How did you guys enjoy the show? It was very well done, very in

the vein of the original. Things that kept me captivated

disbelief on is that they just happen to kind of meet the same

people and it was destined for them to kind of be on this path.

Jamie got his, like some of his things about him and his

characteristics and how he treats Claire, like I can see it

already in his parents. So I like, completely enjoyed

this. And it had, yeah, it kept with

the same, the style was the same, which I enjoy because

that's why I enjoy Outlander. So yeah.

Yeah, I think it's good that it has people who were involved in

the original show. I think they're using the same

crew. So I think that's one of the

reasons why we feel that continuity.

But I, when I say I enjoyed it and I did something with this

show that I, I try not to do with shows too much is I try not

to pay attention to a lot of the pre, you know, the pre premiere

stuff because I don't want to be tainted.

But with this one, I was watching everything.

I was watching interviews, I was watching red carpets.

I was watching everything because I wanted to see how

these people kind of interact with each other off screen.

And then when I started seeing it on screen, it was just like,

I really felt the way that I did with the first outlandish.

I was drawn in. I was just kind of, Oh my God,

this is amazing, but let's get into it.

Let's talk about some things. The first thing I want to say is

chef's kiss. Kudos to the casting department

because they understood the assignment.

When I say the casting in this show is so freaking impeccable,

just going from, I mean, even with the kids, the fact that I

don't know if you guys are aware, but the younger versions

of Rupert and Angus in this episode are actually the sons of

the actors who played Rupert and Rupert and Angus in the original
00:03:59
show. So those little things I liked

because, you know, kind of see the spirit of those two
00:04:07
characters in these kids and then going all the way up to the
00:04:11
older kid, to the older cast. Like if I hadn't have watched

all the interviews and stuff and know who they were, I

immediately could have told you who was who.

Because the casting, the the looks, the the personality like

they did such a great job. They did.

But yeah, I have something that when I was watching, I was like,

I need to know what did they do to Murtaugh to make him before a

grumpy man later? I need to know because whatever,

whoever did something to him, I need to hurt them.

Well, you know, light and fluffy, you know, the one that

he was in love with, fell in love with his cousin investors.

Yeah, but I know that. But that can't be the one thing

that just caused him to be that. I mean, he was like.

He is clearly smitten with Ellen, Yeah.

But it looks like everyone is smitten with Ellen.

And I don't know if it's like, I know, of course it's she's,

she's the eldest Mackenzie daughter.

She's the one who, you know, read Jacob doted on.

But I also feel like part of it is not necessarily just because

of her beauty, because all of the sisters are very beautiful.

The the, you know, the ones that they cast.

I almost feel like that was just the fact that she is so

determined not to marry out of necessity or out of duty, and

she wants to marry for love. And I think the fact that she's

so unattainable makes her more desirable to these men.

They're like, oh, she's a single one.

dealing with the 1700s, we do know that arranged marriage is a

big thing back then. I mean, we also see that these

characters, like they look at each other and they're instantly

in love, which it's hard to kind of suspend that disbelief

because I feel like we know a little bit more now and we're
00:06:45
like, OK, that's not necessarily love at first sight.

It's probably lust. It's probably don't oh it.

Is it's interesting. It's the pheromones.

It's everything. No, they got the pheromones are

out now. They I mean, what happened to

other. But another thing about Ellen

that you mentioned about her being unattainable is also how

probably because he doted on her so much to the point where he

just, you know, even even in the conversation flashback we have

from her, he doesn't really think much of his sons, you

know, And then Jacosta and Janet, like Janet, she's clearly

torn that her dad is gone, but she also notices she was like,

you know, Ellen probably loved him more than anybody, you know,

and and you can see it in the flashbacks, the conversations

that they had together, he very clearly loved her.

He respected her. He basically, if she had been

born a a man, she would have been the heir.

And if times weren't the way that they were, I think if he

thought that the clan would accept a a woman chief, I think

he would have done that. He probably would have been the

first to be like, yeah, you can be chief because you're the only

one who's going to know what to do, you know?

But the fact that now he's gone and again, these parents,

parents, if you have property, if you have riches and have

I always know in the show that they had their disagreements,

they had their dislikes. They literally are plotting to

So it made me wonder, at some point I feel like their paths
