#outlander Claire is captured and returns to Fort Ticonderoga as a prisoner, where she sees a familiar face. Ian infiltrates the Fort to rescue Claire, but runs into a small complication when he is recognized by one of the soldiers. A careless mistake put information about time travel into the wrong hands. Roger discovers the identity of Jem’s “Nucklavee” is closer to home than he thought possible.
Just a reminder that Outlander returns for the second half of Season 7 on Friday, November 22.
00:00:25
What's up, hybrids? Welcome back to another episode
00:00:27
of the Phantom Hybrid Podcast. This is Hanukkah and I'm here
00:00:30
with Michelle and we are catching up with our Outlander
00:00:36
episodes. We are talking about Outlander
00:00:39
Season 7 Episode 6. Part 1.
00:00:46
It's been a minute since we've discussed Outlander.
00:00:49
Well, it's a podcast. We we did have a couple of
00:00:54
panels at Dragon Con last weekend that were fun.
00:00:58
And I have caught up on all the books and that makes watching
00:01:03
the show now a little interesting because I see what
00:01:06
they've pulled out and what they've kind of changed.
00:01:09
And I'm like, how are they about to finish this in, in the back
00:01:14
half of season 7 and season 8? I have a lot of questions.
00:01:19
Yeah, because they I do too. But Michelle has not read the
00:01:23
books yet. Sorry, everyone.
00:01:26
That's OK 'cause we, we gonna get it done before Season 8
00:01:29
starts, right? That's what we said.
00:01:30
Wait, wait me, when is season 8 coming out?
00:01:33
Probably not until 2026 at. This Oh yeah, I got time.
00:01:36
Yeah, I I got time. I'm sorry.
00:01:40
I'm like, oh, we still got to get Part 2.
00:01:41
I have time. Yeah, we still have what it is
00:01:45
probably about 70 something days till Droughtlanders over.
00:01:50
So yeah, November 22nd is when the second-half of Season 7 is
00:01:55
coming back. Season 8 is, I think Katrina was
00:02:01
on a press junket this weekend for her new movie that's coming
00:02:06
out. And she said that she has about
00:02:09
a month of filming left for Season 8 and then it's going for
00:02:14
Lauren Lyle Marsley. She's already done.
00:02:17
She already posted her goodbye to Marsley post.
00:02:21
And I was like. And this is for season 8.
00:02:24
Oh wow. So then season 8 can come out
00:02:26
next year. Maybe, but I mean it, I don't
00:02:33
know. I, I, I think I'm saying 2026 so
00:02:36
that when we finally get the date and it, if it is 2026, I'm
00:02:40
not so disappointed because. I'm you know, from drought
00:02:43
Lander, it's going to be 2026. So we just yeah, even if we get
00:02:47
if it's and. If they.
00:02:48
Say finished now. Then we'll just.
00:02:51
There'll be a bonus. And we'll just be happy.
00:02:54
But right. Now and it look it'll be a
00:02:56
bonus. Yeah, I'm putting it in my mind
00:02:58
2026 right now, but that's a long time to wait because I
00:03:05
mean, I didn't realize that it's been a year since the first part
00:03:10
of season. 7 ended. I haven't.
00:03:14
I didn't realize that either. I didn't.
00:03:18
And it's, it's like these cable shows I'm I'm, I'm trying to
00:03:24
stay involved, I'm trying to stay invested.
00:03:26
There's no chance of me losing interest in Outlander.
00:03:29
But still y'all pushing the envelope a lot because it's a
00:03:36
lot of time in between these two parts, which I understand they
00:03:41
gave us extra episodes for season 7.
00:03:45
Takes a lot longer to film, edit all of that stuff.
00:03:50
And I'm just kind of like. Can can we?
00:03:52
I know and it's it's hard to because they're ending it and
00:03:58
the books are not finished and that caused me stress.
00:04:03
So we're doing a little crossover here guys.
00:04:06
If you didn't know anything about Game of Thrones.
00:04:09
See that causes me stress because I need them to end it
00:04:14
right? Even though the books are not
00:04:16
done. Right now, I do know Diana
00:04:21
Gabaldon has said on her Facebook page because someone
00:04:26
asked about whether or not she has told them how she plans to
00:04:30
end the books. And I think right now she
00:04:33
doesn't even know for sure how she's ending the books.
00:04:36
I think one of the ladies on our panel last weekend stated that
00:04:41
she has made mention once or twice that there may end up
00:04:45
being an 11th book. We don't know.
00:04:48
Oh my goodness. She said that she has given them
00:04:53
some notes on things that happened in Book 10, and I'm
00:04:58
assuming those are things that are relating to the show.
00:05:00
Because like I said, there are certain things that up till this
00:05:04
point, like we have William already at Fort Ticonderoga, we
00:05:08
have the rebels who have already escaped, and Claire has gotten
00:05:12
captured. So there are certain things in
00:05:15
the books that should have happened at this point, but
00:05:19
they've not mentioned those. Like one of the characters that
00:05:22
we see now, he actually is, he's playing a dual role.
00:05:28
Like he's supposed to be another character that's mentioned in
00:05:31
the books that has something to do with some another plot point.
00:05:36
But I don't see how they're going to tie that in now because
00:05:38
they didn't introduce the other character, the other version of
00:05:41
the character he's playing. So it's just kind of like, I
00:05:46
don't know, I think they're they're taking bits and pieces
00:05:48
of storyline and I think they're going to keep some of the most
00:05:51
important stuff like the Roger and Bree stuff.
00:05:55
Of course, the stuff with William, because we see him a
00:05:57
lot more in this episode as well.
00:05:59
And I think we're going to start seeing more of him because in
00:06:03
the later books, the story really heavily involves him.
00:06:06
Like you see Claire's point of view and you had Jamie stuff,
00:06:09
but William takes up a good part of the real estate in books 7-8
00:06:16
and 9:00. So and So what can happen is we
00:06:21
can always have a spin off where we take care of William on the
00:06:27
side, but what I need to happen at the end is for Claire and
00:06:33
Jamie to die together. Like this is the notebook, OK.
00:06:38
And from that, and they're older, so then she can write as
00:06:42
music books as she want. Because we don't know what
00:06:45
happened from a certain point where they flash forward to them
00:06:47
died in the bed. So some things could have
00:06:49
happened in between. We don't know.
00:06:51
That's in those, you know, book 10:00 and 11:00.
00:06:54
But they die, they die together. 1 cannot exist without the
00:06:59
other. Yeah, I do.
00:07:01
I do feel like that, like. Right.
00:07:03
They they die in each other's arms, yeah.
00:07:06
Especially so the last three days, I think some someone
00:07:10
mentioned, I think it was Lisa. Hi, Lisa.
00:07:13
If you're listening, I think Lisa mentioned on the show panel
00:07:19
at the time, I think there was like 83 days left in
00:07:23
Droughtlander. And she said, you know what?
00:07:25
She said there would be exact number of days in Droughtlander
00:07:29
as there are episodes of the show.
00:07:31
So if you start watching from Season 1, episode 1 today and
00:07:35
watch one episode per day, you will watch the show all the way
00:07:39
up to November 22nd, which is when 7B premieres.
00:07:45
It's like, oh, OK, I think I'm going to do that.
00:07:48
And then I didn't do it for the first couple of days because
00:07:51
post Dragon Con, I'm sitting here trying to, you know, get
00:07:54
back, get back into the swing of things.
00:07:56
So yesterday I finished yesterday, but Saturday, Sunday,
00:08:03
yes. Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
00:08:05
Actually, I watched all of Season 1.
00:08:09
Well, most of Season 1 I watched everything but the Wentworth
00:08:13
prison stuff because no. I can't do that.
00:08:15
I had to fast. So I've seen those scenes I
00:08:18
think maybe twice or three times total, and I forgot how brutal
00:08:28
they were. So it's like.
00:08:29
I'm yeah it the. Start of it and that first
00:08:33
assault, I was like, Oh no. No, I still I'm like to me it
00:08:37
will be my 4th time and it's still every time is the same
00:08:41
feeling so I don't need to watch it again.
00:08:43
I get it. Fast forwarded, I get it.
00:08:45
I was. Like.
00:08:47
OK, that's for. OK, well, and I heard, I heard
00:08:49
her say it before Procrastinator.
00:08:52
That doesn't work. OK, I need to wait for two weeks
00:08:55
before Part 2 come out and try to cram me in.
00:08:59
I'm not doing that kind of thing anymore because trying to read 3
00:09:04
Outlander books 3 weeks before Dragon Con.
00:09:10
But you did it. I did it, but I have not done
00:09:13
that kind of power reading in so long.
00:09:17
And it was like Echo through the Echo in the Bone was kind of
00:09:21
slow getting through written in my own heart's blood.
00:09:25
I did that in one day and I don't know what it was about.
00:09:28
That's like, there were a lot of moving pieces and there were a
00:09:32
lot of fast moving pieces. So that book was a breeze.
00:09:35
Bees was a little bit more slow because you're still telling all
00:09:40
these different stories. But she also is a very
00:09:45
descriptive writer and there are some parts where I was just
00:09:48
like, I don't need all this. I don't need all this detail.
00:09:51
Just tell me what's going on with this person, this person.
00:09:53
But I really did enjoy reading the books.
00:09:56
And so now I'm sitting there going through the website and
00:09:59
going through everything like, oh, we're the daily lines for
00:10:02
book 10. Like I need, I feel like I, I
00:10:04
feel like I'm like going through withdraw.
00:10:06
I feel like a junkie. I need some more book 10 stuff.
00:10:09
I need more like there's certain characters and certain things.
00:10:12
I'm just like. To see it.
00:10:16
And I'm not getting enough of it in the show at this point.
00:10:19
But we're still early. We're still, we're still in the
00:10:21
first part of Season 7. Hopefully stuff will start
00:10:25
picking up with certain things November 22nd once we get the
00:10:29
episodes back. OK, yes.
00:10:32
OK, that's. OK, so OK, so where we're at
00:10:35
Episode 6 episode. Six, we're not going to order
00:10:40
cause I am playing in the background and I have some, I
00:10:44
got some stuff I need to say. We need to talk about your your
00:10:48
screen name and this time travelers guy and how.
00:10:52
Doggone how do you write a book, write a journal for your
00:11:04
children? I get it, you want them to
00:11:06
understand the insurance and outs of time travel.
00:11:09
You want to write it down. How are you not paying attention
00:11:13
to what you are doing with this book to the point where this
00:11:16
creepy ass Rob Cameron gets his hand on it?
00:11:21
Yeah, yeah. But I get it.
00:11:26
I get it. It's frustrating because.
00:11:32
There's so much information he's putting in the in this journal
00:11:36
because it's for Jim and it's for Mandy.
00:11:38
It's for them to understand where they come from, the
00:11:41
experiences that they may go through if they decide to go
00:11:44
back, whatever the case may be, just to understand more of who
00:11:47
they are. Mandy's not going to remember
00:11:49
anything 'cause she was a baby when she came through the
00:11:51
stones, But Jim remembers a lot. Yeah, they still need to ask me
00:11:55
about the the treasure, but OK, I'll leave that alone.
00:12:00
I don't know if they do 'cause he might write it down
00:12:02
somewhere. And then, yeah.
00:12:05
And then it'd be gone. But I mean, even in this episode
00:12:10
you have Roger going to the school to teach Gaelic.
00:12:12
First of all, the teacher who sat there and did Jimmy's ear
00:12:17
because he cussed at her and Gaelic, I was like, OK, first of
00:12:22
all, this was definitely the 80s.
00:12:25
Because you can't do that shit now.
00:12:26
No, can't touch him. Can't touch him.
00:12:29
Can't touch him. Rodger goes into the school to
00:12:32
teach, you know, to teach a class on the Gaelic because it's
00:12:37
something that the current inhabitants of Scotland have
00:12:41
been trying to kind of like, you know, push out of the way and
00:12:45
not have their kids growing up knowing their language, knowing
00:12:48
their history. Rodger goes to the school.
00:12:51
OK, fine. While you're sitting there
00:12:54
writing your book and you're talking with your wife, you move
00:12:58
the book over here to your stack of hymnals and you go do
00:13:02
something on the shelf. And then you're reminded, oh,
00:13:04
you're running late. Hey, can you pack my bag?
00:13:07
Put that stuff in? Like, she just grabs the stack,
00:13:11
which again, I understand she didn't know.
00:13:15
But then when you were getting ready to pass these hymnals out,
00:13:19
Roger, did you not feel that hardcover book?
00:13:22
Yeah. In the midst of all of these
00:13:24
thin hymnals you had. And you didn't think, huh?
00:13:27
Why is that so heavy? Like then for Rob Cameron of all
00:13:35
people to get this thing and come up to Roger, like, oh, you
00:13:40
writing a little bit of the science fiction I like that was
00:13:43
like something there's something I write about the dude.
00:13:47
No, there's something not at all right about him.
00:13:50
But I almost, it almost feels like, do you think maybe you
00:13:56
already knew something? I kind of wondered that because
00:14:03
they when when they were having a conversation and he said
00:14:08
something to Roger about loving the class and he was like, Oh,
00:14:11
yeah, I love all the old stuff. I don't know if maybe that's
00:14:17
just me being ultra perceptive or maybe it's because I mean,
00:14:22
because I know a little bit about what happens, of course,
00:14:24
because I read the books. But even in the books, it's not
00:14:29
really clear that he knows something, knows something.
00:14:34
It's just that he's very weird. Like in this episode when he's
00:14:38
having the conversation with Rodger and he's, you know,
00:14:41
they're talking about Brianna and Rogers.
00:14:44
Basically just let him know, look, I know you want them
00:14:47
fuckers that was messing with my wife and Rob is coming off all
00:14:51
night. So yes, she's the best
00:14:52
supervisor we've ever had. And he starts telling his sob
00:14:55
story about his sister being a widow and he's, you know, taking
00:14:59
care of Bobby for her. And you know this he starts,
00:15:03
they start having a conversation about the home cooked meal.
00:15:06
He basically invites himself over like, oh, we should do that
00:15:10
one day. I would love home cooked meal.
00:15:11
I was like, does that. And then again I had to remember
00:15:16
this is in the 80s. People did that all the time.
00:15:20
You had. You had.
00:15:22
The kind of thing where you went to someone's, you know, you went
00:15:26
to someone's house unannounced without calling, just knocked on
00:15:29
the door. Hey, how you I have to remember
00:15:33
that that's the time that they're in because you
00:15:35
definitely don't do that now. No, but I I, I still think maybe
00:15:40
he does like old things and then research.
00:15:43
He came across like someone writing about that and then bam,
00:15:48
he sees this book, right? Or he already like target them.
00:15:53
It just feels a little funny. It does it, and I don't know if
00:15:57
I feel like it's that he knows, because in this conversation he
00:16:07
almost feels like he's being a little flirty with Roger.
00:16:12
So sick. Because he's just being slimy
00:16:16
and he's trying to ease his weight into a relationship,
00:16:19
which is why I feel like he knows something or that was a, a
00:16:25
target. That's why I feel that way.
00:16:27
It wasn't like he was kind of like, hey, nice to meet you.
00:16:29
And then later sees the book reading and be like, oh, hey,
00:16:32
can I come over for dinner type of thing.
00:16:34
But he started off the relationship like being close
00:16:38
into his space and everything so.
00:16:41
But again, 80s that nobody cared about personal space back then.
00:16:45
It was just that's that's kind of how you were.
00:16:48
You were in someone's face talking.
00:16:50
And yeah, I guess he just, he's. The weird guy.
00:16:54
He it is, and it's something about the it's something about
00:16:57
his mannerisms. Because.
00:17:00
He seems, he seems overly aggressive, but also not so much
00:17:07
so it's, it's like a weird thing he does and it just, it makes
00:17:12
you feel uncomfortable, like, oh, I don't know if I want this
00:17:15
man around my child. I don't know if I want this man
00:17:18
around, you know, it's just I, I don't know, there there's
00:17:22
something, there's something not quite right about this man.
00:17:28
And again, like I said, I know, I know for Roger, it was a, it
00:17:33
was a, it was a mistake, you know, putting the book in there,
00:17:38
but you're coming from the past, you are putting this stuff down
00:17:45
on paper. And I think we had this
00:17:48
conversation, if not on this podcast, I think we've had it
00:17:51
like in person talking or even during the panels last week.
00:17:55
It's like at a certain point, you have to be more mindful of
00:18:00
the things that you are doing because even though, yes, you're
00:18:04
doing this in the comfort of your own home, you're doing it
00:18:06
and you know, around people who already know this information,
00:18:10
mistakes happen, carelessness happens.
00:18:13
And I think they've probably just gotten too comfortable
00:18:18
because why would you have that? Again, I know it was an accident
00:18:26
it getting into the hymnals, but there was something that should
00:18:29
have told you that something wasn't right when you, like I
00:18:32
said, when you picked it up and told Jim to pass it out,
00:18:35
something should have told you something that feels like a book
00:18:41
in between these sheets of papers.
00:18:42
I mean, we've all taken elementary school music.
00:18:45
We know how thin those the sheet was a kid.
00:18:47
But I'm and but I the only reason why I'm not trashing him
00:18:51
because I've done that a few times having stuff within other
00:18:56
paperwork and be like that was meant to be there.
00:19:00
However, again and then they pass it out in the class.
00:19:05
That's why it's so confusing like you should have.
00:19:07
You should be able to see that he reading your book.
00:19:11
Right, if you're paying attention.
00:19:15
So I don't know. I just, I just.
00:19:18
It's not like he it's a class class class full.
00:19:21
Right. I mean, there's not a lot of
00:19:23
people there, but I, I just feel like, I feel like they're
00:19:29
getting too comfortable. You know, it's one thing I think
00:19:33
when you're in the past and you're from the future, because
00:19:36
you're always being mindful of what you're saying, what you're
00:19:39
doing to make sure people don't know that you're.
00:19:42
Different in that sense. And when you're reading it, it
00:19:46
doesn't sound like a fiction, right, 'cause that's the
00:19:50
problem, 'cause you can't even say, oh, me and my kids are
00:19:52
making up. We're creating this time travel.
00:19:55
They really in the time travel. Right, 'cause you're really
00:19:57
saying your grandmother, your grandfather, your granddaddy,
00:20:00
you know, and it's, it's very oddly specific as far as you
00:20:07
know, the thing with the Ley lines and the stones and like
00:20:12
it's very, very specific so. I I think them being in the
00:20:19
present has made them a little bit careless because they're in
00:20:25
their own time now. They don't have to have certain
00:20:28
things except for, of course, talking about the past, you
00:20:31
know, Rodger talking about where he picked up a lot of his Gaelic
00:20:35
and, you know, having to talk about his father-in-law.
00:20:39
And I think the idea is that they're telling everybody, you
00:20:43
know, of course, the Breeze parents are dead.
00:20:45
So it's just they're walking a very thin rope.
00:20:51
And I need them to be more careful because again, this Rob
00:20:53
camera don't seem like he on the up and up.
00:20:56
With. That and then on top of all of
00:20:59
this, now you have a visitor at the end of the episode, we find
00:21:05
out who this knuckle of it is, and it's the same motherfucker
00:21:08
that tried to hang Roger or getting Roger hang and not even
00:21:12
try. It's the same motherfucker that
00:21:14
had Rodger Hayne. Rodger, Hayne.
00:21:16
Which is his 5-6 times great grandfather.
00:21:20
I was like, wait, how in the world?
00:21:24
But then again, like we talked about it last weekend, he's gave
00:21:29
us his son. So it it, it's coming down on
00:21:35
that, you know, on that, that side of the family, but it's
00:21:39
like, oh, y'all are about to have some issues.
00:21:42
Now, right, Which that's that's the part that's amazing that I
00:21:47
want her to write more about later.
00:21:51
What about about Buck coming through?
00:21:54
Just the, just like how it works, there's a time travel and
00:22:00
then it just being, Yep, being passed on, right?
00:22:04
Because of course Rodger has it. He can do it.
00:22:07
Jim Mandy and Brianna Clear. But you know, so I know that she
00:22:19
does, she does describe it from different points of view in the
00:22:23
book. Like, we hear Buck's version of
00:22:26
what happened and we, I think, you know, you get him telling
00:22:31
the tale of how he ended up there, which I'm sure is going
00:22:34
to be weird for him because at least with Rodger and Bree, when
00:22:38
they went back, they did that intentionally.
00:22:42
They knew what they were going to do because they knew it had
00:22:44
been done before, because they had experience.
00:22:47
Can you imagine being someone from the 1700s who probably has
00:22:51
no earthly idea that this type of thing exists and you find
00:22:55
yourself in the 1980s? Like going backwards, I think
00:23:00
will be easier because we have history, we have history books.
00:23:04
We, we can do our research, we can read about the times.
00:23:08
And you know, that's kind of what Claire and Brianna have
00:23:10
done the whole time that they were there.
00:23:13
They, they knew certain things that were going to happen.
00:23:15
They knew certain inventions, like, OK, this will be invented
00:23:20
here. So but we may be able to do this
00:23:22
over here. You know, they, they walk the
00:23:24
fine Rd. they walked the fine line, but they were as careful
00:23:31
as they could be with people who were trying to do, you know,
00:23:35
innovative stuff in the 1700s. But to go forward and you have
00:23:42
no information about what you're walking into.
00:23:46
You have no way of knowing what's coming for you, what to
00:23:52
expect. Like, I can't even imagine what
00:23:56
this man is going through. And then to see the person that
00:24:00
you thought you had hung and that's the person who greets
00:24:04
you. I'm I'm having a feeling that
00:24:06
he's a little, he's a little spooked.
00:24:09
Right now, right. And the and the thing about it
00:24:12
is it's like again, how does it work?
00:24:15
Like you didn't he didn't go back, he went forward.
00:24:20
So then it's even with them going forward too, cause to save
00:24:27
the baby Manny. But like, what do they think?
00:24:30
Like you have to think and then shall it be?
00:24:34
Because at that point, what was he thinking about?
00:24:35
Was he still thinking about Roger and his wife?
00:24:37
And was there even something going on between them that
00:24:40
pushed them forward? Like what type?
00:24:43
You know, you understand what I'm saying, 'cause he couldn't
00:24:45
went at any time, but he went where Roger is.
00:24:51
It's just kind of, that's what's interesting.
00:24:52
And I don't want it to be used as just like a plot device.
00:24:56
But to me, it has to be like something that pulls them back
00:24:59
and forth 'cause I may touch the stones, Ding, and I'm gonna go
00:25:03
back and I go forward. If you go back to the beginning
00:25:08
of the story, how did Claire end up in the 1700s?
00:25:11
Because she wasn't thinking about anybody in particular.
00:25:14
You know, but we already know, OK, in our minds and in our
00:25:18
hearts, we knew that she needed to go back because she was tired
00:25:21
to Jamie. That's why she went back.
00:25:23
She was, she was questioning her love and wanting a love and
00:25:31
that's what took her there 'cause she was listening.
00:25:34
Because she was happy with. Frank, was she really?
00:25:38
She was content. And happy OK, if you yes, OK.
00:25:42
You know, I'm saying there's a difference with that passionate
00:25:45
love she had, the content love that would have carried her on
00:25:50
and they actually would have been happy if she didn't go
00:25:52
back, you know what I'm saying? They would had each other, they
00:25:55
would have made each other happy.
00:25:56
She would have went to medical school, but then she had that
00:26:00
passionate love. Yeah.
00:26:02
Or. You know what?
00:26:03
I can't breathe, love. Miss Miss Misses Graham reading
00:26:07
her lines, her palm lines, and saying, hey, I see two marriages
00:26:11
here that could have. Been right and like, who would I
00:26:14
be married to? Like would it be a different
00:26:17
type of love? And that sent her to Jamie could
00:26:19
get that yeah, I get. I give it.
00:26:23
Yeah. But here I don't get how he
00:26:26
ended up in future. But that's neither here nor
00:26:28
there. He's he's, he's there.
00:26:30
We may find that out, we'll see. But I mean.
00:26:33
Are you telling me we're going to find that out?
00:26:35
Hint. Hint.
00:26:36
Or you. Don't I'm, I'm talking, I'm
00:26:37
talking purely in the show now, because again, there's so much
00:26:41
that they left out from the books that I don't know where
00:26:44
they're going to go with the story because.
00:26:46
OK, but in the books do we find out why?
00:26:49
Yes, that's why I said. You that's why I said you need
00:26:54
to read because. No, I'm going to ask you when
00:26:56
we're done. I just want to know that part.
00:26:58
You know how I like how the science work?
00:27:01
I must. I'm still a scientist at heart.
00:27:03
I like how the science work. I need to know.
00:27:06
Well, OK, so we don't find out. I won't say we find out the
00:27:11
science, but we do find out kind of what was going on in his mind
00:27:15
and what. Which will lend to how he
00:27:16
travels, which to me is the science of it.
00:27:19
So that's what I need, OK, That's what I don't.
00:27:22
Me convince her she don't need spoilers if.
00:27:25
She That's not a major spoiler. She.
00:27:27
Needs to read the book, no? Yeah, it is.
00:27:29
But he was thinking, yeah, that that I don't think he's he's
00:27:34
important. He ain't the most important
00:27:35
character for me. I'll tell you later.
00:27:37
I'll tell you later, but and again, I I just realized that we
00:27:42
are talking about this like we already know who he is, but they
00:27:46
don't actually reveal who he is until the next episode.
00:27:49
But if you look at the credits, I think it tells you who he is.
00:27:55
So it. Does.
00:27:59
And I was like, why did they recast?
00:28:01
They kind of kept Graham Mctavish in that role because he
00:28:05
was he was the one who actually had Rodger hung.
00:28:09
But they have cast him for the second part of Season 7, I
00:28:14
think, or he's in Season 8. So I know that we're going to be
00:28:17
doing some flashback stuff. So I was like, OK, if we're
00:28:20
getting him back in flashbacks, then I'm good with him not
00:28:24
being. But I think it would have been
00:28:26
interesting to have him. But yeah, so.
00:28:31
So now Rodger has a stranger who who is showing up at his house.
00:28:36
The stranger in my. House.
00:28:38
And then he's dealing with the Rob Cameron weirdness, which is,
00:28:46
yeah, again, that dude creeps me out, but I already know we'll
00:28:53
find out more about him in the next episode, so we're not going
00:28:55
to waste a lot of time with him. He's creepy.
00:28:57
I'm just going to say that. Yeah, he is.
00:29:00
And I'm going to say something that's controversial right now.
00:29:05
Really. Sometimes I do get tired of
00:29:10
Jamie and Claire, OK? That's a fairpoint.
00:29:16
I I do OK y'all love Conker's all.
00:29:18
I'm just getting tired of it, OK?
00:29:20
That, I mean, it's a, it's a fairpoint.
00:29:23
I mean, they go through a lot of drama.
00:29:26
They do, and I need death. 50 million times, which there is a
00:29:32
thing in the book, I will say this, there is a thing in the
00:29:35
book where I think like a fortune teller or something when
00:29:38
Jamie was young told him you will basically he has he has the
00:29:44
lives like a cat. She basically told him he will
00:29:47
die nine times before his final death before his final death.
00:29:50
So it's like a big thing. In the building.
00:29:53
Right. Well, in the books they actually
00:29:55
he's like, yeah, is this time and this time and this time and
00:29:58
this time. No, that time doesn't count.
00:30:00
OK, then it's all so they do it. It is like a running thread in
00:30:04
the books. I.
00:30:08
Don't think that's controversial.
00:30:09
I do think people would disagree with you because I know that
00:30:12
there are a lot of people who actually don't like the Rodger
00:30:16
and Brianna dynamic. Dynamic which I don't understand
00:30:20
because. People, I'm gonna be honest with
00:30:23
you on that one. But even though I said I get
00:30:26
tired of Jamie and Claire, no, I really absolutely love them and
00:30:30
I want everyone to have a love like them.
00:30:32
But I don't see it for with with Roger and Bran.
00:30:36
No, I don't. They don't.
00:30:37
OK. Their love is fine.
00:30:42
But it's not. Like it's, it's not it's it's
00:30:44
not that they're OK, OK, they're they're What about Marsley?
00:30:48
And Fergus, because we are getting them.
00:30:50
I love that love. I do love that love.
00:30:54
We are getting them back and I'm like, OK, Because I will say
00:30:57
that has been the most disappointing thing for me for
00:31:00
Season 7 was that we weren't getting any Marsley and
00:31:04
Ferguson. There's a lot that happens with
00:31:07
Marsley and Ferguson in the books.
00:31:10
I don't know how much of that they're going to bring to the
00:31:15
show because if I'm not mistaken, I think season 8 only
00:31:19
has like 8 episodes. It's a very short season.
00:31:23
So I'm like, first of all, you are discounting a whole book
00:31:28
that, yeah, you know, ends the series and then you're giving us
00:31:31
a short and 8th season. And like I said, there's a shit
00:31:35
ton of stuff that they have. Now.
00:31:37
And I, I feel like I already know based on what I've read, I
00:31:42
kind of know what they're going to cut out.
00:31:44
Some of it I'm OK with and some of it I'm like, no, I really
00:31:48
don't need them to cut. Well, I won't say anything with
00:31:51
William, but there's a lot that happens with William that I
00:31:54
really want to see it now. I already have a feeling one of
00:31:57
his main storylines is not going to make it, but I really need to
00:32:02
see more of him because I'm actually liking the portrayal of
00:32:07
his character. Like, you have it.
00:32:09
You have this guy who is very much a soldier, very much loyal
00:32:16
to his people, his country. And then you see him in this
00:32:21
episode, he comes across Claire remembers, Claire realizes that
00:32:26
she's a rebel but still does what he can to, you know,
00:32:30
prioritize what she's asking for as a prisoner.
00:32:33
You know, she's trying to get food for the other prisoners.
00:32:36
She's trying to get medical supplies.
00:32:39
And he's doing his best to help her, not knowing that she, I
00:32:46
guess, in for all intents and purposes, is his stepmother.
00:32:49
But she, he remembers her enough from the visit to Fraser's Ridge
00:32:53
where she saved Lord John from his measles outbreak to say, OK,
00:32:59
you know what? I'm going to do what I need to
00:33:01
do for her. And then you have him coming
00:33:03
across Ian, who, again, he does not realize he's his cousin, but
00:33:08
it's somebody who he has had a pleasant interaction with Ian,
00:33:13
helped save his life. But now you realize until that
00:33:16
this person that you've come to respect is also a rebel.
00:33:21
And now you're having to kind of straddle the fence because your
00:33:26
duty tells you these are rebels, They should be prisoners.
00:33:30
But when the fighting starts breaking out at Fort Ticonderoga
00:33:34
because Jamie is trying to get Claire out.
00:33:37
So he's like, causing a distraction.
00:33:39
You have William, like, I guess I can let you go.
00:33:44
I mean, Ian also says, hey, you owe me a life.
00:33:47
Yeah. So I'm, it's my under taking her
00:33:50
with me. But still this kind of like the
00:33:56
the struggle that you're going to see with William as a loyal
00:34:00
British subject, as a loyal soldier, and then having these
00:34:03
people who he's had experience with in his life and trying to
00:34:08
reconcile the fact that these good people are rebels, you
00:34:11
know, because this time, you know, the way he's been talking,
00:34:15
we're going to, we're going to stamp out the rebel, you know,
00:34:17
the rebellion. These people are blah, blah,
00:34:20
blah stuff. He was saying to Brianna when he
00:34:23
met her. And now it's like, oh, wait, I
00:34:25
actually know some of these people.
00:34:27
And these people are good people.
00:34:29
They're decent people. I'm very curious to see how that
00:34:32
journey is going to play out on screen.
00:34:35
So I need more William, but I don't have a lot of time to do
00:34:38
it with. No, you, you don't. 8 episodes
00:34:42
in the back half of this 7th season and then maybe 8 episodes
00:34:47
for season 8. And that's just a guess, it
00:34:49
could be as low as 6. I hope not because you know how
00:34:53
I feel about 6 episode. Seasons, but yeah, 'cause it's
00:34:56
the stuff gets rushed but. And this story is so like these
00:35:01
books are 900 something page books.
00:35:05
You can't say a lot of stuff. There are characters that we
00:35:09
should have been introduced to by now.
00:35:11
They have not even made an appearance.
00:35:13
So again, I feel like those those storylines have been
00:35:16
scrubbed, which is fine as long as these storylines move forward
00:35:20
in a way that makes sense. It's going to be really
00:35:24
interesting to see how they do this, this stuff with Brianna
00:35:27
and Roger and what's going on there.
00:35:31
Because Rob Cameron, in the books, you, I'm trying to think
00:35:41
who is a character? Tell us how you really feel
00:35:45
he's. Nicholas from The Walking.
00:35:47
Dead. Yes.
00:35:51
He's one of those characters where you read him and the whole
00:35:55
time you're reading, you wish you could slip your fingers
00:35:58
through the parade, through the pages of the book and just
00:36:01
throttle him because he gets more and more annoying and more
00:36:05
and more weird and then shit hits the fat and it's just kind
00:36:10
of like. So I hope they keep all of that
00:36:15
show because the characters just and it, I mean, honestly, that
00:36:24
story and where it leads, it is a good distraction from Jamie
00:36:28
and Claire. Right.
00:36:29
I mean, and and again, I love them, but he can't get tiring
00:36:36
that, you know, we shall always overcome.
00:36:39
Yeah, I get kidnapped and you're going to find me no matter what.
00:36:45
So now at the point when you get into a relationship, everyone,
00:36:48
we got to have a checklist. OK, All right, So something
00:36:51
happens to me. Are you willing to, you know, go
00:36:54
through the trenches, kill some, kill some people to get to me
00:36:58
and to save my life? If that's a no, we have a
00:37:02
problem. Bye bye.
00:37:04
OK, can you weather the storm when a girl pretend to have my
00:37:09
baby? Can you weather the?
00:37:14
Storm. Can you weather the storm when
00:37:15
you have to go? Back murder of saying girl.
00:37:18
That baby, can you weather storm when you have to go back to your
00:37:21
original timeline? Live with, live with a partner?
00:37:25
Did you clearly want to close your eyes and pretend that you
00:37:28
with your previous partner? Yep, can do all you can to get
00:37:33
back. And that's not even to talk
00:37:35
about all the stuff that went on in Season 1.
00:37:39
Correct. Even there's times when you
00:37:41
actually did want to pull a gun out and kill them yourself.
00:37:47
Yeah. But you didn't.
00:37:50
Yeah. Then at the end of the evening,
00:37:53
every episode, we have the end of the evening bed talk.
00:37:57
I love you. I love you too.
00:37:59
To the end. That's why they need to just die
00:38:01
together. I, I mean, I, I'm not going to
00:38:05
say you're wrong. I'm not going to say you're
00:38:07
wrong, but you know. A man that will you get
00:38:12
attacked, assaulted. He didn't even ask questions.
00:38:18
He killed, everybody around killed.
00:38:20
Them all slanga. You're not condoning this in
00:38:25
real life. We're just saying.
00:38:27
We're just saying. But I mean, if you think about
00:38:30
it back then, especially back then 1700s, I mean, we see this
00:38:35
from when Claire gets taken. They don't even have proper
00:38:39
judges right now because of everything that's going on with
00:38:42
the war, with the rebellion, people getting tarred and
00:38:45
feathered. I mean, we saw.
00:38:48
And even with, like, the governor having to flee, you
00:38:53
know, 'cause they were chasing after him and everything, Yeah,
00:38:57
it's like, unfortunately, back then, people sometimes had to
00:39:03
meet out their own justice. Right, they did.
00:39:05
Nothing wrong with that, but they love perseveres.
00:39:08
That's all I have. I have to say it it, it
00:39:12
perseveres. We should say sometimes you want
00:39:14
to see some drama with with just drama, you just want to see a
00:39:19
drama. You want the Outlander soap
00:39:21
opera. No, they, they just love.
00:39:23
Just persevere. They should just say, you know
00:39:25
what I mean? At this point, if something
00:39:28
happened to me, I'd be like, I'm not concerned.
00:39:30
He'll be here in a week. Right.
00:39:35
And just like the whole thing, I, I think it was in this season
00:39:38
or it may have been the last. No, it was this season.
00:39:42
I think when Jamie said he had the the gemstone, right when he
00:39:47
was trying to tell Claire she could go with Bree and Rodger.
00:39:53
Yeah, he had, he had the, he had the gemstone and he was like,
00:39:56
just in case you wanted to go, he was like, you know, I I don't
00:40:00
want to live without you, but if you need to go with that one,
00:40:03
threw that thing out the window, like, excuse me, I'm not going
00:40:07
anywhere. Yeah, like we're not.
00:40:09
What? What?
00:40:09
What point would that be? None.
00:40:12
And then also too, he keeps telling her if something happens
00:40:15
to me, I want you to go back through the stones.
00:40:17
For what? Well, I I guess now because.
00:40:19
OK, now, I mean, come on, are they to go back to?
00:40:22
Yeah, see your see your kid and her grandkids.
00:40:25
I get that. Because if Jamie is not there, I
00:40:29
mean, Claire has adapted enough that I think she could probably
00:40:36
live on her own. But Claire still got that mouth.
00:40:40
She still got that 20. Yeah, she might as well go.
00:40:43
She might as well go and and and, you know, babysit her
00:40:48
grandkids. That's I'm just saying she don't
00:40:50
need to stay, right. But they have lived a life.
00:40:54
I feel like they have lived two different lives like 2 complete
00:40:59
different lives and they with their lives was apart right
00:41:03
Their lives that was apart and then their lives together and
00:41:05
they were full lives. So them dying earlier together,
00:41:09
it just will be well-rounded. But you know sometimes just get
00:41:13
sick and like OK I know you love her, I know you love him.
00:41:20
I understand. I get it.
00:41:23
I mean, he got Agps on her. Like you find her no matter
00:41:27
what. You find him no matter what I
00:41:29
have. Theories about that, but it's
00:41:31
book related, so I have to tell you about that later.
00:41:34
Again, they tethered together in this world.
00:41:37
I mean, I, I kind of feel like it has to be that way because.
00:41:42
Yeah, I do. I, I, I I'm making fun.
00:41:44
But they are tethered together. I think that's why she ended up
00:41:47
with him. Right.
00:41:48
But because other than that, how do you explain?
00:41:51
Again, we're going back to the Season 1, Episode 1.
00:41:53
How do you explain the ghost? Because that was very clearly a
00:41:57
young Jamie. That was Jamie with his curls.
00:42:01
That was Jamie with the beret, that was Jamie with the the
00:42:05
tartan and the kill, you know, and we don't really see that
00:42:09
Jamie anymore. But I mean, he was very, it was
00:42:11
very clearly the young version of him.
00:42:14
I have a theory. I kind of wonder if maybe like,
00:42:19
you know, how he dreams about the children.
00:42:21
That's what I was about to say. That's my theory.
00:42:22
Also, if I remember correctly, a few seasons ago, he asked Claire
00:42:31
about Bree. He asked her if she had a
00:42:33
birthmark in a specific place. And Claire was like, yes, she
00:42:38
does. And he said I had a dream about
00:42:40
her. So I'm wondering if, and and
00:42:44
again, I don't know how it is because it's kind of one of
00:42:47
those things like what came first, the chicken or the egg?
00:42:51
Did Jamie dream of Claire and then Claire ended up going back?
00:42:55
Or was Claire always destined to go back?
00:42:58
And that is one of those things where I don't we probably find
00:43:02
out until the bad book. You won't, and I feel like it's
00:43:05
a dream, but then he's projected himself to where he's dreaming
00:43:13
and it's possible because we've given in.
00:43:16
So it was also it was Halloween, remember?
00:43:20
And, and where the there's a thin line, right?
00:43:23
Yeah. The, the my thing is, it's time
00:43:26
travel. So we, we can't discount
00:43:28
anything. Yeah, but Jamie and all these
00:43:32
time travelers running into each other, you know, I'm just
00:43:36
saying. So, but, you know, my next on my
00:43:41
list is Ian. I just need him to find the same
00:43:45
type of love. Yes, love like his parents love
00:43:50
like his uncle and auntie, you know, just.
00:43:54
Right, 'cause we got, we got the child part out the way now.
00:43:58
Yeah, we do. Can't.
00:44:00
Even though he's not raising him, he does at least know that
00:44:03
there is nothing wrong with him, that that is something that he
00:44:06
can do. So at least he has a little bit
00:44:11
more hope on that. So I don't know.
00:44:15
I'm, I'm kind of liking this, you know, he might, he might be
00:44:19
seeing this, this Rachel, you know.
00:44:22
Yeah, I'm, I'm feeling the the flirting, this and everything.
00:44:25
I'm OK with this match. But what about her and William?
00:44:29
Because there's also a little bit of flirtiness there.
00:44:31
Too It is she spent more time with William.
00:44:35
I don't care, right now is the top of my list.
00:44:42
William comes after so William will find his love later.
00:44:46
I need him to grow up. Oh, William.
00:44:49
Yeah. What?
00:44:52
He's still, I'm sorry, he's still like he had been through
00:44:55
something. So he he's still young and her
00:44:58
but mature, you know, wise the way of the world.
00:45:04
William needs to to learn about first of all, he needs to learn
00:45:08
who he really is so he can claim that inside.
00:45:13
That's going to be tough, I think.
00:45:15
That probably will be some years and some therapy.
00:45:17
Yeah, girl, you don't. There's no therapy on.
00:45:20
This so and he's still he's still young, like he's still
00:45:24
young and understanding this war and like you said, the
00:45:27
rebellions and how you can have friends on the other side and
00:45:31
really thinking about what is happening and what this means.
00:45:35
He doesn't he he's not getting it because he is a little
00:45:39
privileged though. Yeah, I was going to say
00:45:41
privileged. And and even though I think Lord
00:45:44
John has tried to teach him all of that, they're just some
00:45:47
things. Things you just that.
00:45:49
You can't learn until you've been through them.
00:45:52
You can't learn to be a grown up until you've actually gone
00:45:56
through, you know, having to pay bills, having to find things on
00:46:00
your home or with someone like him.
00:46:03
He he, he has time and he needs to just kind of grow and then
00:46:08
he'll find his Rachel, but not that Rachel.
00:46:12
But all I know is that old man Mr. Beasley better not pop out
00:46:21
of no tent in the future. And I don't want to know.
00:46:26
I'm not going to ask you when this taping is over, but he
00:46:30
better not. He did not Was Ian finds some
00:46:36
love you. You mean Mr. Mr. Bug?
00:46:39
I'm sorry. I've called him Mr. BS.
00:46:41
Mr. the Bears. Lee, you were thinking about the
00:46:43
twins, But yeah. Mr. Bugg.
00:46:44
Oh, my gosh. Yes.
00:46:46
That's the only thing I think that would maybe bother me about
00:46:51
Ian and Rachel because, OK, so if they end up falling in love,
00:46:58
you know, Jamie and Claire and Ian, they're still talking about
00:47:01
going to Scotland. So if he takes her to Scotland
00:47:05
with them, it'll be fine. I'd seriously doubt Mr. Bug is
00:47:09
about to get on a a boat to get his revenge.
00:47:12
But if there's anything like the man pop out, Yeah, like we don't
00:47:19
know where. He is.
00:47:19
I was on the boat with you. I mean, we don't know where he
00:47:23
is now. He could be dead for all we
00:47:24
know, which of course we know that ain't going to happen.
00:47:27
No, because we got to have some kind of drama Ian's gonna have
00:47:30
to have. Yeah, we we do.
00:47:32
But it's not needed because it wasn't like he did that on
00:47:35
purpose. Mr. Bug don't.
00:47:38
Care. I know, but I feel like after
00:47:41
that, after having to go throughout years, it, it was a
00:47:46
few years thinking that you may not be able to have kids and
00:47:54
that you're not worthy. You're not a whole man, I know.
00:47:59
I think that's enough punishment and that someone you love was
00:48:04
taken from you because you couldn't give her some and and
00:48:08
give it to your friend. Right.
00:48:10
And not to mention your wife died because y'all were being,
00:48:15
y'all were being greedy, y'all were feeling entitled.
00:48:18
Which? Right, right.
00:48:20
So. I can kind of understand them
00:48:22
being servants and you know, he was like, I was tasked men to to
00:48:27
the Grants, like he was an important person back home in
00:48:31
Scotland. So I can understand his
00:48:34
indignation. I can understand his feeling of
00:48:37
I deserve more. I just think, I think if Jamie
00:48:42
had found out about the gold in a way other than the way that
00:48:45
they found out about it, there might have been some room for
00:48:49
some conversation without the aggression.
00:48:52
But because that gold was dug up or what, you know, turned up
00:48:56
when Wendigo Donna was trying to find gemstones, it already added
00:49:02
tension. You know, it added more tension
00:49:04
to an already tense situation. And at this point, Jamie is
00:49:09
just, you know, one thing about Jamie.
00:49:10
Jamie is very much about loyalty.
00:49:13
Jamie treats his people good. And he's like, I just want the
00:49:17
respect and loyalty in return, which I think Arch and Merdina
00:49:23
gave him. But it's the whole secrecy
00:49:26
thing. Jamie don't like secrets.
00:49:28
He never has. So I think that was part of his
00:49:34
decision to go through all of that.
00:49:37
I mean, even when he found out about the the goal with the
00:49:40
cameras, he wasn't pleased. So yeah, I I just think that bug
00:49:47
should have left well enough alone.
00:49:49
Or maybe it wasn't even him. Maybe it was Mardina, because
00:49:52
she was the one who was like, we deserve this.
00:49:54
So he's the one who decided, OK, I'm going to go dig it up
00:49:59
because they're not going to be mean to me.
00:50:01
They're not going to be aggressive with me.
00:50:03
But she shouldn't have shot the goddamn gun.
00:50:06
If she had not shot the gun she would still be alive cause Ian
00:50:10
wouldn't be thinking oh Arch bug is about to murder my uncle.
00:50:14
Right. And he was just doing
00:50:15
self-defense like he cared for missus bug.
00:50:18
So that's why. But Art, yeah, I I have a
00:50:23
feeling Arch is gonna make this a little bit harder for Ian to
00:50:27
be happy, right? Because the, the moment he sees
00:50:32
from wherever he is looking, it's shit, he might be at Fort
00:50:37
Ticonderoga somewhere, but the minute he sees Ian being just a
00:50:41
small bit happy, he's like, OK, so I'm a kid, I'm a, I'm a watch
00:50:45
this like, it's one thing to be talking to her and oh, we're,
00:50:50
we're doing a little flirting back and forth.
00:50:52
Nah, that's not important that that can be, you know, whatever.
00:50:58
If things get serious, that's gonna be the problem.
00:51:02
And then because Rachel is a Quaker, if she and Ian are able
00:51:07
to get together, which we already know her brothers
00:51:10
probably going to be like no because if he didn't want her
00:51:14
talking to William because William is a quote UN quote
00:51:16
violent man definitely don't want her talking to Ian cause
00:51:20
Ian is definitely. Yeah, he walking around.
00:51:23
Yeah, bad guy he walking around. Even if they were to get
00:51:28
together, if Archbug comes after them, comes after Rachel again,
00:51:35
Rachel is a quake 'cause she's gonna be like, no, don't harm
00:51:38
him, God will protect me. Because that's what she said
00:51:41
with the with the rat still people.
00:51:45
OK, Ian is not about to let that happen.
00:51:48
Right, that's what I'm saying. No, he was raised by Jamie so.
00:51:57
And if you saw, if you remember the way Jamie was with Richard
00:52:00
Brown when he was in that room and he was sitting there just so
00:52:03
calm and quiet and Richard Brown was like, but you're a good man.
00:52:08
He said my he said, whatever good is left in me is because of
00:52:11
my wife. And you tried to take her away
00:52:14
from me. Punk is on.
00:52:17
That's that's who raised in and then that the Mohawk.
00:52:25
What? Yeah.
00:52:28
So I don't think Archbug needs to try it, but I have a feeling
00:52:32
he's gonna he he he's going to he's a man of his word.
00:52:35
That's. One, yeah, but I don't wanna, I
00:52:38
don't wanna see that episode. I'm just saying I'm I'm not
00:52:40
prepared for that. You know what?
00:52:47
Because here's the thing, I understand why Archbug is going
00:52:51
through what he's going through. But before that, he was, he was
00:52:55
a good dude. He was one of our family.
00:52:58
Yeah, but you know, at this point, I, I need you to be like,
00:53:01
you know what we done after and this was consequence.
00:53:05
So I got to go home with my life.
00:53:07
It was really my fault that my wife is dead, no one else's but
00:53:10
my own. He's a proud Scots.
00:53:12
He's not. Yeah, but I'm just saying then
00:53:14
you better take responsibility. Yeah, and you better get ready
00:53:18
to catch his ass. You mess with Rachel, right?
00:53:22
Right. And another thing, this episode
00:53:25
was kind of like, OK, the only interesting thing really for me
00:53:30
was the the Cameron and we saw the.
00:53:35
Claire got captured again. Right.
00:53:38
That's what I'm saying that's. Trying to go after this woman
00:53:41
who? Look, it's like a procedure,
00:53:43
Outlander. One of them is in danger, the
00:53:46
other one goes through the end of the earth to save them, and
00:53:50
then at the end they find each other.
00:53:53
That's all that really happened, but.
00:53:56
This, this is the thing. The thing with Claire is I
00:54:01
understand you're a doctor. I understand you're supposed to
00:54:04
help, but this woman was clearly out of her mind so one y'all
00:54:09
should have gave her some kind of sedative before y'all put her
00:54:12
on the boat while she's sitting here talking about what the
00:54:14
Indians going to do, they going to scalp her, they going to skin
00:54:16
her, all this other stuff. The second thing is the minute
00:54:20
this woman shot herself in the head, Claire, you knew there
00:54:23
wasn't shit you can do and you knew them.
00:54:25
Red Coast was going to hear that bullet.
00:54:27
Your ass should have took off instead of sitting there trying
00:54:30
to see if she was still breathing.
00:54:34
They don't they too comfortable with they stuff.
00:54:42
Claire should know better. And now because you don't got
00:54:45
cancer, you know that You know Jamie finna come after you.
00:54:49
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's like I don't even have a
00:54:51
care in the world. Like, oh, I've been kidnapped,
00:54:54
that's no problem. He's going to come in a week or
00:54:57
no. Knowing him, two days from now
00:55:00
I'm going to hear people dying on the side and I know that's my
00:55:03
man. Like, you know, right.
00:55:08
And even even with Ian trying to sneak into Fort Ticonderoga
00:55:13
pretending like he's a spy, he probably could have gotten away
00:55:17
with all of that. But of course William is there,
00:55:20
and they don't realize William is there.
00:55:22
Well, at least Ian doesn't. But it's kind of like William is
00:55:27
having too much close proximity with folks in his family I need.
00:55:31
It's but it's fun how everybody just be like they know they know
00:55:37
and you don't know a thing. Yeah, that's gonna be ugly when
00:55:43
it comes out, 'cause he's gonna be like, you know, you know, you
00:55:47
know, why is that? What?
00:55:49
He's talking. So yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm waiting
00:55:54
for that reveal to happen. But I mean, and then and then at
00:56:03
the end of the episode when Jet, when Claire has the the flask
00:56:08
that William gave her with the what was the whiskey?
00:56:11
I think he said he was like, where did you get?
00:56:13
And she was like, your son gave it to me.
00:56:14
You just the emotions that goes over Jamie's face anytime his
00:56:19
son is mentioned just hurts my heart.
00:56:25
Like can y'all please tell this boy that this man is his daddy
00:56:28
now? So they can just so they can
00:56:29
have it out, hash it out and then work towards reconciliation
00:56:35
or whatever. I need that to have like I am
00:56:38
in. Well then I, I do, I do want to
00:56:41
see it happen. But then I still feel bad for
00:56:43
Lord Gray though, 'cause that's when that's even rough right
00:56:47
there. Yeah, and you know.
00:56:50
'Cause he's really, William was going to be really upset about
00:56:52
that. So I really don't want to don't
00:56:56
want to see it. No, I understand.
00:56:59
And then also Brianna is not there to talk to him about it
00:57:02
because like the episode a couple, you know, a couple of
00:57:05
episodes. Ago because she's been through
00:57:07
that herself. Because she's been through it
00:57:09
herself. That's.
00:57:09
Yeah, I just thought about it. Yeah, when she was talking to
00:57:12
Lord John about it, saying, you really, are you ever going to
00:57:15
tell him? And Lord John was like, I don't
00:57:17
think that's the best thing for him.
00:57:19
And she was like, do you understand how that's going to
00:57:23
hurt him or how upset he'll be once he finds out?
00:57:26
And I was like, what she should have added was and and she did
00:57:30
tell him a little bit about Frank, but but what she told him
00:57:34
about Frank was that, you know, she had another father, that he
00:57:38
loved her very much. He she still thinks of him.
00:57:41
She, you know, that's still her father.
00:57:43
But then when she met Jamie, she didn't say anything about the
00:57:46
ugliness in between those things.
00:57:49
She didn't talk about how when she found out by accident about
00:57:54
Jamie being her father, how she thought her mother was a liar,
00:57:56
how she thought her mother was a whore, how she went through this
00:57:59
whole identity crisis because she didn't know who she was.
00:58:03
Even though a lot of that happened in the future and
00:58:05
there's certain things she can't say, she could have at least
00:58:08
said that much. Like, look, I know what it's
00:58:10
like to grow up your whole life thinking one man was your actual
00:58:13
father and then somebody else was.
00:58:14
He's not going to take it well. And the longer you hope you keep
00:58:17
it from him, the worse it's going to be.
00:58:20
She should be telling him this because at least he can think
00:58:24
that and, and, and considerate, especially if he knows that she
00:58:29
went through the exact same thing.
00:58:33
But again, I guess they just don't really communicate very
00:58:36
well in the 18th century. So you're just going to have to
00:58:40
wait and see how that plays out. But the fact that you got and
00:58:45
you got Claire, you got William all in the same space at the
00:58:48
same time, and now William is helping them.
00:58:52
I was like, yeah, this is about to get real messy for him.
00:58:55
It's about to get messy because I know he told, I know he told
00:59:00
him he was like, look, we're square, so don't let me see you
00:59:03
the next time 'cause I may not have a choice.
00:59:06
I was like, bro, that ain't the smoke.
00:59:08
You won't, 'cause like you said, William does not have the
00:59:12
experience. Ian got all the experience.
00:59:15
Yeah, he does. You know, I'm saying all the
00:59:19
experience. And, and the only thing that
00:59:22
would help him win that fight is because Ian knows who he is.
00:59:25
Ian is not going to go after him.
00:59:28
Oh, no. So, yeah.
00:59:35
But let's see, we have 1-2 more episodes in this part of the
00:59:42
season. And then we have season the
00:59:47
second-half of Season 7, and now Leia wants to be on camera.
00:59:52
But yeah, there's there's just there's just so much that
00:59:58
happens in the books that I really want to see on screen.
01:00:01
And I don't think we're going to get it some of the important
01:00:05
things. I think we'll get some of the
01:00:08
stuff that happens with Roger and Brianna.
01:00:11
I know we're going to get all the most of the Jamie and Claire
01:00:14
stuff. I'm pretty sure they will put
01:00:21
William Disco discovering that Jamie is his father.
01:00:25
I'm pretty sure they'll put that in the show.
01:00:27
But some of the other stuff that leads up to that, they probably
01:00:29
won't because. No, they we really.
01:00:31
Don't have time to do all of that?
01:00:34
We really do need to see that before it ends and before we see
01:00:37
them die together at the end. So we need him to, we need him
01:00:41
to be able to save my son. Well, I'm just telling you how
01:00:44
this is this show's going to end.
01:00:46
There's no other way. I mean, I I believe you.
01:00:49
Because when Jamie wanted to take his life in season 1,
01:00:53
Claire was like, oh, OK, you want to die?
01:00:54
I'm gonna die right here with you.
01:00:56
And that was the thing that he was like, you can't die.
01:00:59
OK, then. Then I guess we both stayed
01:01:01
alive 'cause Claire was like, I'm not playing with you.
01:01:04
Look, I could have gone home. I stayed here to be with you
01:01:07
because I realized I loved you and now you want to check out on
01:01:11
me. And he was like, everything
01:01:13
that's happened to me that that that doesn't give it a reason
01:01:16
to. She was like, no, 'cause I
01:01:17
forgot Claire had been assaulted at by that point too, with by
01:01:21
the the red coat deserter. And I was like, oh, yeah, OK.
01:01:26
Yeah, they just, they just been through it, still going through
01:01:31
it. We'll probably still right.
01:01:32
I mean, we got a whole war. I mean, to me the worst was when
01:01:36
they were, you know, in Paris and stuff.
01:01:38
So if they can get through that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:01:45
Oh goodness. In the midst of losing the baby,
01:01:48
too, Yeah. Yeah.
01:01:51
There's a lot. Mm, hmm.
01:01:53
Mm hmm. So the only other interesting
01:01:56
thing about this is, like I said, like Jamie pointed out,
01:02:01
his cousin is on the British side, the Brigadier Simon
01:02:06
Fraser. Oh yeah, yeah.
01:02:08
I was like, this is not going to be cute because if they do come
01:02:10
to war, however that happens, you got your son and your cousin
01:02:15
on the opposite side. Yeah, you're fighting on this
01:02:18
side, even though I know he's trying not to fight.
01:02:21
But I mean, they consigned him. Yeah, if it happens, it happens.
01:02:26
Yeah, you think they're going to let somebody with Jamie's
01:02:30
experience not stop? Yeah, he keeps trying to get
01:02:34
away from that and he keeps getting pulled back in, So no.
01:02:42
But yeah, I, I'm just, I'm really curious to see how
01:02:46
they're going to finish Season 7 out.
01:02:49
And I think once I see how they finish out the season, that'll
01:02:54
give me an idea of where they're going to go for Season 8.
01:02:58
Because again, they can't do much for book 10.
01:03:01
Because not only is she still writing it, but why would she
01:03:06
want to give her ending to the show when her book may not be
01:03:11
done for another 3-4 years? You know, why would she want to
01:03:15
give that away? Because if she gives that away,
01:03:17
which I know this is not the case, before the people who are
01:03:19
the show people, if you want to get them to read the books,
01:03:23
telling them, telling them the way it ends is not going to help
01:03:27
that. No, then that's The thing is
01:03:29
like, that's why I'm OK with it ends with them dying together.
01:03:32
But we just don't know what led to that.
01:03:34
You know what I'm saying? What I'm saying talking.
01:03:36
About them dying. Together, I'm going to keep
01:03:38
putting it out in the atmosphere.
01:03:40
I'm just saying they. Can be immortal.
01:03:42
You know, Claire has not come into her power yet because you
01:03:46
know, they said something about when her hair turns white.
01:03:48
She hasn't come into her power. She could be immortal for all we
01:03:51
know. OK, here we go.
01:03:53
But he's not so. OK, so we're gonna try this
01:03:57
again. No, it's.
01:04:00
They can't end. They can only it maybe.
01:04:03
OK, how about this? They can't end it with them at
01:04:10
the top of a mountain saying this has been a life we have
01:04:14
lived and we're going to now settle down and this land and
01:04:26
reminisce about flash and flashbacks of all that brought
01:04:30
us here and knowing that our daughter is doing well with her,
01:04:37
with our grandbabies. Your son is doing well, Ian is
01:04:42
doing well. It's just me and you.
01:04:45
Everybody's OK and let's just grow old together in this cabin.
01:04:50
Who'd actually go for for ending like that?
01:04:52
I don't. And then it zooms.
01:04:54
I don't need to see them die. It zooms out and then at that
01:04:57
point we don't know what happened, but then the books the
01:05:01
next day she gets kidnapped again.
01:05:06
No, maybe. Maybe they'll maybe they'll end
01:05:09
on a happy note in the books too 'cause like, I don't have to.
01:05:12
Here's the thing. I don't have to see the the neat
01:05:19
but finite end of their story. I don't have to see them die.
01:05:23
I don't have to see it completely and.
01:05:25
But they're but the to be honest with you, I can do that.
01:05:28
They're dead. But they're dead, though.
01:05:31
Yeah. So with from so then from the
01:05:33
real perspective, right. So they can find out how their
01:05:37
parents died. And she's just it.
01:05:39
It just brings tears to your eyes.
01:05:41
I don't even need to find out that.
01:05:43
Or maybe we don't even see it. Maybe we don't even see it.
01:05:46
They do not have to die, Michelle, damn it.
01:05:48
They do not have to die and. Maybe Bree reads a letter.
01:05:53
Being on the mountaintop, looking over everything, knowing
01:05:57
that all of the drama is done and we pan out.
01:06:00
I'm good with that. I don't.
01:06:02
Or maybe even maybe 3 reads a letter where someone says the
01:06:06
last time they saw them was them walking into the woods.
01:06:12
See then we don't know. They're dead.
01:06:13
They walked into the woods and and they've been living in their
01:06:18
cabin. So she's like, you know what?
01:06:21
I don't want to know. Or maybe, she says, I don't want
01:06:23
to know. OK, I like the first scenario
01:06:28
you described better. It it because it needs to end
01:06:31
with them. This last scene needs to be them
01:06:33
too, so it could be live or dead.
01:06:38
That they don't have to die, Michelle.
01:06:41
They do don't need to die. Well, if they don't, we got to
01:06:45
imagine there's. Do you think they need to?
01:06:47
Die in order to end the book, in order to end the show, in order
01:06:50
to end the books, in order to end claiming, claiming Jamie and
01:06:55
Claire's story, Do they need to die?
01:06:58
Because I don't think they do. Well, if they don't, we know
01:07:02
they're going to get in more trouble.
01:07:04
So let's end the troubles. They.
01:07:05
Might be too old for trouble at that point.
01:07:09
Let them be too. Let them grow old to the point
01:07:12
ain't nobody about to ask no 80 year old Jamie to come fight for
01:07:15
shit. Just.
01:07:17
No, but you know, Claire going to be still having surgery at
01:07:20
90. She no, she's not, because her
01:07:23
eyesight is already going. Remember, Jamie told her she
01:07:27
needed glasses, She needed spectacles.
01:07:29
She's not going to be doing no surgeries at No 80.
01:07:31
She probably create some more. She probably had Brie bring me
01:07:33
some glasses when you come visit.
01:07:35
You know what? We don't even know if Brie is
01:07:38
coming back. That's true.
01:07:42
I, I, they had to. They have to.
01:07:46
They will have to because I don't feel like they would need
01:07:48
to say goodbye again. And you're right.
01:07:50
If William finds out, William needs to talk to his sister.
01:07:55
Like, I know you're my sister. So I've always felt that they're
01:07:58
going to come back. Like their heart isn't in the
01:08:01
present, it's in the past. So I feel like they're going to
01:08:04
come back. OK.
01:08:06
So I always felt like they're going to come, come back.
01:08:09
I have no problem with that. It it.
01:08:11
It's just a matter of what will bring them back because they
01:08:14
already know like. I know it's going to bring them
01:08:16
back. They're going to need some money
01:08:17
for that house and they're going to ask the little boy for some
01:08:19
gold. There was a reason why, but they
01:08:23
don't. Have to go back to get the gold
01:08:25
they can just. That's true.
01:08:26
They don't have to go back, but I just want them to go back.
01:08:29
I just want them to go back. I I do too, because for the same
01:08:33
reason, I, I want to see William, I, I want to see how
01:08:36
William and Brianna's relationship would develop just
01:08:40
just as much as I want to see how his and Jamie's would.
01:08:44
And like I said, there are a couple other things that happens
01:08:46
in the books and I'm kind of wondering if they're going to
01:08:48
put in the show. So yeah.
01:08:51
But I again, it, it just depends on what would bring her back,
01:08:56
what would happen her back. Like, I don't know, maybe, you
01:09:00
know, I think at some point when she was going back when he was
01:09:06
younger, the first time they tried to go back, Jamie said
01:09:10
something about maybe you can look him up in your books and
01:09:12
find him. Maybe she does the same thing
01:09:15
that she did with the The Fire article.
01:09:18
She sees something that talks about, you know, William Ransom,
01:09:22
the 9th, Laura Ellesmere or something happens and she goes
01:09:25
back. But it would have to be
01:09:27
something very, it would have to be something literally life or
01:09:34
death. Because for them to go back now
01:09:37
in the midst of the American Revolution, that wouldn't be
01:09:40
safe for any of them. No.
01:09:42
So. And I think that's one of the
01:09:44
reasons why Jamie and Claire were kind of like, OK, yeah, you
01:09:46
need to go back, even though it was because of Mandy.
01:09:49
But it's still they were like, yeah, you don't need to be here
01:09:52
because Rodger definitely would have been conscripted into
01:09:55
service. And we know Rodger don't like to
01:09:58
fight. He don't want to fight if he
01:10:00
doesn't have to. He will if he needs to.
01:10:02
But he that's not his first choice.
01:10:05
And then that will leave Brianna and and the kids.
01:10:09
So yeah, it, it would have to be something, life or death for her
01:10:13
to come back then, you know, or if something happens to Rodger
01:10:19
or if something happens to Bri, neither one of them wants to be
01:10:23
there in the future. Without them, they would have to
01:10:26
go back at that time. So yeah, but.
01:10:31
We'll. See.
01:10:33
Yep. You have anything else you want
01:10:36
to say about this episode? No, ma'am, they do have to die.
