let's be honest, if
00:05:38
Richardson is to come to Percy and say, OK, so I heard you had
00:05:42
a relationship with Laura, John Percy could have said no.
00:05:46
I mean, how is Richardson going to prove otherwise?
00:05:50
Was he there? Didn't.
00:05:52
I mean, come on, right? How, how is it that you like?
00:05:58
I still don't get how he was able to have that kind of power
00:06:02
over Percy, because unless Percy got caught with somebody else.
00:06:08
I mean, the question came up because, oh, you are, you know,
00:06:13
associated with him. But then again, here comes the
00:06:15
question again. Percy is supposed to be dead to
00:06:18
anybody who knew Percy Wayne, right?
00:06:21
Right, right. Yeah.
00:06:24
And I feel like the only reason why he signed his letter that
00:06:27
way to how saying, hey, if you don't do all of this, it this
00:06:32
this information is going to the papers is because how would know
00:06:35
who he was like, truly, right. You know.
00:06:39
So it's kind of like, OK, yeah, you thought I was dead, but I'm
00:06:41
here and this is what I know. If anybody knows anything about
00:06:45
Lord John from those times, it would be Percy.
00:06:47
But still, it's kind of like, how did you get into
00:06:51
Richardson's clutches that he knew that this was something he
00:06:54
could blackmail you with? I do wonder with 'cause I don't
00:06:57
know, you know, with us finding out later about Richardson,
00:07:02
Richardson and, and who he really is and all that.
00:07:04
Later I did wonder if there was something like a not a like a
00:07:11
history book, but like some sort of, you know, how they have like
00:07:14
certain things where they speculate what was going on in a
00:07:17
certain time with certain Lords and nobles and then so from the
00:07:22
future or whatever. And maybe he's, he found some
00:07:25
because, you know, he's, he's clearly been studying and, and,
00:07:29
you know, researching like all these people of the time and
00:07:32
who's connected to whom and without one giving a speech has
00:07:36
got to be documented somewhere. And then he has his brother and
00:07:39
then this and this and this. So I, I did wonder about that
00:07:42
once I, you know, got the confirmation, 'cause I had
00:07:46
forgotten. We talked about Richardson.
00:07:48
Yeah, before and, and I forgot about that.
00:07:51
So then when I was like, Oh yeah, we talked about that.
00:07:53
He is OK. And I was like, well, maybe he
00:07:55
just had some information from the future that was just not
00:07:59
specifically it a truth or a historical document, maybe just
00:08:05
rumors that were written down some kind of way, some journals,
00:08:08
something. I don't know that.
00:08:09
You know what that could that that would make sense,
00:08:13
especially if there was what was it that he told Claire that he
00:08:18
he has identified key players, right as far as who could
00:08:24
possibly turn the tide of history.
00:08:26
So if he was looking at the Gray family, if he was looking at how
00:08:31
if he looked into even like their parents, he would have
00:08:34
seen that they had a stepbrother, He probably and
00:08:38
Percy probably wouldn't have been anything on his his radar,
00:08:43
except for the fact that he has come into contact with Percy
00:08:47
here because Percy was the aid to the Marquis de Lafayette,
00:08:52
right? So it it, yeah, now that you say
00:08:56
that, it could have been just that Percy was in the wrong
00:09:00
place at the wrong. And then with John, the other
00:09:03
thing about John is it is kind of fishy for that time period
00:09:07
that a Lord has this one son and his and his wife and they didn't
00:09:13
have no more kids. And so The thing is, obviously
00:09:18
there are obviously there's infertility in it and whatnot.
00:09:21
But like in those times, you know, that's a big, huge thing
00:09:24
for Lord to not have a ton of airs if the, if possible, you
00:09:27
know what I mean? Like they would have tried to.
00:09:29
So I, I, you know, so there could have been rumors because
00:09:32
they didn't have no more kids that Lord John wasn't hitting
00:09:35
it, you know what I mean? Like also that.
00:09:37
So I, I, I feel like there was ways to figure these things out,
00:09:40
but it's just sad that, you know, that people just people's
00:09:45
business just ain't never their business.
00:09:47
Even back in them days, it just was never yeah, people live
00:09:52
their life. But yeah.
00:09:54
Yeah. But so, yeah.
00:09:57
So anyway, in in the midst of all this, Lord John being
00:10:00
blackmailed and everything, and Miranthus has apparently tracked
00:10:04
down William, figured out where he was or whatever.
00:10:06
Maybe she sent the letter to Mount Josiah.
00:10:09
And whoever at Mount Josiah knew where William was going, They
00:10:12
they forwarded it. But at this point, it's been
00:10:14
almost two months, you know. So Jamie, Claire and William,
00:10:19
they come back to Savannah, they try to figure out what's going
00:10:22
on with Lord John. And this is when they find out
00:10:25
about the black male. This is when they figure out
00:10:27
that Percy is the one behind it and they go to see Percy.
00:10:31
Now I'm going to admit what William apparently has been
00:10:35
getting along with Jamie very well, because.
00:10:38
He is red. Jamie.
00:10:40
So Jamie, he. Was so Red Jamie's son.
00:10:43
Like, listen, stop. I was like, that's what I was
00:10:48
talking about. Right, Jamie, Jamie sitting
00:10:51
there holding a person like that's my boy.
00:10:53
Because when I say William look like he was going, he was ready
00:10:56
to kill this dude. Oh, yeah, I had to hit like I'm
00:10:58
watching that neck. Just got him by the neck.
00:11:01
You going to give me this information?
00:11:03
What? Right.
00:11:04
Oh my God. You going to tell me about my
00:11:05
father, right? Oh my God.
00:11:08
I love this scene so much it. It was good.
00:11:12
And then of course them figuring out.
00:11:14
OK. So I will admit when Laura John
00:11:17
found the little pen and he kept looking at it, I was not
00:11:20
thinking he was going to spend all that time carving up his
00:11:25
carving up the word. But I mean, he had time to do
00:11:29
it. Yeah, he just, you know.
00:11:31
He gave them a very good clue about where he was.
00:11:33
But you know, again, Percy's whole thing about, you know,
00:11:37
Richardson, he's crazy. And you know, if, if he finds
00:11:41
out I told you, he's going to kill me, I'm like, what do you
00:11:43
think these two gentlemen are going to do?
00:11:46
Right, right here. In your face.
00:11:47
In your face. Right now, that's the thing that
00:11:50
we've always that we always say when people are being confronted
00:11:55
by the people that they've wronged and they're working.
00:11:57
They're they're the hench men for someone else.
00:11:59
Well, if he finds me, he's going to kill me.
00:12:02
You need to be more concerned about the problem that's in
00:12:05
front of you because there's two of us right now who are ready to
00:12:08
kill you and will do. But that's.
00:12:10
The thing, too, people like him who know he's wrong, people know
00:12:14
who the really good people are. His assumption is that he gives
00:12:18
a sob story. These good gentlemen, these
00:12:21
upstanding gentlemen ain't gonna hurt me.
00:12:23
But he just didn't know Williams was seeing red, and it was time.
00:12:27
And Jamie was like, Brad, look. I don't know.
00:12:30
Williams does. Spent the last two months in the
00:12:32
Ridge with his with his his birth father went for war.
00:12:38
Listen, we didn't ready to fight.
00:12:41
And he already a soldier, so it's all it's like, come on man,
00:12:44
right? Right and and and I think his
00:12:47
whole thing was OK. I can be upset about my I can be
00:12:50
upset with my daddy, I can be mad with him, I can do whatever
00:12:55
but y'all can't do nothing to him.
00:12:57
Yep, don't you mess with my. Dad, don't you mess with him.
00:13:02
And at this point, it's been almost two months.
00:13:03
Lord John could easily have been dead.
00:13:06
Oh yeah, Yeah. You know.
00:13:08
He definitely could have just cooked like and then he was in,
00:13:10
like you said, in that boathouse for two months, just like on the
00:13:14
ground. Anything could have happened.
00:13:15
He could have been bit by a rat. It could have been anything
00:13:18
could have happened. Right, he could have been he
00:13:21
could have been now malnourished because if all you eating is
00:13:24
fish it's. Yeah, with nothing else and
00:13:29
'cause it don't seem like they were getting, you know, a ton of
00:13:32
stuff. They were, they were, you know,
00:13:35
it was the bare minimum. But but yeah, they they get in
00:13:40
there and they they are able to rescue John.
00:13:43
And when they are trying to, you know, they're trying to make
00:13:48
sure that there are no other guards and Jamie is going to get
00:13:51
the boat to get them away from there.
00:13:53
Claire actually is the one that's watching over Richardson
00:13:56
because she was the one that was watching him while Jamie and
00:13:59
William went to rescue him. Now we'll say this about the
00:14:02
rescue them coming up out their water.
00:14:08
Listen, girl. Oh my God.
00:14:13
I was like, OK, whoever made the decisions for how they were
00:14:18
going to do this episode, bravo because that one scene of them
00:14:22
coming out the water and I cannot think they were.
00:14:24
They reminded me of something else.
00:14:27
And I can't remember what it was, but I was like, anytime you
00:14:30
have scenes where people just kind of sliding out of the
00:14:34
water. Out of the water.
00:14:35
Oh, you OK? I'm thinking Twilight right now.
00:14:38
Breaking Dawn. Oh, OK.
00:14:40
When Victoria's army coming out of the water, that's what I'm
00:14:44
immediately thinking of. But anytime you see somebody
00:14:47
doing that, you know some shit is about to go down.
00:14:50
Going down, I mean, they came up.
00:14:52
It's so funny because I was watching this.
00:14:54
I was like, what are they Navy Seals?
00:14:57
I found die because I was like for real, for real.
00:14:59
That that look very modern the way they came about that one.
00:15:02
Yeah, but the other thing too is you saw in that moment William
00:15:07
had no qualms about killing anybody.
00:15:10
Hey, you do what I do right? Get my dad back, but you but but
00:15:15
I will say, like the real experienced killer, you know,
00:15:20
Jamie, you know, he came with the and William stabbing in the
00:15:23
back. I'm like, no, bro, you got to
00:15:25
get him one fell swoop, because what if that that stab in the
00:15:27
back didn't work, you know, the first time, but it was still
00:15:30
good. I was just, I was very impressed
00:15:32
with the coming out of the water.
00:15:33
Yeah, and it's nice to see William and and Jamie working
00:15:37
together. Yeah, after, after all of the
00:15:41
drama they've gone through, to see that they've kind of gotten
00:15:43
to a place where they're like, OK, whatever our differences
00:15:47
are, whatever, we have one goal. We're going to ask you, Lord
00:15:51
John. But in the midst of all that,
00:15:55
when they're trying to make sure that everything is clear,
00:15:57
whatever Claire Registers are having a conversation.
00:16:01
And Richardson is basically trying to explain to her his
00:16:05
motivations for doing what he's doing.
00:16:07
And he starts asking her, well, how do you feel about slavery?
00:16:10
And she was like, slavery sucks. And so he gives her the
00:16:16
background that his great, great grandmother was the child of a
00:16:20
slave. OK.
00:16:22
And then he starts talking kind of vaguely because he's like,
00:16:27
you know, I don't expect you or anyone else to understand.
00:16:30
But if Britain is allowed to withdraw from the war, if they
00:16:36
let the colonies go, if they say, OK, you know what?
00:16:38
the US, they can have the colonies.
00:16:40
We're it, it, it's costing us more than we're going to gain.
00:16:43
We're going to leave out of it. He was like, it's not really
00:16:45
going to be a win for America because Britain is about to sign
00:16:52
their law saying, hey, slavery is outlawed, we can't have any
00:16:57
more slaves in Britain, blah, blah, blah.
00:16:59
Now, if Britain holds on to the colonies, that also goes to the
00:17:03
colonies. But of course, we know what
00:17:06
happens. America breaks away from Britain
00:17:09
and then slavery continues for almost another 100 years.
00:17:14
So Richardson is basically trying to avoid that.
00:17:20
He starts mentioning some things about what's going to happen,
00:17:25
and as Claire is listening to him, she starts piercing
00:17:29
together. Oh, this dude is from the
00:17:30
future. Especially he says, you know,
00:17:33
slavery is going to exist for at least another 85 years, and so
00:17:37
many hundreds, hundreds of thousands of people are not
00:17:41
going to be free. And then, you know, he was like,
00:17:43
he's going to lead to a war. And she was like the Civil War.
00:17:46
He was like, hey, what? Now what did you what did you
00:17:48
say? And she?
00:17:50
Was like, yeah, you're talking about the Civil War, the North
00:17:52
and the South and Gettysburg and all this other Abraham Lincoln.
00:17:56
He's looking at her like though. Oh, you thought it was just you,
00:18:02
Boo. Right.
00:18:03
And she was like, oh, you're a time traveller.
00:18:05
So then they have a conversation.
00:18:07
She was like, well, the first time I came through was in 1945.
00:18:09
That was an accident. But I came back again in 1968.
00:18:13
He was like, well, then you know what I'm talking about, Help me
00:18:16
stop it. And she was like, you can't stop
00:18:18
a war that's already been lost. Yeah.
00:18:21
And he's like, oh, you've tried. She was like, we tried with
00:18:23
Collada. And he was like, well, maybe it
00:18:25
wasn't she's an Alaman. So he was like, wait, you tried
00:18:27
it twice? She's like, look, anything
00:18:30
that's fixed like that, you can't change it.
00:18:32
As much as I would want to. She said there are certain
00:18:35
things that just can't be changed.
00:18:37
And he's sitting there just continuously trying to tell her,
00:18:40
well, maybe it's maybe. I mean, we had to have been sent
00:18:44
back for something. Would it?
00:18:45
And I think he said the same thing that what's his name said?
00:18:48
What's the whole point of us having this?
00:18:50
Ability, Ability. If we can't change things for
00:18:54
the better. Now, on the surface, I'll get
00:18:57
Richardson. I understand what he's doing.
00:18:59
I don't like necessarily the means at which he's doing it.
00:19:03
But at the same time, you're trying to find a way to get rid
00:19:10
of slavery. And if we weren't attached to
00:19:14
Lord John and we were looking at, and this is the same thing
00:19:17
we say with The Walking Dead, we were looking at it from
00:19:19
Richardson's point of view, right.
00:19:21
We probably would be like, OK, so you about to blackmail one
00:19:24
man in order to keep 100 people from being enslaved for
00:19:29
the next 100 years? You know, I can get down with
00:19:33
that. Yeah, right.
00:19:35
Yeah. But just like Claire says, you
00:19:38
know, he he eventually talks her in into it.
00:19:41
Hey, just let me go. Let me let me try this.
00:19:45
And she was like, you just have to you have to promise that
00:19:48
you're not going to hurt anybody.
00:19:49
He was like, I promise. Now I'm sitting here while she's
00:19:51
unlocking him and I'm like, Claire, please don't be stupid.
00:19:55
But then you have to think about it.
00:19:58
Claire is probably thinking if there's a way for him to change
00:20:01
this. Like how can she be selfish and
00:20:04
try to change Jamie's fate? But not allow him to but.
00:20:08
Not allow him to try to, to try to stop slavery.
00:20:12
You know, when you think about it in that sense, you can see
00:20:15
why Claire was like, OK, you know what?
00:20:17
I got to let him try because it's his cause.
00:20:20
Any more or any less noble than mine, she's trying to say One
00:20:23
person he's trying to save. A whole.
00:20:27
You know, so it's like it's one of those things where, OK, I
00:20:33
know a lot of people about to be mad at Claire, but she had to
00:20:37
let him try. But what is it?
00:20:38
The one thing we talk about time travel and and static and and
00:20:43
fixed points history is going to find a way to correct itself.
00:20:47
And as soon as he gets ready to try to leave, he opens the door
00:20:51
and Lord John shoots him dead in the head.
00:20:55
Like there, there's no coming back.
00:20:56
There's no mistake in he didn't have to double tap.
00:20:59
He made sure one and done. It was like this is for my son
00:21:03
and if I had another bullet I'd shoot you for me and for how to
00:21:07
for what you were about to do because he literally was about
00:21:09
to destroy their whole family. Yeah, yeah.
00:21:13
And and that's, you know, it just, it would have been, I
00:21:17
don't know, like, like I, I feel like you like, I feel like it's
00:21:20
kind of like that thing about like how Thanos, you know, he
00:21:24
went about it the wrong way, but I get where he was coming from
00:21:27
and the reason why he felt the way he felt.
00:21:29
But it's also that thing of like, I get you wanted to stop
00:21:33
slavery because who wouldn't want to stop slavery?
00:21:36
If if you're a person with with compassion and you know, you
00:21:40
just know slavery is wrong, but then you also have to think
00:21:42
about if you stop slavery, how many people are not going to be
00:21:46
here in the world that you know, because you changed this whole
00:21:51
outlook, which is, you know, I obviously will want my great,
00:21:54
great whomever's to not suffer slavery and just not be here.
00:21:59
But I guess, but you have to think about that like you're
00:22:01
going to change. If you actually going to change
00:22:03
history that big, you know you're.
00:22:06
Going to have some consequences. That we don't know about Yeah,
00:22:09
that would That you don't know And.
00:22:11
And honestly, do we even know it was going to be any better?
00:22:15
Not that you know what I'm saying, Because my thing is,
00:22:17
look at how they were once we got free and and they still was
00:22:21
doing whatever they did to make black people's lives horrible.
00:22:24
So I don't know that it. Was still doing it.
00:22:26
And still doing it. So I don't know that it would
00:22:28
necessarily have made things better, right?
00:22:31
Obviously you wanted to you want that to be gone, but I don't
00:22:34
know that it wouldn't necessarily necessarily have the
00:22:35
benefit that he thought it was going to have, you know.
00:22:38
And so that's the thing, like changing the future and thank
00:22:41
God we can't go back in the past because I just know we would
00:22:43
fuck it out and fuck up worse than what we already got.
00:22:47
The hell we're dealt. It's probably worse if somebody
00:22:50
go back, Tinker and what's. Yeah, because.
00:22:52
You never, you never know how that's going to how that's going
00:22:55
to play out once you change things.
00:22:57
Like if we think about even the earliest seasons going back to
00:23:00
Claire, because Claire except for Colada and she she's tried
00:23:04
to keep things like on a small scale, like, OK, if we change
00:23:08
this, what would happen if we change this?
00:23:10
What what happened? You know, and we think about
00:23:13
let's think about Blackjack, Randall.
00:23:14
OK, so it's like we went for so long thinking Blackjack was
00:23:20
Frank's direct ancestor. When we find out it's actually
00:23:23
not it was his brother, which, OK, cool.
00:23:26
So they probably could have killed Blackjack, but then what
00:23:30
would have happened when his brother died and Mary needed
00:23:34
somebody to, you know, to take care of her and to claim that
00:23:38
child is like, it could have been so many things.
00:23:41
If if Jamie would have killed Blackjack during the duel, how
00:23:46
do we know how that would have affected Claire?
00:23:49
Because again, Claire came back in time because she was on
00:23:51
honeymoon with Frank. Right.
00:23:53
If Frank doesn't exist, Claire has no reason to be in Scotland,
00:23:58
has no reason to be near the stones.
00:24:00
So it's like one small thing can affect things in a huge way.
00:24:05
So Can you imagine what what Richardson was trying to do, as
00:24:09
noble as it was? You want to stop slavery?
00:24:12
Yes, I get it. But what kind of impact would
00:24:16
that have had if he had changed that something that had already
00:24:21
happened? It's just there's no way of
00:24:23
knowing. And like Claire said, hey, the
00:24:26
history, always the set history will fix itself.
00:24:30
You can do all these different little things, but it it's going
00:24:33
to fix itself. Yeah, because it's done
00:24:36
happened. This was this was the mindset,
00:24:38
this was the pull of whatever was happening at that time.
00:24:42
And honestly, like even with even with him, you know, being
00:24:45
like, oh, you know, in England, this this and this, they still
00:24:49
didn't end slavery for until like 1830 something anyway.
00:24:53
So it didn't even even change it.
00:24:55
Wasn't immediate, Yeah. Yeah, so it's like, you don't
00:24:58
know what the outcome is going to be.
00:25:01
And I but I totally get his whole drive to to do it though.
00:25:06
And that's and it's crazy because he he founded a port
00:25:10
because he had a connection so far away from him.
00:25:13
And, you know, it's like it's that's, that's a very
00:25:15
interesting thing to like, I guess maybe he did some research
00:25:19
about the family history and was like, oh, wow.
00:25:21
Wait a minute, you know so. That was an interesting
00:25:25
storyline. I think I, I kind of enjoyed
00:25:28
that to just, you know. Now, the one thing I wish this
00:25:32
had LED into, which I understand we only have this episode and
00:25:36
the last. We don't have a lot of time to
00:25:38
do a whole bunch of stuff. But I was kind of hoping when I
00:25:42
saw the direction that this was going, I was hoping that William
00:25:46
and Lord John were somewhere listening to all of this so that
00:25:51
they could be brought into the fold about Claire being a time
00:25:55
traveler. Because I feel like Lord John
00:25:57
and William need to know. Yeah, definitely.
00:25:59
If nobody else, definitely. Lord John, come on now.
00:26:02
Right. I mean, but William needs to
00:26:04
know because it's literally Claire, his sister, his nieces
00:26:09
and nephew. But, you know, I just I wish
00:26:13
there was a way that they could have brought that in because
00:26:17
especially, you know, they probably had questions with
00:26:20
Claire, like how why the fuck did you let him go?
00:26:24
Yeah, she, she can explain it to Jamie.
00:26:27
Like, I know Jamie is probably like, Claire, what was on your
00:26:30
mind? She can go back into him and
00:26:31
say, hey, OK, so this is what I find out.
00:26:34
He was a time traveller. He was trying to end slavery.
00:26:37
Jamie will understand that because he knows how clear, how
00:26:41
strongly Claire feels about that.
00:26:43
Right. Yeah.
00:26:44
So he would understand it. Lord John and William, I think
00:26:47
it will be a little bit different because of course,
00:26:50
especially being at that time, they probably be like, oh, she's
00:26:52
just a woman. She's just being, you know,
00:26:54
she's being soft hearted. She's being, she allowed him to
00:26:57
sweet talk her into letting him go, that sort of thing.
00:27:01
I really feel like it's very important for the family as a
00:27:05
whole. Like, you know, the things that
00:27:07
we've explored this season is what happens when you keep
00:27:11
secrets from your family. And so I just feel like at this
00:27:15
point in time, especially now that later on in the episode,
00:27:18
Jamie and Lord John have kind of reconciled.
00:27:21
William and Lord John have reconciled.
00:27:23
William has kind of reconciled this thing with Jamie.
00:27:26
Now it's part like, OK you know what, we need to let y'all know
00:27:30
what's going on. Right.
00:27:32
But of course that doesn't happen, but it would be nice.
00:27:37
It would be it. Would be, I think at this point
00:27:40
and and they don't know. I don't think they know in the
00:27:42
books either. At least I know William
00:27:44
definitely doesn't. I think I saw somewhere that
00:27:47
they said Lord John, it had been hinted to Lord John, but I don't
00:27:51
remember reading that. And I've read all the books so
00:27:54
far and I don't remember it being even hinted to Lord John
00:27:58
that. She's a time traveller, yeah, I
00:28:01
think. I think I kind of vaguely
00:28:03
remember a conversation, but I don't think Lord John was
00:28:06
understanding exactly what they were trying to say because of
00:28:09
course they didn't say, well, you know, I'm from 200 years on
00:28:12
the they're not going to say that.
00:28:14
But I'm planning on doing another reread of at least the
00:28:18
later books sometime this summer.
00:28:20
So I'm going to see. But I, again, I feel like that's
00:28:25
something that kind of needs to be known at this point.
00:28:28
And then, you know, they could also explain it the same way
00:28:31
they did. We end, you know, they, they
00:28:33
gave it to him. You know how to get he, he
00:28:36
wasn't, he was what, 161615? Whatever age he was, he was
00:28:41
young when they told him, wasn't he?
00:28:43
Who was young? He was a little bit older
00:28:47
because I think when he met Claire, he was 16, He was 15.
00:28:54
And so it had been years after that because they they had gone
00:28:58
through the whole thing of chasing him to Jamaica.
00:29:03
The Yeah. So it had been a few years.
00:29:06
But still, I think especially now that William, even by his
00:29:13
own admission, he always saw things in black and white.
00:29:16
And now he's starting to see the Shades of Grey.
00:29:18
I think now he's at a point where they can tell him and he
00:29:23
might have a little bit more of an open mind about it, you know?
00:29:26
At this point he better have a damn open mind.
00:29:30
Everything that sudden went down, he better look Lord John
00:29:35
Junior, I need you to get your life.
00:29:37
Listen, listen. But but yeah, so Richardson is
00:29:42
dead and none of that is going to matter now.
00:29:46
Everybody's secret is safe so far.
00:29:48
But yeah, Jamie and Lord John, I will say the reconciliation
00:29:58
wasn't as bloody as I thought it was going to be.
00:30:01
Yeah. Which are good because when they
00:30:04
have their conversation, like they come in and Lord John is
00:30:07
thanking them for he's thanking Jamie and Claire for saving him.
00:30:12
He's like, thank you for saving my life and my reputation.
00:30:15
And what does Jamie say? He was like, well, you know, for
00:30:18
our history, I couldn't let you be, you know, killed by that
00:30:20
bastard. And then he sends it like, so
00:30:24
magnanimously, like, oh, I also decided to forgive you.
00:30:28
Claire turned her head and I thought she was laughing.
00:30:32
And then when I saw the look on Lord John's face, I said, oh,
00:30:34
this is about to get very interesting because Lord John
00:30:37
was like, well, thank you, Sir. I really appreciate it.
00:30:41
But I don't forgive you. Like, you almost killed me.
00:30:45
You have put me through hell with your treatment of me for
00:30:48
the last two years. I was like 2 years.
00:30:50
Yeah, that. That's insane.
00:30:53
It was like, basically he was like, screw you, threw up the
00:30:55
finger and walked into another room.
00:30:58
Like I I just don't want to be on the other side of that
00:31:01
Scottish anger baby, because that's the pet.
00:31:03
Two years is pretty petty, Jamie.
00:31:05
Listen, listen. But I mean, it was, it had to do
00:31:09
with Claire. So I, I, I understand it, but
00:31:12
the way that he was looking at John, when John was like, you
00:31:17
forgive me? And James was looking at him
00:31:19
like, well, yeah, I was like, Jamie, you are not reading the
00:31:22
room, baby. You are not reading the room.
00:31:26
I love that John just he he doesn't been treated he like
00:31:29
fuck this. I'm getting it off the chest
00:31:30
because he's like everything I've done for you and your whole
00:31:33
entire time we've known each other.
00:31:35
I have been doing for you, Sir, for you breath.
00:31:39
And your family. OK, and your family and you, you
00:31:45
coming at me at a time of grief because I was sad about your
00:31:48
death, your your wife, we were broken about your death and you
00:31:51
coming at me and knock my eye out my head and all this.
00:31:55
And then you think you, you think you'll forget, you better
00:31:58
get on my face. But Lord God can't wait.
00:32:00
And I was like. Right.
00:32:02
And and Claire. Claire's quiet anger.
00:32:06
She was like pride goes before fall.
00:32:08
He's like, don't quote the Bible at me.
00:32:09
The Bible? What you mean?
00:32:11
She said look at me and tell me you don't know that man and I
00:32:14
will never speak his name again. Jamie just looking the whole
00:32:17
life. Didn't nobody ask you all that?
00:32:20
Nobody. Woman.
00:32:22
Shut your mouth, woman. Right.
00:32:25
Damn you woman. Listen to your wife.
00:32:29
Like some. We're serious though.
00:32:30
Like all the things, I get him being angry in the moment, but
00:32:36
to hold on to that anger for your best friend is wild.
00:32:40
But I also believe that because they weren't in the same place,
00:32:48
it was just easier for him to just ignore it and not think
00:32:51
about it. Not like not not think about it,
00:32:53
but not deal with it because he you know it take two months to
00:32:57
get to each other from. Wherever the hell they are, you
00:33:00
know. So like, I think it was just
00:33:01
easier because he was in a different place.
00:33:03
He didn't have to deal with it, and the only thing that they
00:33:06
really had was letters right back and forth.
00:33:08
So I think it was just easier for Jamie to do that.
00:33:11
Not necessarily. I think if he had more time to
00:33:13
like actually be in the same space with him, this probably
00:33:17
would have got better sooner. But yeah, but the other thing is
00:33:22
too, I think, like, we know why. We know why what Lord John said
00:33:28
bothered Jamie so much. We know it has to do with what
00:33:31
happened to him at the hands of Blackjack Ramp Blackjack.
00:33:35
Yeah. But the thing that Jamie has to
00:33:37
remember is as as close as he and Lord John are, Lord John
00:33:41
does not know about that part of his life, does not know about
00:33:45
what happened to him. And so it does not understand
00:33:50
how that turn of phrase that your Lord John use, like we were
00:33:53
both fucking you. He doesn't understand what that
00:33:56
does to Jamie and what memories that brings up.
00:33:59
And and not just the, you know, the humiliation of having to to
00:34:04
go through that with Blackjack Randall, but also how it almost
00:34:08
destroyed him, you know, And so he was like, you know, you
00:34:12
saying that that's like a betrayal of our friendship.
00:34:14
The Lord John was like, look, you asking me to describe
00:34:17
something I didn't know how to describe.
00:34:19
It was impossible to describe. I was in grief.
00:34:21
Your wife was in grief. There was that.
00:34:25
If there was nothing else there, like they loved each other, it's
00:34:28
not like they were right, you know?
00:34:31
It's not like they just fell in love almost, you know, I, I
00:34:35
think also another thing like obviously their friendship and,
00:34:39
and the fact that he knew that he was in love with him and all
00:34:41
those things. But I think about also how she
00:34:44
fell in love with Jamie when she was married to Frank and in love
00:34:48
with Frank beforehand. And over time she fell in love
00:34:51
with Jamie. And I feel like Jamie still kind
00:34:53
of has that thing right, Like how he tried to come at her last
00:34:56
season about the sex, about her being basically being a whore,
00:35:00
like what you do like to fuck, right?
00:35:02
Like he kind of came to her like that real nasty.
00:35:04
And I do wonder if like his mindset about that was like,
00:35:09
well, you know, you, you was married when we met and you fell
00:35:13
in love with me. So you know what I mean?
00:35:15
Like I, I feel like Jamie just, he just sits in his head too
00:35:19
much. And I think he just needs to
00:35:21
understand it's the Jamie Fraser effect.
00:35:23
Like, just get used to it, dude. Just get.
00:35:26
Used to it bro, it's what it is. Right.
00:35:30
I mean, I'm, I'm just saying, but I'm glad he and Lord John
00:35:33
were finally able to like, air their grievances out.
00:35:36
Yes. And and and basically be able to
00:35:39
say like, look, you know, like you said, Lord John was like,
00:35:42
look, I have done everything for your family, everything.
00:35:47
Like, I have had to sacrifice a lot.
00:35:49
And, you know, rather that's what Jamie said to him.
00:35:52
Like you sacrificed a lot to take care of my child and to do
00:35:56
this and for my family, and you deserve better than that.
00:36:00
And John was like, yeah, I have sacrificed a lot, but he was
00:36:03
like, William has never been a sacrifice.
00:36:05
That is like the greatest joy of my life.
00:36:08
Oh my gosh. And, you know, for for them to
00:36:13
kind of acknowledge those things and to kind of put everything
00:36:17
out like that because again, things are men in the 1800s,
00:36:20
they don't share their feelings like that.
00:36:22
The fact that they finally were able to do that, and then Jamie
00:36:27
was actually able to say, I am sorry because what it was what
00:36:31
what is it that he said he was like, yeah, Fraser men are
00:36:34
stubborn, Fraser people are stubborn.
00:36:36
We don't apologize much, you know?
00:36:39
And then who was it Lord John brought up, Lord Lovett?
00:36:44
He was like, yeah, your grandson, that grandson, you
00:36:47
said don't apologize. Wasn't he the one that was hung?
00:36:51
Maybe he could have been a little bit more.
00:36:56
Yeah. Look like, yeah, we know that
00:36:57
dude. We know he ain't that tight.
00:37:01
But when, when Jamie was like, you know, what can I do?
00:37:06
What, what can I do to, like, fix this or to, to make this
00:37:10
whole? And Lord John started
00:37:12
unbuttoning his short sleeves. But yeah, I think he bought the
00:37:17
whoop Jamie's ass. He's like, yeah, I did.
00:37:19
I did a redression. But then all he was like, he was
00:37:24
like, look, he was like, the last time we did this, you gave
00:37:28
me a thrash. And so now it's it's my turn.
00:37:30
And Jamie was like, yeah, I deserve it.
00:37:33
He points to the table and all he wants is a chess game.
00:37:36
And I was like, OK, that made my heart feel full because I was
00:37:40
like, OK. I love that they are able to
00:37:45
kind of start back on kind of like Ground Zero.
00:37:49
Like OK. How they build our grievances.
00:37:52
We we've said what we need to say.
00:37:54
OK, now let's get this friendship back on track.
00:37:57
And you do that by the chess game because that was how it all
00:38:01
started for them. So I like that full circle
00:38:03
moment. It was nice, sweet.
00:38:05
And I was like, OK, y'all, y'all try to make me cry in these last
00:38:08
couple episodes. OK, whatever.
00:38:10
But it was sweet. It was sweet and it was.
00:38:14
Very sweet. And then you get William having
00:38:16
his conversation with Claire outside, which I think I was
00:38:19
like, OK, this is the William I have been waiting for.
00:38:23
Like you have the William who is still in some ways a child when
00:38:28
it comes to his feelings about both of his father's.
00:38:31
But having someone to voice that to and to say, well, how can I
00:38:36
love 1 and and still love the other and not feel like I'm
00:38:41
betraying them? But I was like, at least he
00:38:46
admits now. Like, OK, yes, I love Jamie, I
00:38:49
love my father, I love both my father's.
00:38:51
But I don't want either one of them to feel less there.
00:38:54
And then when Claire gave her answer, I was sitting there
00:38:58
like, wow, You know what? There is a lot of people with
00:39:01
two fathers in this family. It's kind of like Brianna
00:39:03
Television. Like you sure do not.
00:39:06
You sure do know a lot of people who are rebels, William.
00:39:10
You know a lot of people who are in your situation.
00:39:13
Claire has had two people. And I will say this, I got a
00:39:16
little bit excited when she mentioned Henry because that's
00:39:18
the first time she's ever mentioned either of her parents
00:39:23
by name ever. So I was like, OK, are we about
00:39:26
to get this tie in because she mentioned Henry?
00:39:30
But she mentioned Henry and Uncle Lamb about, you know, I
00:39:33
only knew my father until I was 5 and then my Uncle Lamb raised
00:39:37
me. Brianna had two fathers, Rodger
00:39:40
had two fathers and technically, if you think about it, Ian had
00:39:45
two fathers because he had big in and then Jamie also raised
00:39:49
him was just kind of like, do you?
00:39:52
We good, everybody is good. We're all like we had our
00:39:55
issues, but we're all well adjusted.
00:39:57
We all love the people that that we were supposed to love.
00:40:00
We love them equally. It doesn't.
00:40:02
It doesn't take anything away from the other one, you know?
00:40:06
And it's hard because like we talked about previously, like
00:40:10
being a child with two dads, it is hard because depending on who
00:40:15
the dads are, they're, you know, like my stepdad definitely was
00:40:19
not the one that he, he wasn't the one that wanted to hear me
00:40:24
call my daddy daddy because my daddy didn't raise me, you know,
00:40:28
And like, whenever I would talk about him, he wanted to make
00:40:30
sure I clarify, yes, he's my father that produced me, but he
00:40:35
is not my daddy 'cause he didn't raise me.
00:40:37
And, you know, I, I, I get where Williams come from because even
00:40:40
now I still have to like, make sure when I'm talking in one
00:40:44
way, I try to phrase things a certain way 'cause I, you know,
00:40:47
I don't want him to feel a certain kind of way 'cause my
00:40:49
father is now gone and my step dad still here.
00:40:53
But like, it's a thing like, that's a real fear.
00:40:55
I get where Williams come from because even when even when
00:40:59
around my, my, my around my father, like I would be like my
00:41:02
dad and I would just immediately change to my dad's real names
00:41:06
when talking. And he's like, it's fine, you
00:41:08
could call him dad. He raised you.
00:41:10
It doesn't bother me. And so.
00:41:11
But that was something I was afraid of.
00:41:13
You. Know for years like I didn't
00:41:15
even want to talk about the two different relationships you know
00:41:19
so it I I think that was really good what Claire gave him and
00:41:23
like explained to him and yeah. Yeah, it's.
00:41:26
Real good. Yeah, and then of course we see
00:41:29
them getting ready to leave and Jamie has the same little look
00:41:34
on his face like he's about to cry.
00:41:36
And I was like, Jamie, if you don't turn around and look at
00:41:39
this boy. And when he did, the way that
00:41:42
Williams face kind of changed, I was like, OK, like y'all were
00:41:47
giving me all the feels in this episode.
00:41:49
And again, I have to remember Diana wrote it, so I think she
00:41:53
was probably one. She was like, OK, let me give
00:41:56
y'all the closure that y'all may or may not get in the books.
00:41:59
Because again, this this has not happened in the books yet,
00:42:03
right? You know, in the books at the
00:42:06
end of book 9, William is just now getting to the Ridge to ask
00:42:10
for Jamie's help because he already knows that Lord John has
00:42:13
been gone, has been missing. Like I explained in the books,
00:42:19
Percy meets his end in a very different way than he does here
00:42:23
in the show. He's actually poisoned by a
00:42:28
bottle of wine that I think was sent to Lord John.
00:42:32
It was supposed to be, I think it was supposed to poison how
00:42:34
when he got there. But anyways, it's just a whole
00:42:37
bunch of stuff. But but the fact that he looked
00:42:41
back, you know, has his closure moment.
00:42:46
And then I was sad because I was like, does this mean we're not
00:42:48
going to see Lord John and William for the final episode?
00:42:52
Like, is this it for them? Like that would make me sad
00:42:56
because that means that you left your son didn't let didn't tell
00:43:00
him. Of course, because he doesn't
00:43:02
know about Frank. He doesn't know about the
00:43:04
future. So you can't really tell him
00:43:06
that, Hey, when I fight in this war, it may be like this right
00:43:10
now may be the last time you see me.
00:43:13
Right. But also, I think when Claire
00:43:17
talked to him on the Ridge about it, I think she kind of gave him
00:43:21
an inkling that, you know, with everything going on, don't let
00:43:25
this be the, the end of, you know, whatever.
00:43:27
So I think they'll, he'll be all right, 'cause he'll have that
00:43:30
comfort that she gave him about, you know, 'cause they settle
00:43:34
things and things are good. So I think she'll, I think he'll
00:43:36
be. OK, yeah, but I'm sad because I
00:43:40
hope that doesn't mean that this is the last time we're going to
00:43:42
see them. Yeah, I was kind of hoping that
00:43:45
they would just all go to the Ridge, just, I feel like Lord
00:43:48
John need a break. Listen, Lord, John needs to get
00:43:53
out of Savannah right now. Just, you know, just go on a
00:43:56
trip, go see the countryside. Yeah, You know, go see the.
00:44:00
Fan, but you know, I if he goes to the Ridge, would he really
00:44:05
get a break? No, no you wouldn't.
00:44:09
No. And then you got folks like
00:44:11
Campbell who would come up and probably be like, oh, wait,
00:44:14
that's Tori. No, we don't.
00:44:15
Need. No, you're right, that is true.
00:44:17
I forgot about that. Oh, that.
00:44:19
Oh, that guy. Yeah, that guy who shows up at
00:44:21
the end of the episode, but. Teaser teaser.
00:44:24
Oh he makes me want to throw up. I hate him.
00:44:28
I know I don't like him, but so so we so after all of this, of
00:44:35
course Lord John, he goes to pay Percy a visit.
00:44:42
Now this was what what was going to be interesting to me because
00:44:45
I didn't know how he was going to handle this.
00:44:48
And of course Percy is sitting there.
00:44:50
I didn't want to do this and I'm so sorry.
00:44:53
Can you forgive me? Can can I what?
00:44:58
No, I cannot. So when John walks in there and
00:45:04
and he lays the gun on the desk and purses, like, really?
00:45:09
And Lord John was like, yeah, depending on how you answer all
00:45:12
this, I was like, oh, Lord John is serious.
00:45:15
But then, like you said before we got on here, there are
00:45:19
moments where you have to remember that Lord John is in
00:45:22
the army. Is in the army.
00:45:24
A commanding officer, which means he didn't he didn't sing
00:45:27
some shit, he didn't done some shit.
00:45:28
He. Didn't done some stuff.
00:45:29
You know, we we always look at him when we think about the
00:45:32
gentleman that he is right, but. Yeah, he's been in the military
00:45:39
for a long time. For a long time, like since he
00:45:42
was a teenager, yes. So he pulls out this confession
00:45:47
and he was like, yeah, all you have to do is sign this, say
00:45:52
that you were part of Ezekiel's thing and everything that you
00:45:56
did, you know your confession was a lie, that you guys
00:45:59
blackmailed such and such and got him to confess, and it was a
00:46:02
lie. And then, you know, I will turn
00:46:05
this in to the authorities. You will be arrested and my
00:46:09
reputation will be clear. It's the least you can do.
00:46:12
It's the least you can do. Oh, and by the way, yeah, you
00:46:15
might want to sign this because Ezekiel is dead.
00:46:18
Yeah. You could go the same way.
00:46:20
It just depends. He was like a person is like
00:46:24
what's what's going to happen if I sign this?
00:46:26
He was like, look, it can be ink on that paper, it can be your
00:46:28
blood. Either way it goes, I'm good.
00:46:32
Either way, it's going to be a change.
00:46:35
A change. Don't come listen.
00:46:38
I was like, OK, Lord John. Girl and that person, of course.
00:46:44
What makes me so mad about it too, though, is he's afraid.
00:46:48
Running around, afraid of this one man.
00:46:52
And he didn't have enough guts to go to jail.
00:46:55
Right, like you, you you so-called love Lord John.
00:47:01
But when you have a chance to do the rectify your mistake.
00:47:06
Yeah, what you did, your betrayal of him.
00:47:09
You rather die. But you know, when he sat there,
00:47:13
he signed it, and then what was it?
00:47:17
I hope you can forgive me. And Lord John just looked at him
00:47:20
and turned around and walked off.
00:47:21
He busted with tears. Something told me.
00:47:24
I said, you know what? He's not going to let that
00:47:27
stand. No, no.
00:47:29
And of course, that's what cowards do.
00:47:31
Yeah. Because, you know, that's his
00:47:33
reputation now on the line and he going to jail.
00:47:37
So you know what they're going to do to you in jail.
00:47:38
You, you look like a fancy Lord or whatever.
00:47:41
You, you know, and you are probably screwed around so many
00:47:44
people. It's just like when a cop go to
00:47:47
jail and the prisoners is like, oh, like you can't.
00:47:53
Yeah. And so he knew he wasn't going
00:47:55
to survive. He was going to be somebody.
00:47:58
Yep. But Lord John walks out the
00:48:00
office and he hears A gunshot. Was like, at least he waited
00:48:03
until Lord John was outside before he did that.
00:48:07
So no one can say, oh, you did this?
00:48:09
No, I was standing outside in my very bright red British Army
00:48:15
coats. Yep.
00:48:17
And he did it after he signed, so it was a confession of
00:48:22
wrongdoing. And then he killed himself.
00:48:24
So he clearly is guilty. But that I was like, Lord John
00:48:29
is a thug. Look at him coming over here.
00:48:33
You can take the window or the stairs, but either way you're
00:48:36
getting hurt. He was like, look, it can be
00:48:41
your ink on that paper of blood. I don't care either way it goes.
00:48:47
It's just such a waste, though. You killed yourself, but you
00:48:50
were so afraid of this man killing you.
00:48:52
But you, you, you still killed yourself.
00:48:54
So what? What did it get?
00:48:56
What did you get? What did you gain a couple of
00:48:58
more days of living to to to do this man you claim you love
00:49:03
Wrong. That's.
00:49:05
Yeah, just just yeah, hate him. But here's my question with him
00:49:12
being dead, did Marshley go see him before he died?
00:49:16
No, Yeah, yes, girl, what happened with Mark?
00:49:21
OK. I hope they do tie that up and
00:49:23
let us know. And don't did Marshley get her
00:49:26
coins before this man died? And I guess honestly, she didn't
00:49:32
necessarily have to go through him 'cause honestly, she could
00:49:34
have probably contacted somebody in France and just been like,
00:49:39
you know, we had this knowledge. But I don't know.
00:49:43
That's a good question. I hope they don't just leave
00:49:45
that man. I hope they.
00:49:46
Don't. No, I'm sure.
00:49:47
Because if you think about it, from the time that Lord John got
00:49:51
taken to the time that William and Jamie got to him and two
00:49:54
months had passed. So I'm sure she didn't sit there
00:49:58
for months on end and just be like, OK, I'm not going to do
00:50:01
it. So because if you think about
00:50:04
it, even from the time that William got to the Ridge and
00:50:10
Fergus died, it was probably several weeks in between that.
00:50:14
So I'm sure, I'm sure she got her stuff done.
00:50:17
That's just how the the sale of the land went through and now
00:50:20
she got her money and she doing whatever, you know.
00:50:24
I just also hope that like they show her again and that wasn't
00:50:27
the end of her story on the show because that would suck.
00:50:31
That would suck. I mean, we got one more episode.
00:50:34
Like I said, we got to have some kind of reunion, even if, God
00:50:40
forbid, that Jamie dies on the battlefield or whatever the
00:50:44
whole family's going to have to come to.
00:50:46
But we're not even going there. We're not going there because
00:50:49
Jamie cannot die. He can't die, period.
00:50:54
Point blank. He cannot die.
00:50:56
Claire better do her best. That's all I got to say.
00:50:59
Listen, she bet. What are you good for, Claire
00:51:02
Samuel? But one other thing happens this
00:51:07
Savannah and I'm I'm I'm a little bit sad that Michelle is
00:51:10
not here to discuss it because I know she was so happy.
00:51:13
Yeah, she would be so proud of Lil William.
00:51:17
Because he told Amaranthus no. She.
00:51:20
Basically was like, she was like, so we, we, we having this
00:51:25
conversation about forgiveness. Can you forgive me?
00:51:28
It was like, yeah, I can, I can forgive you.
00:51:30
I understand what you were doing.
00:51:31
You know you were trying, you were trying to take care of your
00:51:34
child. She was like, so does this mean
00:51:37
that we can still go on the way that we were going on?
00:51:40
He was like, you don't want me to lie, do you?
00:51:44
When he said that girl. I paused the TV and started
00:51:48
laughing. I'm so sorry.
00:51:50
Like I Amaranthus, I feel you girl, I understand.
00:51:53
But you literally tried to take advantage of this man, and then
00:52:00
now you still want him to marry you when he knows that your
00:52:07
husband is alive. Yeah, maybe on paper, he's dead.
00:52:10
On paper, he has a whole nother existence.
00:52:14
He's another person. But this is somebody William
00:52:18
loved. This is somebody that he
00:52:20
idolized, that he looked up to, that was close as a brother to
00:52:24
him. You really think that he's still
00:52:28
going to marry you knowing that this man is alive out there, so
00:52:33
you want him to be a bigamist on on top of everything else?
00:52:36
Right. And William was like, you know
00:52:38
what? No, I wish you the best.
00:52:40
I hope you find somebody to love you, but it ain't going to be
00:52:43
me. And just, you know, he has to
00:52:45
feel like some kind of way about that anyway, just because the
00:52:50
fact that, you know, they already talked about it, like
00:52:51
you thought I was weak. You thought I was, you thought I
00:52:54
was the, you know, a mark or whatever.
00:52:56
But like, you know, William falls in love too easily.
00:53:00
And then he, he knew he was only feeling 'cause he felt sorry for
00:53:03
her. And then she was a pretty girl
00:53:05
and he just felt like he was going to do the duty of a good
00:53:08
person and blah, blah, blah. But then once all the, the fog
00:53:11
cleared, he realized he probably realized he really wasn't in
00:53:14
love with her number one. But then he also realized like
00:53:18
they would have started together and been together in a whole
00:53:20
lie, just like, 'cause what would have happened if
00:53:23
everything changed? And then this man come back and
00:53:25
want his wife back, you know, like, I don't know that I'm
00:53:30
glad. I'm glad he got his his heart
00:53:32
together and got his mind right. Yeah.
00:53:35
I can't wait to hear Michelle talk about it.
00:53:38
I know I can't wait. But she, she hasn't even seen
00:53:41
the episode yet. So I'm like, OK, I I just can't
00:53:45
wait because I'm sure once she watches it, we going to be
00:53:48
getting a text message. Like, finally he did something
00:53:52
right. But, you know, that could also
00:53:54
be two, two months of being on the Ridge.
00:53:58
Yeah. You know, getting to know Jamie,
00:54:00
having that reconciliation with Jamie, probably finding out more
00:54:04
about Jamie's story or finding out more about who Jamie is.
00:54:08
You know, the, the William that we see in this episode is a
00:54:13
completely different William that that we've seen before.
00:54:17
He really has matured. He really has grown.
00:54:19
He really does, I think, understand that, like you said,
00:54:23
everything is not black and white and he's starting to be
00:54:26
able to look at things and say, you know what things are a
00:54:28
little bit more complex than I all then I always thought they
00:54:32
were. And maybe now he can look at
00:54:34
things differently and, and kind of discern things in a different
00:54:38
way and and just accept things in a different way and say, OK,
00:54:41
you know what? Maybe this is not ideal, but I
00:54:45
don't have to be so gung ho against it.
00:54:46
Maybe I can just, you know, accept this or, you know,
00:54:50
whatever the case may be, but I I like this version of William
00:54:54
and I'm glad he's not going to end up with Amaranthus.
00:54:57
I hope that becomes the same case in the book.
00:55:01
Yeah. Yeah.
00:55:03
Because I don't, you know, it's the story in the book is a
00:55:06
little bit, again, a little bit more detailed because you have
00:55:10
like whole books where you can explore that particular
00:55:14
relationship. But yeah, I just, we need to be
00:55:18
by himself for a little bit. Yeah.
00:55:21
And just, you know, like live life, live life.
00:55:25
And also like, did he, did he get out of the military
00:55:27
completely? He got out, right.
00:55:30
So now he, I think he needs to go either travel or, you know,
00:55:38
maybe decide he's going to keep his life in America.
00:55:40
Like he needs to figure that out.
00:55:42
He needs to go hang on the Ridge and get to know his new nephew.
00:55:46
Brianna had her baby. Oh yeah, little baby's here.
00:55:51
Yeah, there's little baby's here.
00:55:56
Yeah, so Brianna has her baby. She comes in the house and she's
00:56:00
having a conversation with Jamie and basically Jamie tells her
00:56:06
about Frank's book because she never read the book.
00:56:09
Right, he didn't never read it. Know what Frank said?
00:56:12
So he basically was like, yeah, so Frank said something about
00:56:17
the war, and she was like, you're not coming back, are you?
00:56:19
He was like, yeah, Frank says I die in this war.
00:56:22
She was like, well, just don't go, don't go.
00:56:24
We just, we just had the same conversation about trying to
00:56:27
change things. Yeah.
00:56:29
Even if he doesn't go, something is going to happen if it's to
00:56:33
make sure that he is on that mountain.
00:56:35
Yeah. And like he said, look, the
00:56:39
thing for me is I will gladly die if I know that I'm
00:56:43
protecting all of you. It's just it's it's so much more
00:56:47
than just me being alive. Yeah.
00:56:49
Yeah. It's his whole family's
00:56:51
well-being, right, you know, and but it's also like that's that's
00:56:59
I don't know, like that's what I I don't need to know the things
00:57:04
that are happening because that's I'm glad, like I ain't
00:57:06
got no sight. I ain't I ain't no, but I don't
00:57:09
want to know because this right here like trying to change
00:57:12
things and always having to live up to knowing that a thing is
00:57:15
going to like even with the what's his name, Cunningham,
00:57:18
like him knowing that he was going to die in what seven years
00:57:21
or whatever for five years, like that whole.
00:57:24
I don't want to know because I don't want to be I don't want to
00:57:27
be hyper focused on that because I feel like he was definitely
00:57:30
very hyper focused on that because even though he he
00:57:33
thought he was going to do whatever for the army or
00:57:35
whatever, but he never once considered that his life was
00:57:37
going to be jacked up the way it was for them.
00:57:40
And. He was being reckless with it
00:57:41
too, like, Oh yeah, OK, I'm not going to die.
00:57:45
They say you ain't going to die. They ain't say you was you
00:57:47
wasn't going to suffer. You know what I mean?
00:57:48
Like, yeah. So I don't, I don't, I don't
00:57:51
want to know. I don't want to know.
00:57:54
That's yeah. And so I don't need like the
00:57:57
fact they have to live with this.
00:57:58
And just he's been holding on to this for how long now?
00:58:01
I think over a year at this point.
00:58:04
So yeah, I mean it. Yeah, it has been over a year
00:58:08
because Bri, it's probably been closer to the two years because
00:58:12
Brianna has gone through a whole pregnancy.
00:58:14
Pregnancy. Yeah, yeah.
00:58:16
And it was months before that. They have been there months
00:58:20
before she got pregnant. So yeah.
00:58:23
But I that conversation she had with Jamie just broke my heart
00:58:27
because she was like, look, I don't want my grandchildren to
00:58:30
grow up without you. For all those years.
00:58:32
She was like, I just got you. And technically speaking, y'all,
00:58:36
y'all been in each other's lives now for about 10 years.
00:58:39
But still, you can understand she's kind of like look.
00:58:44
Yes, but then they left for some years because Mandy was just
00:58:50
born and she's what, like 6 or something like that?
00:58:53
So. It's like, yeah, but that that
00:58:57
little conversation also broke my heart because it's kind of
00:58:59
like, did I come back just to lose?
00:59:03
You. You know, eventually that's
00:59:05
going to happen. I mean, they're your parents and
00:59:07
you know, that that's kind of the natural order of things.
00:59:10
But still, it's kind of like I felt, I felt Brianna's pain in
00:59:14
that conversation. It's just kind of like, Nope,
00:59:18
you just don't, just just don't go.
00:59:20
And he was like, yeah, I can't do that.
00:59:22
You know I can't do that. That's not.
00:59:24
That's not. Every time we've tried to change
00:59:26
something, yeah, you know, but I don't like it.
00:59:34
I don't like, I don't like this whole war thing and honey, so
00:59:38
many wars. And.
00:59:40
Yeah, yeah. Like we we just stay fighting
00:59:42
war as humans. I.
00:59:43
Swear we're the worst. Yeah, but the the other thing
00:59:47
about this episode. So what did you think about
00:59:51
Claire starting her book? I thought that was interesting
00:59:56
because I for some reason in my brain, I was like, OK, she's
01:00:01
writing a book and she's like about my family.
01:00:03
And I was just like, OK, what if this?
01:00:07
Is a big the book that like? You know, like this is Diana's
01:00:12
book or so I don't know, some weird like sports wall type
01:00:16
thing or something or or somebody finds it in the future
01:00:19
and reads about her story. I don't know, like I don't know,
01:00:22
I had all kinds of thoughts, but I thought it was really cool.
01:00:25
But I also thought, like JP, so damn nosy.
01:00:30
Hey, what you doing? Yeah, give me.
01:00:31
I'm like, is she right? Maybe it's her diary.
01:00:34
Damn Jamie keep being played for plus ain't no secrets between
01:00:38
now I. Know that made me laugh though.
01:00:41
He was just like, give me to me. I want to see what you're
01:00:43
talking about. And then to hear him read it and
01:00:47
it it, it's very reminiscent of hearing Claire do the voice
01:00:51
overs, which is another thing that they did in this episode is
01:00:54
like, you get the voice overs that start in the episode, which
01:00:58
we haven't had that in such a long time.
01:01:02
Yeah. So that was the thing too, that
01:01:04
kind of made me be like, it really is almost the end because
01:01:07
this was how this series started.
01:01:10
We got Claire's introduction at the beginning and then you got
01:01:13
like a little something of hers at the end of the episode.
01:01:16
And it just made me so sad because now we only have one
01:01:20
left. There's one left and not, and
01:01:23
the one we got left is going to be a bunch of killing.
01:01:27
Because it's war. Because it's war now.
01:01:30
I think I did see I have to go look at it again.
01:01:35
I did look at the preview for next episode.
01:01:38
I do think I remember seeing that William does come back to
01:01:42
the Ridge. OK, yeah, I didn't remember
01:01:45
because. I think I remember seeing that,
01:01:52
but I don't know if Lord John comes with him.
01:01:57
I mean, it would be nice, but also would Lord John come,
01:02:02
considering those are rebels, you know, fighting, I mean, and
01:02:08
they're fighting against, they're going to be fighting
01:02:10
against some of the British officers and the British militia
01:02:13
or whatever they have. But I don't see Lord John,
01:02:17
especially after what just happened.
01:02:19
Jamie literally just came and saved your life.
01:02:20
I don't see Lord John being on the opposite end of him.
01:02:24
Yeah, I mean, at this point, like just move on, Lord John the
01:02:28
Brit, it don't even matter no more.
01:02:29
Just be American. Call it a day.
01:02:33
Right, because how many times have British folks tried to kill
01:02:36
you? Yeah, yeah, blackmail you and
01:02:39
and kill your son. Yeah, if you are, you are rebel.
01:02:42
You are rebel by default now at. This point, same thing with
01:02:47
William. That's the other thing with
01:02:48
William. I'm like, well, I have an
01:02:50
allegiance anymore. You know why?
01:02:53
Right. Nobody in your life pretty much
01:02:56
has allegiance to the Crown anymore.
01:02:59
But one episode left, we got some more and and The thing is,
01:03:06
even the actors don't know how the show is going to end because
01:03:10
apparently they filmed four different endings.
01:03:15
I hate, I hate when they do that.
01:03:16
I know they have to do that to keep spoilers down but like.
01:03:20
But apparently Ron Moore is the only person who who?
01:03:23
Who knows? What the ending is going to be?
01:03:26
Ending this. So yeah, I don't even at this
01:03:34
point, I don't even know if I want to speculate.
01:03:37
I, I, I feel like, I feel like Jamie is not going to die.
01:03:44
I feel like Claire will probably end up saving him with her
01:03:48
little her little power be fully white haired by the end.
01:03:53
That's the Raymond. Powers.
01:03:55
Yeah, but I I don't know. But beyond that, I don't really
01:04:04
have any expectations. Like I said, I know what I
01:04:07
prefer. I I would like to see everyone
01:04:09
on the Ridge. I would like it to end with
01:04:12
Jamie and Claire just kind of looking over everything and
01:04:15
feeling satisfied with life. I don't know if they're going to
01:04:18
put the whole Jamie's ghost thing in the show as far as why
01:04:24
we saw his ghost in the first episode.
01:04:27
But, you know, at this point, I don't know if for the show, it's
01:04:33
as important as it is in the book.
01:04:35
I know in the book we're supposed to find out in the
01:04:37
10th, the 10th book and she's always said it was going to be
01:04:40
in the in the last book. OK.
01:04:44
But yeah, at this point, look, Cunningham can die or not.
01:04:52
Cunningham, Campbell. Campbell.
01:04:54
Yeah, Campbell can die because I I I don't like him.
01:04:58
I just don't like, you know? You owe me.
01:05:02
Just the way he talks, just everything about his whole
01:05:04
everything, this actor. Cleveland.
01:05:07
That's his name. Cleveland.
01:05:08
His this actor like he, he's putting too much.
01:05:12
He's putting too much because I I just like his face.
01:05:15
I hate everything about him. I hate everything about him so I
01:05:21
want him to die ASAP. Yeah, but I mean, everybody else
01:05:26
needs to be OK. I I do know that at the in the
01:05:32
promo, you see Jamie kind of giving a speech to everyone.
01:05:37
You do see Ian there and his full Mohawk war paint.
01:05:43
I didn't see anybody else. Like, I don't know if the twins
01:05:46
are going to be there because they really haven't been in the
01:05:51
in the season as much. Yeah, I mean.
01:05:53
You've seen one or the other, but we've never seen both of
01:05:56
them now. Yeah.
01:06:00
Other than that, I just. It's coming to an end.
01:06:04
I'm very sad and I don't, I don't even want to speculate on
01:06:09
what's going to happen. I, I just, I just hope Jamie
01:06:12
doesn't die. Yeah, I mean, I I would be
01:06:15
satisfied with them, just like you said, just being able to
01:06:20
live their life on the Ridge and move on and things are fine.
01:06:26
I know that's like, you know, the happily ever after and all
01:06:30
that. No problems with happily ever
01:06:33
after. None.
01:06:35
It's just like, no, I just know people.
01:06:37
I know how people are. Well, it's not realistic and but
01:06:39
I feel like they have been through so much that let them
01:06:45
have their piece. Yeah.
01:06:47
This woman, she'd have been almost hung like 50 times.
01:06:50
He'd have been almost hung like 50 times.
01:06:52
You know, he didn't got, she didn't got shot.
01:06:54
He didn't get, I mean, whipped. I mean, all this stuff they've
01:06:57
had shot. Snake bite stabbed after.
01:07:02
Trauma after trauma. Fever yeah like yeah, but I'm
01:07:09
looking at the the promo now in the background so I do see Buck,
01:07:13
I see Rodger. Oh, let me say this too.
01:07:15
If you look at the the promo, you know how they had the
01:07:18
different shots Rodger has on his full minister's uniform and
01:07:24
his hair. I don't know what it is they did
01:07:26
with Roger Mack like this season, but this season Roger
01:07:31
Mack has been like smackish times 10.
01:07:34
Like he's always looked good. I've always loved Roger.
01:07:37
I've always loved. Good.
01:07:39
Yeah, no, he's a good looking. Dude, but this season, I don't
01:07:42
know if maybe it's just him being back in the 1800s because,
01:07:46
you know, 19 sixties, 1980s Rodger, he was cool to
01:07:50
especially, especially when he had on that blue sweater and the
01:07:52
kilt. That was like a killer look.
01:07:54
But I don't know, something about since he came back to the
01:07:57
Ridge, maybe it's because he's more comfortable.
01:08:00
I don't know. But I'm, I'm liking it.
01:08:03
Yeah, I I'm liking it. I'm feeling it.
01:08:07
I'm feeling it, but I. See some of these people in this
01:08:10
this crowd that Jamie is talking to.
01:08:12
I see Hiram Crombie over here. I was just about to.
01:08:14
Bring it up. So I, I, I guess the people who
01:08:18
got who almost got exiled, they were like, OK, look, if we going
01:08:23
to stay here, we got to fight we.
01:08:25
Got to fight you got to prove your loyalty.
01:08:27
And this, this is how you do it. Because real talk, be a coward
01:08:31
now and I'm just going to shoot you in your head.
01:08:34
Might as well. Be in because if you're not
01:08:36
going to fight with me, then you don't need to be on my land.
01:08:39
That's it. Like I, no, I don't need you
01:08:42
because what do you? What's your purpose?
01:08:45
But I saw him and I was about to ask you.
01:08:47
I'm like, so you see that one of the first people in that line
01:08:51
right there was was crying me. What you think about that?
01:08:53
I was just about to ask you that, 'cause I just.
01:08:56
Oh yeah, William. Is on the Ridge, I think, yeah.
01:09:02
So we'll see. Maybe he is gonna.
01:09:06
Maybe he is gonna fight. I do.
01:09:09
I don't know. I don't know.
01:09:12
I just know one thing. Oh boy, better not come for him
01:09:16
'cause he got a British accent or something.
01:09:19
Crazy. Oh no, because all Jamie has to
01:09:23
say is this is my son. That's automatically off limits.
01:09:29
Off limits don't come. Don't come looking.
01:09:32
So plus William again. William is not part of the
01:09:36
British Army anymore, so he really wouldn't have no reason
01:09:41
to go after William unless he finds out.
01:09:44
Oh, yeah, he used to be part of the British Army.
01:09:47
But you know what? All of the rebels used to be a
01:09:49
part of the British Army at one point or the other.
01:09:51
So, so you know, and, and I think at this point, William,
01:09:57
like you said, he just need to come on over to the to the rebel
01:09:59
side because the British side didn't treat you all that well,
01:10:03
Sir. And you probably ain't going
01:10:05
back over there. And your daddy here.
01:10:09
Both. Look.
01:10:09
Both of your father's, he was like that.
01:10:12
I'm never going to get used to that.
01:10:14
Get used to it there. Both of them are here.
01:10:16
I don't. I don't even see if.
01:10:18
I don't even know if I see Lord John going back.
01:10:20
Especially if William decides to stay.
01:10:24
No, because for, for one, for one thing, it's right now it's
01:10:28
still even though there are laws, but there's British rule.
01:10:31
But once there's no British rule, things will be, it'll be
01:10:34
it's different laws and different things coming into
01:10:37
play and so it just might be better for him to just be there
01:10:41
anyway. Just quit the army and just just
01:10:47
live as a as a whatever. But yeah, British Army has not
01:10:52
really been treating y'all well, so let let Hal have it.
01:10:58
Specialist says how apparently is of the type where, you know,
01:11:02
Richardson was like, yeah, if he doesn't if it what was it?
01:11:07
If he doesn't do what I want him to do, then you know your your
01:11:13
safety might be compromised. He was like, you wouldn't think
01:11:15
my brother won't care about that.
01:11:17
Like when it comes to when it comes to standing on his
01:11:21
principles politically, that's what's important to how, you
01:11:25
know, 'cause I think even in the books, you know, like I said, in
01:11:28
the books, the way they have it, Hal finds out that Ben is a
01:11:31
traitor. I think, I think.
01:11:35
But yeah. So basically, he he goes to find
01:11:39
Ben and I think he's going to find Ben to challenge him to a
01:11:43
duel. Because you know you, you now
01:11:46
besmirched the honor of our house.
01:11:49
You know. Dishonor on us, Dishonor on our
01:11:51
cow. So, yeah.
01:11:55
But yeah, that would look, Lord John can come to the Ridge.
01:12:03
William can come to the Ridge. They can help Jamie defeat, you
01:12:08
know, whatever the you know, he can.
01:12:10
They can help him fight in this this backwater war and and be
01:12:15
done and live to fight another day.
01:12:17
But we won't get any more days. We only have one more episode
01:12:22
left. One more episode.
01:12:26
Oh man. Oh, but but then, you know,
01:12:32
it'll be the end of Outlander. But at least we'll still have
01:12:35
blood on my blood. We'll still.
01:12:36
Have Blood on My Blood, which premieres I think August 8th for
01:12:40
season 2. We still have conventions and
01:12:43
stuff. Lancome.
01:12:45
Lancome is coming in October to Austin, TX.
01:12:50
They've got a really good guest list.
01:12:51
They just announced Tony Curran. I mean a huge list.
01:12:55
They are really getting them. They, they're getting a good and
01:12:57
I think they they could have been getting more.
01:13:00
But there is another Outlander convention happening overseas
01:13:04
that same weekend that I know certain people are going to be
01:13:09
at. Like I think I want to say merch
01:13:12
is going to be at that one. I think Dougal is going to be at
01:13:15
that one somebody else. I was like, OK, so we're not
01:13:20
going to get some of those people.
01:13:22
But I mean, it's a it's a really good guest list so far.
01:13:25
Pretty good guest list though. Pretty good because what William
01:13:28
John, we've got William we've got gay list.
01:13:31
We've got we look I like I hated.
01:13:36
Her, but she's one of my absolute favorite characters.
01:13:39
Like, listen, hands down, yeah, she's amazing.
01:13:46
Yeah, so Tony, Tony Kern is the first announcement they've made
01:13:50
from blood of my blood. So I'm hoping we'll get some
01:13:53
more blood in my blood people so that I can like really had go
01:13:57
have like a fangirl moment. But yeah.
01:14:00
Yeah, that, that. Would be good, like even for
01:14:02
blood. In my blood I would take like
01:14:06
Minnie Doogle or Minnie Doogle. We do go.
01:14:09
That ain't so we. Any of them.
01:14:13
Because I, you know, like I said, I absolutely adore that
01:14:17
show. Yes.
01:14:18
So, and I'm glad it's coming back in August because that
01:14:21
means that now, because it's coming back before Dragon Con,
01:14:25
we can actually do a panel at Dragon Con.
01:14:27
I've already reached out to them.
01:14:28
I was like, hey, but my blood is coming out in August.
01:14:31
Dragon Con is at the end of August, beginning of September.
01:14:34
So I mean, it was, it was similar last year because they
01:14:37
they premiered in August. And so I think at the time that
01:14:41
Dragon Con happened, we had 4 episodes under our belt and we
01:14:46
had a pretty good discussion just with those 4 episodes.
01:14:49
So yeah, bring it on. So.
01:14:53
Yeah, I know. Yeah, that's what I say.
01:14:55
Didn't they have like how many episodes did they have?
01:14:57
Was it 8? 1010, OK, I think it was 10.
01:15:01
So so yeah, so we we got some time to talk.
01:15:04
It's not like Outlander is completely over.
01:15:07
Yes, the flagship show show is over.
01:15:10
But I'm going to be honest too, I don't know if I feel like it's
01:15:16
the end for those characters, you know, because they have said
01:15:19
something before about after the 10th book is released, like they
01:15:25
could come back and do something with that or they, you know,
01:15:28
they, there's been some things thrown out, like maybe come back
01:15:31
and do a final movie or something like that.
01:15:36
I, I wouldn't be mine. I mean, I wouldn't mind.
01:15:38
And then they also say something about like a story like Brianna
01:15:41
and and Roger's story too, like I.
01:15:47
Think part of the part of the problem with that is not that I
01:15:51
say it's a problem because I actually do like Brianna and
01:15:54
Rodger, but I know a lot of people who are like the hardcore
01:15:57
Outlander fans. They don't really care about the
01:16:00
children or, you know, as far as that they they just want to
01:16:04
Claire, that's all they want to see.
01:16:06
And I've I've actually seen that in comments, even talking to my
01:16:11
best friend over the weekend, I hung out with her and she was
01:16:14
talking about how she needs to get caught up on Outlander.
01:16:17
She was like, but The thing is, she's like, they keep showing
01:16:19
the children too much. I don't care about them.
01:16:20
I care about claiming Jamie and Claire.
01:16:23
That's all I want to see. But I saw another comment
01:16:28
online, actually, I saw it earlier today was somebody was
01:16:32
complaining. They said why haven't we seen
01:16:35
Claire as much in this season? I feel like we're seeing
01:16:38
everybody else's story but hers and this supposed to be her
01:16:42
story. And I'm like, I, I understand
01:16:46
that and I get it. But I also feel like the show is
01:16:51
kind of taking the natural route it's supposed to.
01:16:54
Like as the parents get older, yeah, the storyline shifts from
01:16:59
them and it goes into the children because that's who
01:17:01
they're. They're like, yeah, Jamie and
01:17:03
Claire, they love each other. They're about each other, but
01:17:06
they're also about their family. And in all of his extensions,
01:17:10
because, like I said, in the books, you know, Lizzie and the
01:17:13
twins are part of their extended family, Fergus and Marshall.
01:17:17
Because in the books, Fergus ain't dead.
01:17:19
But anyway, you know, they're a part of this, the little the
01:17:24
little girl Agnes, whose parents are the flip free slaves in the
01:17:30
books, Like I said, her father or her stepfather after she,
01:17:34
quote UN quote, put them in danger by going to get help for
01:17:37
her mother. He put her out.
01:17:40
She came to Claire and Jamie and she's with them now.
01:17:42
So it's like they've always been about their family and taking
01:17:46
care of them. So I feel like the story kind of
01:17:49
bleeding down into to the others is a natural progression, but at
01:17:53
the same time, we've been seeing a lot of Claire this season, I
01:17:56
think. I don't feel like it hasn't been
01:17:57
a lot of Claire. Yeah, I mean that The thing is
01:18:01
like, I feel like when they were younger and it was they're
01:18:06
building their relationship, that made a lot of sense.
01:18:09
It was a lot of Jamie and Claire constantly.
01:18:12
Whatever, whatever. But like you said, if it would
01:18:15
be different if it that was a, if it was a show where they
01:18:18
never aged or like, you know what I mean?
01:18:19
Like it was just a continuation of them in their 30s or their
01:18:22
20s or whatever. But it's not.
01:18:25
It's literally passage of time and it's they can't, they can't
01:18:28
just be by themselves all the damn time.
01:18:30
Right and I mean, we've literally seen them age from the
01:18:33
20s to the they're in their 70s now, right They're.
01:18:37
Old and they, they have children like, I don't know.
01:18:39
I don't know. That's weird to me that people
01:18:41
don't want to see the their family.
01:18:44
Like that's who makes them who they are.
01:18:46
Is their family. The, the, the hardcore, you
01:18:49
know, like love affair stuff. Yeah, it's it, it happened.
01:18:55
It was there. And then this is the extension
01:18:58
of what that love affair means that they have this family, this
01:19:01
huge family. Like, I don't, I don't know.
01:19:03
That's I mean, I get it, I guess, but I just don't it
01:19:08
doesn't bother me that they're talking.
01:19:10
I want to see more about other people.
01:19:12
Yeah, yeah. And plus y'all kind of had to
01:19:15
make up for some of this because y'all completely left some of
01:19:18
them out. Like we didn't see Ferguson
01:19:19
Marshall at all in the last season.
01:19:23
So y'all kind of had to make up for that.
01:19:25
Especially if you're closing the story out, right?
01:19:29
You got to wrap up those those loose ends.
01:19:31
And I think they are really doing a good job of that.
01:19:35
Like even though yes, I think some of the stuff is dragging on
01:19:38
too much. I can understand what Michelle's
01:19:39
saying. Like, look, we only have 4
01:19:40
episodes. We only have three episodes.
01:19:42
We don't have y'all need to y'all need to, you know, close
01:19:46
this off. I think like the whole
01:19:48
Richardson thing, the the way that they brought the Richardson
01:19:51
story back in and even with Rob camera, they brought them back
01:19:55
in. They closed it up nice, neat
01:19:57
little, but well, maybe not neat, but nice little bow closed
01:20:00
up the storyline and and it's done.
01:20:03
You know, there is no lingering information.
01:20:06
There's no, there's no OK, what happened with this?
01:20:12
No, they closed, they closed it out.
01:20:15
You know exactly what happened to those characters.
01:20:18
Right. Yeah, I think they're doing a
01:20:21
good job. Now it's just a matter of what
01:20:23
they do with the final episode. And I think I saw a rumor
01:20:27
somewhere that the last episode is supposed to be like an hour
01:20:30
and 20 minutes. I don't know if that's true.
01:20:33
I haven't. Oh yeah, I remember you said
01:20:34
that in a chat. I mean, if it is, I won't mind
01:20:39
that, just that just prolongs the end.
01:20:42
Don't make don't make it a short one because you still there's a
01:20:45
lot to still wrap up honestly, and I don't want them to be
01:20:48
fighting the whole freaking damn.
01:20:49
No, I I don't want to see a whole episode of war.
01:20:52
I don't That is not how I want to like you started this this
01:20:58
story as a love story, even though it was starting with
01:21:02
Frank and Claire as a love story, but still it started as a
01:21:07
love story and then we followed this love story.
01:21:09
That's how it needs to end. Yeah, that's another reason why
01:21:12
I said Jamie doesn't need to die.
01:21:15
I don't. I don't want him to die.
01:21:17
Like, yeah, understand they can be realistic.
01:21:20
Whatever. Whatever I don't have.
01:21:22
To have realism. No, it's he's a magic.
01:21:25
Look, they've had magic throughout this whole entire
01:21:28
relationship, and now you want realism?
01:21:30
No, Jackie can No. Jamie, I don't need anybody else
01:21:34
to die. That Fergus took it out.
01:21:36
That just took me. Listen, that was the one in Dawn
01:21:40
right there. That just that was the one that
01:21:42
done because that one really wasn't necessary.
01:21:46
Especially if let's say if we aren't going to see Marsley for
01:21:51
the final episode. What?
01:21:53
What purpose did that serve to kill him off?
01:21:57
Y'all could have had them living happily in Savannah with their
01:22:01
children, with their new baby, you know?
01:22:05
But again, I feel like, OK, you killed off the old son so he can
01:22:08
have this relationship with the new son like y'all couldn't.
01:22:10
Like, you don't think William would have been cool with a
01:22:13
brother, you know? I kind of, I kind of hope they,
01:22:20
I don't know, I kind of what I will say one thing I kind of
01:22:22
hope they do is the progression of time so we can kind of see
01:22:27
Jamie and Claire real, real old and then all the the grandkids
01:22:32
grown up. But I don't know, it's going to
01:22:37
end. It's going to be.
01:22:38
Over, you know, I know I'm not ready.
01:22:43
I'm not ready. I'm not ready.
01:22:44
I think, I think I'm gonna have to drink some alcohol that
01:22:47
night. Oh God, so the tears don't
01:22:49
really float in we grow. They gonna flow regardless.
01:22:53
I know I'm going to be a hot blubbering mess.
01:22:55
I already know this I. Have tears like at midnight or
01:23:00
whenever they drop it because you know it's going to be all
01:23:03
over the Internet. I know, and that's what I'm
01:23:06
thinking, but I'm like, I know I'm going to be crying.
01:23:09
I'm going to be a mess trying to go to work on Friday morning,
01:23:12
but I'm going to have to because even like even for last week's
01:23:18
episode, No, it might have been this episode.
01:23:21
I opened up Google search and this happened.
01:23:24
This is what happened to me with with Fergus's death, right?
01:23:26
I remember. That I opened up.
01:23:28
Google search, and it was one of the things that was on the
01:23:31
Google search as far as like trending stories, right?
01:23:34
So even with this one, I opened up Google search to look for
01:23:38
something else and it was like has something about Lord John.
01:23:44
Oh it was talking about Lord John's rescue but then it also
01:23:47
said Outlander kills 2 characters in final season.
01:23:53
I was like who the fuck else did they kill?
01:23:55
Science Fergus. But because they mentioned Lord
01:23:58
John in the same headline, that's why I was like.
01:24:03
They plan. They plan on fire.
01:24:05
I was like, if y'all killed Lord John, it's going to be on and
01:24:10
popping because no, that is one person y'all are not allowed to
01:24:14
touch. Like y'all weren't allowed to
01:24:16
touch Fergus either, but that's already that's been done.
01:24:19
Y'all can't touch Lord John? And to be honest, TV has a very
01:24:24
bad Hollywood. It specifically has a very bad
01:24:27
habit of killing gay folks, and that is not acceptable.
01:24:31
So no, you will not kill Lord John.
01:24:33
He will thrive. Yeah.
01:24:35
Yeah, that's no, we will not. Drive and find him a man and I
01:24:40
don't know. I mean, you know.
01:24:42
A roommate, you know, I mean, he got a, he got a partner up at
01:24:48
Mount Josiah, he said. So, you know, maybe he'll, maybe
01:24:53
he'll go back to Mount Josiah. He'd be like, you know what,
01:24:56
fuck, fuck the British Army and all this other shit.
01:24:59
I'm I'm going to the mountains. Yeah.
01:25:01
I don't want to have nothing to do with none of this stuff.
01:25:04
And I mean not. Josiah is not that far from the
01:25:06
Ridge anyway, so. Yeah.
01:25:09
Still go visit. Yeah, but leave Savannah for
01:25:13
show, though. Because ain't nothing good
01:25:16
happened in Savannah. Fergus died in Savannah.
01:25:18
Lord John got kidnapped in Savannah.
01:25:20
No, I I need Savannah is not the place to be.
01:25:24
No. I need y'all to go but OK we
01:25:32
have one episode left. You have any final thoughts
01:25:38
about this episode? Oh, I'm so glad that Jamie and
01:25:43
John are back friends. Girl, I'm so happy 'cause that
01:25:49
just. I honestly like overdue it.
01:25:52
Yeah. Because that.
01:25:54
That, that what what he gave John still haunts me because I'm
01:25:57
just like, he really tried to murder that man.
01:26:01
And what if he had murdered him with all that?
01:26:04
And then, you know, later in life he wouldn't.
01:26:07
Oh, girl. So that.
01:26:08
And him and William would never have spoke again like William
01:26:11
would have never. And he might have, would have
01:26:14
been put in jail because William would have got the British Army
01:26:18
to arrest Jamie, I'm sure. Because, you know, it's
01:26:21
brilliant. Yeah, because Lord John was, he
01:26:25
was commissioned back into the army at that point, but didn't
01:26:29
know about it. But yeah, that would, yeah.
01:26:32
I'm just happy they made-up besties and.
01:26:36
That him and that Jamie and William have have now have
01:26:40
bonded. Yes.
01:26:41
So. So I got part of what I needed
01:26:44
for for the end of the show, Yeah.
01:26:49
If y'all want to find a way to wreck Con Fergus's death, I
01:26:52
don't. Have I don't have a problem with
01:26:54
that. It was all a dream.
01:26:56
Look if Master Raymond can bring faith back from the dead, y'all.
01:27:00
Oh my God, girl, where that shark?
01:27:06
Where that shark at? There's a shark out there that
01:27:08
they were jumping over with. Girl, listen.
01:27:10
Listen. OK, we're almost at the.
01:27:16
End for folks, this is it. This is it.
01:27:21
So hopefully we'll have Michelle on the last one.
01:27:26
I'll know she is in full senior mom mode right now.
01:27:30
Her daughter is getting ready to graduate from high school in a
01:27:32
couple weeks. So it's and and you know, she
01:27:36
works in education, so it's year end stuff and award ceremonies
01:27:40
and this that and others. So hopefully we'll have her on
01:27:43
for the final one so she can, she can talk with Glee about the
01:27:47
fact that William and Amaranthus are not together.
01:27:50
And then we can we can all have a nice little therapy session
01:27:54
about the end of Outlander. You can get her notebook.
01:28:02
No, we're not doing notebook ending.
01:28:04
And on that note, that is it for our show.
