Moon Knight E2 - Fandom Hybrid Podcast #158

#moonknight #marvel We’re back! After an almost month-long unexpected hiatus in which we dealt with real life and Covid (grrr), we are back with our recap and discussion ofMoon Knight, episode 2. Coming to grips with the fact that he is sharing his body with another persona, Steven’s life gets more complicated when he comes face-to-face with not only Harrow – a man he believed was a figment of his imagination, but he also meets Marc’s wife, Layla – who has some questions about why her husband has been MIA for the last six months. Learning about Harrow’s ideology and what he plans to do to release the god Ammit, Steven and Marc must find a way to work together to stop Harrow from succeeding in his plans – all while trying to assert some independence from Khonshu.

This episode was originally recorded on April 27 2022.

00:00:25
What's a pirate's, welcome back to another episode of The

00:00:27
Phantom hybrid podcast. This is hanako and I am here

00:00:30
with Anthony Lori and Mike and we are discussing episode 2 of

00:00:35
the Disney plus series Moonlight.

00:00:38
And I think this is going to be one of those series that gets

00:00:42
better as we go along, because this episode was so funny and so

00:00:47
much fun, you know, we were going to record this episode a

00:00:53
few weeks ago. Go and I couldn't do it.

00:00:57
I had to back out for some reason I can't remember.

00:00:59
And then Mike couldn't be on it and I was like, oh no.

00:01:02
We have to talk about this with Mike because you can't do the

00:01:06
eye Muhammad Ali quote and not have Michael on here because I

00:01:10
know you have something clever to add to that.

00:01:13
That line was so funny. I was not expecting it and then

00:01:19
when he bust out with it and went with the, my name is Steven

00:01:22
with a V. I was like, you know what?

00:01:25
Like this sounds like one of Mike's jokes.

00:01:28
Oh yeah. He was all.

00:01:31
I mean. But first of all we need when he

00:01:33
transformed into the Suez like that was the funniest thing

00:01:36
because like course he's not going to transform into Moon

00:01:39
night with a cape and a mask and stuff people transfer it to

00:01:43
somebody with a suit because he's never seen Moon Knight in

00:01:45
all. Glory.

00:01:46
He's never seen him. So he's like since suit.

00:01:48
Okay. I mean I was just, you know,

00:01:50
he's an all white suit with a mask on and that motherfucker

00:01:54
that suit was so sharp. That was clean.

00:01:59
That was clean all the way around.

00:02:01
I know I mentioned in the first episode, but I have that as my

00:02:04
home screen because this is I saw when the, when the, when the

00:02:07
post is first came out, I was like that sub sharp shit right

00:02:10
there, man. And then while he was, somebody

00:02:14
gave me the link for the I'm close.

00:02:16
Was it or the faction? Mike was that you or the

00:02:18
Hanukkah? It might have been me?

00:02:20
Probably wanna go because my, everybody if you do want it, it

00:02:24
is available through. Are timid or which is, you know,

00:02:27
you never order because they never actually fulfill the

00:02:29
orders. But it's they're coming out next

00:02:34
spring in 2023, the both versions of soot version and the

00:02:38
regular Moon night. Why?

00:02:39
So that's a year from now why though?

00:02:42
Yeah why. Okay when you okay, I do this.

00:02:46
I don't know, I may be a need of some too, but when you get an

00:02:49
action figure, or a statue or a bus, you can order through

00:02:53
style, Online, Entertainment Earth, or any, or ThinkGeek, or

00:02:57
any of those online places and they have this thing called

00:03:00
pre-orders. And in the spring, because I've

00:03:02
sent you guys several in the spring, they gather interest and

00:03:06
they send out these feelers a lot of Star Wars stuff Star

00:03:09
Trek, whatever. And they're like, okay we have

00:03:12
1300 but we need to get a pre-order of at least 1 to

00:03:16
The figure like the Tonkin sisters, they keep doing the

00:03:19
showers, but they never do. And so they get a quota then

00:03:23
they put in order to the Toy Factory and then that's why it

00:03:26
takes them a year because they have to make the mold cast, it

00:03:29
package design it deliver it entertainment.

00:03:31
Or if it's notorious because they have everything.

00:03:34
I once ordered a bat'leth nine years ago, I'm still waiting on

00:03:37
the bat'leth, that's how bad they are.

00:03:39
Okay. So basically the pre-orders take

00:03:43
a year to fulfill and then they're supposed to ship them

00:03:46
out. Out and then they charge you the

00:03:48
week that it ships out. So if you have a lot of

00:03:50
pre-orders like some of my friends do you need to watch

00:03:52
your bank account because you might need him, right?

00:03:57
No that's why take so long I'm sorry.

00:03:59
Mike I didn't interrupt. You know you're fine.

00:04:02
It's like and plus like when he was doing it, he was rolling up

00:04:04
his sleeve. It's like in like the Stills

00:04:07
that they were giving, they had one where mr.

00:04:09
Knight that's what Stevens una Persona is, and he's rolling his

00:04:13
sleeve up like this, where he looks like he's doing the vibe

00:04:15
thing. Almost everything, but, but it

00:04:18
was actually in the scene, where he's just like, oh, you're going

00:04:20
to catch it now, Mike, you're gonna get it now night?

00:04:23
It was, it was more silly than him being like, yo babe, what's

00:04:26
up? You know, she, she wasn't doing

00:04:28
all that. He was just like, you know, for

00:04:30
like a butterfly, sting like a bee.

00:04:31
Cause I'm Steven with the V. I think that's one of my

00:04:34
favorite things about him. Is that even with the suit he's

00:04:37
not serious, like he's still Steven.

00:04:39
He's like, you would think that you're in the midst of all this

00:04:45
chaos and One is chasing you and your other personas wife is

00:04:50
they're trying to help you and when she tells him to summon the

00:04:54
suit and he's like, how do I do that?

00:04:57
Like, what do I do? And then the way that he does it

00:05:00
and it comes through, I mean, all of this is classic Steven

00:05:04
like I thought, especially from the way the promos were, you

00:05:09
know, when you look at the promo poster of him in the suit with

00:05:12
the mask, he looks hard. Like he looks like is going to

00:05:16
whoop some ass and then you get the reality of it and it was

00:05:21
just like Okay, this is not good but it's still funny and I still

00:05:27
like it because it even it's a good way to show.

00:05:31
Distinctively that Stephen and Mark are two, totally totally

00:05:37
different people even when he hit the pipe and did the flip,

00:05:42
and when he deleted and do the perfect three-point superhero

00:05:45
Landing but then he couldn't hold it any filters.

00:05:48
He fell to the side. It was like it was like oh

00:05:51
that's cool. Oh yeah, that's Steven.

00:05:54
Okay. Did I send you guys the meme

00:05:57
wears? Like it's Deadpool saying oh

00:06:00
he's going to come in for a perfect superhero landing and

00:06:02
then he falls and Deadpool's like, nope, I love this

00:06:09
character. Okay, let's get into the

00:06:10
episode. So, of course, we pick up where

00:06:12
we were at the end of the last episode, all this stuff happened

00:06:16
at the Museum. There was the fight.

00:06:18
The bathroom has been destroyed. So Stephen starts out going to

00:06:22
the museum. He's looking at his you know the

00:06:26
security guard who keeps calling him Scotty for some reason,

00:06:30
again, I was like is that one of his, his personas, but it's not

00:06:35
that dude just doesn't give a fuck enough to like, call him by

00:06:38
his real name, which is really aggravating.

00:06:41
But when Stephen tries to tell him, okay?

00:06:44
Hey, so the police are here, you know, you can see, you know,

00:06:48
kind of what's going on. They're doing an investigation

00:06:50
and he tells the guy he's like, okay, I need to show you

00:06:54
something, it's going to blow your mind and when he pulls up

00:06:57
the footage from the fight, you know, the night before I was

00:07:03
just like, even before the footage came up, I was like,

00:07:05
Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, this is not going to turn out the way

00:07:10
that you wanted to. They're not going to see what

00:07:13
you think, you saw and even on, even on the video.

00:07:18
Yes, it's clear that he's looking at something, but it

00:07:22
looks so much. Different watching it from like

00:07:25
an outsider's point of view than it does from when we saw it.

00:07:28
Because when we saw it, of course it's clear, you know,

00:07:31
he's running from the Jackal, he's fighting, he's throwing his

00:07:34
bag. But then when you look at it on

00:07:36
the security cameras, kind of like do what are you doing?

00:07:40
Here because they you realize like the jackals didn't really

00:07:44
hit anything like that. That cools is going after him

00:07:48
and again it makes him look like in that case it's basically like

00:07:52
like a like a Marvel version of mr.

00:07:54
Snuffleupagus. He's like he's right there and

00:07:56
then he's not right there. So it's like and nobody believes

00:07:59
that he was there. So he's like he's basically Big

00:08:02
Bird time tell people that mr. Snuffleupagus is chasing him.

00:08:04
And he's like, what do you want about this?

00:08:06
Nobody's chasing you and it's like we're a point of order mr.

00:08:10
Stuff Elliptic, is his real, you know what I mean?

00:08:17
But nobody saw it. See, I would be the one to be

00:08:20
like. Yeah.

00:08:21
I think that Jack was all in his mind Snuffy, however, is real.

00:08:24
And it's funny because this is the second conversation where

00:08:28
mr. Snuffleupagus is come up for me

00:08:30
in the last week. So the fact that you just

00:08:33
randomly brought that up Anthony.

00:08:35
It's just like weird for my brother.

00:08:40
Me. It's a it means I have no

00:08:43
opinion because I don't have any real imaginary friends.

00:08:47
That's the shape of the stroller.

00:08:49
Yeah, I mean what if he destroys the bathroom?

00:08:53
That's not the mr. Snuffleupagus thing because

00:08:58
babies like you destroyed. The knew that was you poor baby

00:09:03
because wait, where he starts hitting?

00:09:05
No, you got to look, you got that.

00:09:06
I was like Stephen stop. Stop.

00:09:07
Stop stop. And it's like this.

00:09:10
Was one of those episodes where I was constantly talking to the

00:09:12
TV like poop? No.

00:09:14
Just just go. No.

00:09:16
Just it was one of those where you kind of like, okay, Stephen

00:09:20
obviously I understand this is still all new to you, but I

00:09:24
think you are aware enough to notice.

00:09:27
Um, yeah. Something's not right.

00:09:31
I need to let this go. I need to not say anything to

00:09:34
anybody because what happens when you do that kind of stuff,

00:09:37
somebody's coming after you, somebody's trying.

00:09:40
Kill you or whatever and we don't really know at this point,

00:09:46
what the deal is with him. We just know that whenever he

00:09:48
needs to get violent, he blacks out he wakes up and there's like

00:09:51
bodies dropped and blood on his hands and all this other stuff.

00:09:57
You know, I was thinking about I was like, okay when you look at

00:10:00
his hair and his clothes and the fact that he's always like

00:10:03
waking up in blood, he reminds me of Huey from the boys because

00:10:08
Huey is always covered in blood. It's always Steven at this

00:10:12
point. I can see that too, and, and the

00:10:15
sad thing is Stephen is he's not aware of why he's covered in

00:10:20
blood but import thing. Anyway, so yeah.

00:10:27
So he has the the meeting at the Museum once they realize, okay,

00:10:32
once they look at the tape and they see it was him, he has to

00:10:34
go talk to the boss, which I am. So glad was not that other

00:10:39
chick. Oh my God, doctor.

00:10:43
I'm so glad it wasn't Donna because I think with Donna, he

00:10:46
would have been like, definitely not only out of a job but he

00:10:50
would have been very, very humiliated as well.

00:10:52
She seems like the type who would not only fire him but she

00:10:56
would belittle him. And then walk him out in front

00:11:01
of everybody, you know, the whole put your things in a box

00:11:04
and walk you out with security. She seems like that type.

00:11:08
She sure got him hemmed up. She would have called the cops

00:11:10
and had 12 cops as For him like out like handcuffed and just

00:11:15
like, pushing him and shoving him and like, totally making the

00:11:17
scene out of it. She would totally get him

00:11:19
arrested. Yeah.

00:11:20
So, at least, he was able to speak with someone who realizes

00:11:24
that he was going through some kind of mental break, but still

00:11:27
the fact that he basically lost his job, you know, and I'm just

00:11:33
like, This is not going to be good one, because now he's going

00:11:39
to be at home all the time and we still you know, there's still

00:11:44
so much going on with him and Mark and then now we have Layla

00:11:49
into the picture Layla was the person who was like calling back

00:11:52
to back to back to back to back to back to back.

00:11:55
And what we find out is that is Mark's wife And I'm like oh this

00:12:02
just got way more complicated than it needs to be.

00:12:05
Because again how I wonder how long he's been, he's been

00:12:13
fighting the emergence of Steven or any other personas that he

00:12:17
has to get like she had no clue. So as she's sitting there

00:12:24
talking to Steve and he takes her to his apartment, she's

00:12:28
thinking you know, So you just went out and started this whole

00:12:32
new life, you just disappeared and apparently he is also like

00:12:36
filed for divorce. So it's just like, Mark

00:12:43
obviously has a complicated life obviously and the crazy thing is

00:12:50
it's not one when we're introduced to layla.

00:12:55
It's one of those things where it's kind of like she doesn't

00:12:57
know about Steven and she doesn't know about Mark silly.

00:13:01
But she pretty much just fit right in like she picks him up

00:13:04
off the street after he's you know, this was like after he

00:13:08
went to the storage unit but she just she picks him up.

00:13:13
She takes him to his place and it's just kind of like he's

00:13:16
telling her all of this stuff and she's just like, okay like

00:13:19
she's a little bit in disbelief because of the fact that she

00:13:21
hasn't heard from Mark, but I feel like she was kind of like

00:13:24
putting things together and her head still like, okay.

00:13:27
So hmm. Let's see.

00:13:30
He's Pretending to be someone else.

00:13:32
But he seems really sincere about pretending to be someone

00:13:36
else. Like, you know, she at first

00:13:39
she's thinking that he's faking it because he just doesn't want

00:13:43
to be with her, whatever the case is and then as he's trying

00:13:47
to explain it to her as Stephen is trying to explain it to her

00:13:51
and he shows her the stuff he got from the storage locker.

00:13:54
She's just like Hmm. Okay.

00:13:59
I think, I think, I think it was easy for her because easier it

00:14:04
at first, because it made you fat, it doesn't seem like his

00:14:08
first time, he's had fake identities.

00:14:10
Hmm, and he seems like, she knows that he will.

00:14:14
He has been Shady things and we'll do Shady things.

00:14:17
He'd been Shady things together so it's not like.

00:14:21
So, it's a little weird that he's acting like he's completely

00:14:25
someone different, As opposed to, just having a fake, you

00:14:29
know, pass Porter's, right? Because this is kind of threw

00:14:32
her off a little bit. Yeah, I think she's used to him,

00:14:35
you know, being, you know, pretending to be other people.

00:14:40
Yeah. But I mean, for someone who is

00:14:45
married and this is your, your spouse to go into all of that.

00:14:50
Like, even with the fake accent like she's just looking at this.

00:14:57
What. But yeah you know I think the

00:15:00
more that we learn about Layla especially in this episode

00:15:05
because she's like when she finds the Scarab she's like,

00:15:07
excuse me where are we supposed to be doing this together and

00:15:11
and now you've got stuff and you're hiding from me and the

00:15:16
fuck dude it's almost like she's expecting that.

00:15:18
He's double-crossing her but he's not poor.

00:15:23
Mark poor. Stevie I don't know which one

00:15:25
I'm sympathizing. More with at this point because

00:15:28
Stephen just his whole life has been turned upside down.

00:15:32
And now that we know about Layla and Mark a little bit more is

00:15:36
kind of like, okay, so Marcus married.

00:15:40
He's obviously been trying to like push her away.

00:15:44
Probably because of whatever it is that he's doing for khonshu

00:15:47
and of course she has no clue but she starting to put this

00:15:50
stuff together like. Oh okay so you had this stuff

00:15:53
you have the Scarab and you just been not taking my calls and

00:15:56
What the hell is going on? He's like, I don't know.

00:16:02
And on top of all that, it seems like she has more chest more

00:16:05
chemistry and connection with Stephen at times.

00:16:08
Then she does look Margaret reading, reading reading,

00:16:11
obscure fridge. Poetry together like in unison,

00:16:14
I'm like, What is funny, but but the funny thing is, you know, he

00:16:21
has the book on his shelf because he's like is my favorite

00:16:25
author, she's like no, it's mine.

00:16:28
So, obviously Steven has some, maybe some memory of some of the

00:16:35
stuff that Mark is done and maybe just isn't conscious of it

00:16:37
again. This is only the second episode.

00:16:39
So we don't exactly know how those to, you know, interact

00:16:45
with each other. If they've interacted with each

00:16:48
other, obviously they haven't because Steven doesn't know who

00:16:51
Mark is, he has no clue. But Mark is obviously, he's

00:16:56
obviously familiar with Stephen. Yeah, okay.

00:17:00
Okay. At this point of watching this

00:17:02
episode, this point when they showed it, it reminded me of

00:17:05
watching Daniel Jackson, trying to impress us, Samantha, Carter,

00:17:08
on Stargate. This is what I got.

00:17:10
I'm just saying that's the fuel. I got Daniel Jackson trying to

00:17:14
impress somebody Yeah, because he's like, I, you know, the

00:17:19
highlig lifx here and and, and, and the French poet tree here

00:17:23
and we have this here. And and of course, he'll just

00:17:26
the weirdest thing down Jackson. This is Steven, right?

00:17:29
Right? Steven, he's trying to make

00:17:32
sense of what's going on, but the same time, he's obviously

00:17:36
flirting with her. He's obviously trying to, you

00:17:38
know, impress her but the same time she's like, well, I know

00:17:41
you was my husband Marc Spector, but you're saying your name is

00:17:46
When Grant, and it's like, you're looking at her and she's

00:17:49
like, well, I kind of made me like, like this person a little

00:17:54
bit more but at the same time, I got to believe what he says.

00:17:57
So that I got whole Stargate thing, that's what I got.

00:18:00
Yes, it's kind of like having a have it a symbiote and they're

00:18:05
just like, going back and forth between no, no, no, I'm talking

00:18:12
more. So I'm talking about Lori

00:18:14
Stargate reference like Like, like you have tilt in one minute

00:18:18
and then you have the gold. And, and another is right kind

00:18:21
of laugh. And he's got the thing with him

00:18:23
being the John fund, and then he flips.

00:18:25
And remember, when remember, when he would go out in the real

00:18:28
world, he beat Mari with the hatch, you know?

00:18:33
Okay, people I'm gonna do a lot of Stargate during Moon night.

00:18:37
He's not now, I'm clicking on all cylinders here, but yeah,

00:18:40
no, it was, yeah, that's what it is.

00:18:42
But see now, I was watching this with Mark and I right now, on my

00:18:47
screen, you have the whole storage locker think.

00:18:50
And just the way they shot that with the free stop and it was,

00:18:54
it was beautiful. And I said, I haven't seen the

00:18:56
other three episodes because we're stacking, you know, to

00:18:59
watch them on the weekends but this episode Sleep.

00:19:03
Probably the best thing that I've seen from Disney since

00:19:06
Falcon anywhere Soldier. I mean, I enjoyed this so much,

00:19:09
it was so much fun and in that scene that she's talking about

00:19:12
like in when he's in the hallway and they're like, did there to

00:19:16
hitting the lights the lights go off, right?

00:19:18
And come back on using khonshu didn't cook.

00:19:20
The Devil comes out and he's not there.

00:19:22
It's like they're ramping up like this is for Disney plus

00:19:26
like yes. Is some heavy like yo, that's

00:19:30
some scary shit like I understand.

00:19:34
See, I think, I think this was kind of, they're playing when

00:19:37
they when they were bringing over to think the social

00:19:39
Netflix, like Daredevil and all that and they said that you had

00:19:43
to switch to having saying that you're over 18 to be able to

00:19:46
watch certain things or they would like put them somewhere

00:19:49
else where kids can't get to him.

00:19:51
Hmm. Well, I think they're probably

00:19:52
doing that with this to God. I think this person they saw

00:19:54
this coming, they're like, oh yeah, we should probably do

00:19:57
something because if you're not going to get letters from people

00:20:00
saying their 8 year olds are seeing Seeing Crow skulls in

00:20:04
their beds and stuff like that's just not yeah no you're

00:20:07
completely right? Because you take them the

00:20:10
Netflix, Marvel stuff, you know, as a whole, but if my favorite

00:20:14
one, of course, I've told you is Defenders because the Defenders

00:20:17
is so grown up, right? Or even the stuff with Hogarth,

00:20:21
you know, Jerry Carrie-Anne Moss in its characters and her thing,

00:20:24
it's so adult that when you you signed in that day it was like I

00:20:28
had to go through like you said all the things that I Mark and I

00:20:31
had to do it for his account too.

00:20:32
And it's like, wow Disney is stepping up, which makes me

00:20:37
hopeful for the rest of this Plus for Kenobi.

00:20:41
Plus She-Hulk because, you know, She-Hulk is going to go there.

00:20:45
I mean Bills going to be zero if it's like the Like Comics like

00:20:49
oh, oh that's swell. We'll get into her displaying

00:20:54
partition that off. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but

00:20:58
yeah, I agree. It would full horror like, I was

00:21:00
like, like, like the whole day, It was like intense like him

00:21:05
running and then I loved like she said we did a freeze frame.

00:21:08
He was like no! It's like that.

00:21:10
Let me tell you, construe scares me.

00:21:15
And the funny thing is I don't think he's particularly scary as

00:21:19
a god person character. Like I feel like he talks more

00:21:25
shit than anything and he's not particularly like Foreboding in

00:21:32
that sense but it's just something about that that mask

00:21:36
and I think it's because I'm a I'm sure as kids we've all seen

00:21:40
like dead birds on the street whatever.

00:21:43
But like when I was a kid, we used to always find them like we

00:21:47
had lots of trees in our area nest and so you will find baby

00:21:51
birds like out of their nest which I just only recently found

00:21:54
out that mother birds will sometimes kill their babies.

00:21:59
And by just, Breaking their necks and tossing them over

00:22:02
Nest, which I think is very disturbing but we will see those

00:22:07
babies kind of decompose after time.

00:22:09
And I was just like, why are you reminding me of creepy things

00:22:14
for my childhood, this is just not cool.

00:22:18
Like I sit there and I look at him and I'm just kind of like I

00:22:21
feel like a seven-year-old just kind of like no, I don't want to

00:22:25
do this. I mean, I understand how Steven

00:22:28
feels because if I was single Nick, like he doesn't have a

00:22:32
neck. So it's just so the skull just

00:22:33
kind of Twirls around on their shoulders, like, just hovers

00:22:37
like turns and it's like and, and his attitude doesn't really

00:22:41
match. She's like this, the snarky old

00:22:43
man scary in there. So it looks like it's kind of

00:22:57
like it's kind of like looking at Deadpool.

00:23:00
Like Deadpool has on this suit. He's got the, he's got the

00:23:03
katanas and he's just like, you know, when you see them walking

00:23:07
around and fighting he looks like totally badass and you

00:23:11
don't want to fuck with him and then he opens his mouth and it's

00:23:14
just like, bro. This is what we get, that's hot.

00:23:19
That's kind of how I feel with constant.

00:23:21
Khonshu is like all talk, no, no, no scary, no nothing.

00:23:27
You know who else is like that? Venom Remove his you say we

00:23:33
weren't gonna talk about Venom just say that in the matter of

00:23:38
fact I think I said that but I mean I mean it's valid.

00:23:42
I mean just like he bites, he bites of dudes, head off and

00:23:45
then you're like, you don't take him seriously after that know,

00:23:48
especially when he Blends at you with those huge teeth.

00:23:52
Yeah. I mean he okay, yeah, we're not

00:23:55
going to talk about Ben. That's a whole other joke.

00:23:57
No other show. But I don't talk about About

00:24:00
this then. No, no, no.

00:24:03
I wasn't going to go there. No, you, but you knew Mike was

00:24:08
so clear. Come on is get out of my way.

00:24:12
So, okay, but talking about the storage locker.

00:24:15
So, of course, Steven goes to the storage locker, you know, he

00:24:19
looks at all of these different places and then he finally gets

00:24:22
to one of the franchise has been like, yeah, I know you coming

00:24:28
here every such and he was like, oh my Really I do.

00:24:32
And the guys look at him, like, do you stand in front of me with

00:24:35
the key, like, what's going on? So, it's really interesting

00:24:40
looking at how other people are reacting to him.

00:24:42
Because, of course, Steven doesn't know about a lot of the

00:24:45
stuff that Mark does. So, like, Steven ends up in

00:24:47
places and they're like, yeah, you've been here before we've

00:24:49
seen you before, like, at the pet store.

00:24:51
He's just like um no and they're like, um, yes, like here, we can

00:24:58
show, you know. But him finding marks duffel bag

00:25:06
like first of all it always trips me out whenever you see

00:25:09
this in a TV show but who the hell is actually going to stay

00:25:13
asleep in a storage locker, those things?

00:25:16
Get hot. I know that they say that their

00:25:18
climate control, I've been in one.

00:25:21
Those things are not climate control.

00:25:23
Not in that sense, you and he's got the, the little cot, the

00:25:28
military cop. He's got his back.

00:25:30
Bag and it's got like all of this money, all of these

00:25:35
passports and Steve is just looking like, hey, is that a

00:25:40
gun? Is that a pet who is this?

00:25:44
And then, of course, you start hearing Mark, talking to him.

00:25:46
And this becomes a really interesting conversation,

00:25:48
because it's like Marcus finally explaining to him.

00:25:51
Yeah. So this is how this works.

00:25:56
I work for Toms shoe, or we work for khonshu, I guess you can say

00:26:01
but yeah, you're not supposed to be interfering, you're not

00:26:04
supposed to be here. Steve is like This is my body.

00:26:07
This is my life. I just, I don't know, but I feel

00:26:13
like, I feel like he's adjusting pretty well for someone who just

00:26:17
found out that he's not the only person living in his head.

00:26:20
Well, he's had other people. I think all along side note in

00:26:24
the Dresden Files in, turncoat. The book turncoat dresden's.

00:26:29
Go to place was a storage locker and he had his go back and

00:26:32
everything there. So it is a Trope in science

00:26:36
fiction. I know urban fantasy to have the

00:26:39
storage locker. Be your Go Oh to play.

00:26:41
So seeing that wasn't as weird as you would think it's pretty

00:26:44
calm know and I and I understand that I mean John Winchester had

00:26:48
a whole storage locker full of Supernatural artifacts.

00:26:51
So right? I get that.

00:26:54
It's just so weird to me like when it comes to but I guess

00:27:00
it's a good hiding place because nobody's been think to look for

00:27:02
a person in a storage locker, right?

00:27:04
Which is, which is what Dresden did when they had the whole

00:27:07
thing with what happened in the book.

00:27:08
But the thing is, does that There are, I know a few people

00:27:13
who actually try to do it, but they don't let you do that

00:27:18
because you check the storage lockers out here in California.

00:27:20
But I know a few people who if they could get away with it,

00:27:23
would actually live in a storage locker with all the stuff

00:27:27
because they're Preppers. And let's go time.

00:27:30
It's not just the people who are doing that right now.

00:27:32
Like really living in it. Yeah.

00:27:34
Like people do that all the time around here.

00:27:37
They get a big storage locker. They just like setup.

00:27:39
It's a Trust me, it's a YouTube rabbit hole that you'll be down

00:27:43
for like two hours now. Why watching people set up beds

00:27:47
kitchens and everything in like a storage locker?

00:27:51
That's no bigger. That's like a little bit bigger

00:27:54
than like a like a double closet.

00:27:56
How do you set up a kitchen in a storage locker?

00:28:00
Well, as someone who's very to a prepper, it's possible since it

00:28:07
gets you a system to get water to have water.

00:28:10
So, yep. You can do the water pipe.

00:28:12
You can get the whole thing. Yeah, you can do it.

00:28:14
You can, you can conceivably set you up.

00:28:16
Set yourself up with a kitchen in about an hour.

00:28:20
Like I said, I'm married to a prepper.

00:28:22
We have a canoe in our living room in a box.

00:28:24
We have a two person could do so.

00:28:26
Yeah, I am. I not surprised.

00:28:30
I bet you. I bet you guys have parachutes

00:28:32
to don't, you don't give him any ideas.

00:28:35
Is he listening smart. Don't know, that, ignore that.

00:28:39
Mark, get it. Get it.

00:28:40
Couple pair of shoes, just in case did San Andreas fault Falls

00:28:43
in you going to need parachutes. Look, I was told that I can't

00:28:46
get to Reno because the fault lines.

00:28:49
Oh, I'm already upset about that.

00:28:50
But no conceivably, you could do that.

00:28:53
But to the other thing, with this whole thing with conch, you

00:28:56
and him with a split personality thing is that I truly believe

00:29:00
that. And I don't know, because I

00:29:02
haven't seen, there's like three episodes I haven't seen yet.

00:29:05
I almost want to say that even though Stephen Grant isn't the

00:29:09
base personnel. I get a feeling that they might

00:29:12
change it at the end of the series, and actually make

00:29:15
Stephen the base, and make Mark the secondary because the comic

00:29:19
books it's Mark. So, I don't know again, I

00:29:22
haven't seen the three, but, ya know, that whole scene with the

00:29:25
store or soccer fascinating stuff.

00:29:27
There are also situations where it would behoove them to have.

00:29:31
Steven be the main, like, if they's like because because of

00:29:34
his vast knowledge of Egyptian more like when they were in

00:29:37
Egypt, there probably is probably better to have him out.

00:29:40
Out then then they have Mark out and also as far as far as the

00:29:45
storage locker, I'm actually impressed that they have walls

00:29:48
that are buff to a mirror shine because I've as many many

00:29:52
storage lockers, as I've had the privilege or around privilege of

00:29:56
having being part of, I've never seen mirror buffed walls.

00:30:00
In those bad boys, true? Yeah.

00:30:03
Yeah. They that that's a stat design

00:30:06
choice because yeah, they're usually grungy.

00:30:08
Yeah, because I guess I'm Mark had to talk some way.

00:30:10
So so, so I'm not a person that that freeze frames, anything

00:30:15
lies, whatever. Whatever it is, I was seriously,

00:30:21
I did scan, the QR code on the Locker number and it takes you

00:30:25
to the Marvel website. It's where, will the nitrite

00:30:28
comment? Oh yeah, yeah, they need, they

00:30:30
promote that the world find out. Yeah, that was actually kind of

00:30:32
cool. I think they did that in the

00:30:36
first episode as well. I think there was a QR code

00:30:39
somewhere in the museum. And yeah see that is what they

00:30:44
do that. That is very smart and werewolf

00:30:46
by night is part of the midnight Sons again.

00:30:50
Yes, right there. See, there's this is what

00:30:53
they're doing. They're set me up for a fall

00:30:55
again. This is this is this is why I'm

00:30:57
listening to me one division. This is one division all over

00:30:59
again, for setting me up and I'm gonna fall for it because I've

00:31:03
already fallen for it. I'm already looking for like go

00:31:06
looking for Ghost Riders in the background.

00:31:08
Like I said, that Danny, that John-Boy.

00:31:10
If serves Chopper like, I'm already looking the send me a

00:31:14
football. Biggest disappointment was

00:31:16
agents of s.h.i.e.l.d. with that.

00:31:18
One year. We already talked about this

00:31:20
Lorry. We are not gonna talk about

00:31:22
Robby. Ray has right now.

00:31:23
All right. So so so Mike.

00:31:26
Remind me what blade is part of? That's right.

00:31:29
I can't remember. Yes, blade is Blaze part of been

00:31:31
my son's? Yes.

00:31:33
So, would it be cool if Marciano Marcy are much Rob?

00:31:36
Yeah, give it to me, Ali. Ursula anyway, Marshall on her.

00:31:47
Give it to me. Ma her la la, la, that would be

00:31:55
cool. I'm expecting it.

00:31:59
Really, I want to see him in him in Black night at the end just

00:32:10
Yeah. Yeah.

00:32:12
Like maybe like like oh boy at the end of middle of Battlestar

00:32:15
Galactica when they're all after the Cylon attack and he looks at

00:32:19
everyone in room he goes we need to talk and they all fall into

00:32:21
the room just like that. Yes, I feel about look like yes.

00:32:24
I'm yeah. Yeah, they'll be fire though.

00:32:26
I would lose my, my Collective buying whatever little brain

00:32:30
cells. I have left.

00:32:31
If that happens like for real. That would be awesome.

00:32:35
But yeah, I think that honestly believe that there's no, I just

00:32:40
feel it. I'm like, they have to, like, my

00:32:42
no. But then I thought they'd have

00:32:44
to show Mephisto to and you know what?

00:32:47
Yes, we're not going to talk about that.

00:32:48
I brought up a fist of reference today.

00:32:50
And one of our listeners, one of our lives.

00:32:53
Sanders. Carlos, this was on Twitter, he

00:32:54
was like, okay I'm done with this conversation.

00:32:57
Wait, I was, you miss him a fist?

00:32:59
I thought I felt something in my on the back of my ear like

00:33:02
someone mentioning them Fizzles like what?

00:33:04
For so, we're hmmm. Confirmed, confirmed.

00:33:08
Yeah, no. Not at all.

00:33:12
Not at all. But I noticed that after, after

00:33:17
you mention it, when we talked about the first episode, might I

00:33:21
started seeing the Midnight Sun. Stuff going around on the

00:33:24
internet, like different different writers bloggers.

00:33:29
I saw it on Twitter. I was like, okay, I was like,

00:33:33
I'm not going to fall down that rabbit hole because that's what

00:33:35
we did with one Division and look where it got us like.

00:33:39
So our catchphrases come from the whole One Division thing

00:33:42
now, because of how bad we got stung.

00:33:44
So it's Hanukkah, what's this? You know what?

00:33:48
I'm not, it's me falling down the rabbit hole already going.

00:33:52
No no, no, I'll do it. My don't do it, don't do it.

00:33:57
Why I'm falling. Yeah.

00:34:01
But that that whole eye and the thing is like, for all that Mark

00:34:06
told him. I feel like he could have told

00:34:08
there's still a whole lot of stuff that he didn't tell him.

00:34:11
Of course, like again, we're only episode 2.

00:34:15
Yeah. Is that what you could tell

00:34:16
like, you could tell he was he was Measuring?

00:34:18
What he could tell him because he was as you like, are you sure

00:34:21
you want to? You sure you want to know, he's

00:34:23
like, yeah, tell me. Tell me.

00:34:24
He's like, all right, he's going through his mind.

00:34:28
Like, what can I tell him? I gotta tell him something, so

00:34:30
that he'll chill the fuck out. Mmm.

00:34:32
It's like, yeah. But I mean, I Gotta Give it to

00:34:36
give it to I'm Stephen because he had the backbone.

00:34:38
He was like, you want me to lay down?

00:34:40
I'm not laying down. I'm gonna go, I'm taking this to

00:34:42
the proper authorities to I'm getting some drugs.

00:34:44
I'm going to go to the, I lay down there.

00:34:47
Let's give him props for looking out for his mental health.

00:34:52
See, this is a, that's a healthy mental attitudes are for him to

00:34:55
say, I think I'm going crazy. I'm going to the authorities,

00:34:58
I'm turning myself in. Give me medicine.

00:34:59
Let me lay down. This is true.

00:35:01
It's good. Mental health, but but, hey, you

00:35:05
already have had a jackal come after you when you've already

00:35:10
met this guy that you thought was only in your dreams and he

00:35:14
shows up at your job as It's enough for you to be like okay

00:35:19
you know what, that's more than coincidental and then of course,

00:35:23
as he and Leila are at his apartment, he gets a knock on

00:35:26
the door from the police and he's like, um, yeah, I know you

00:35:32
guys are here about this the damage at the Museum I've

00:35:35
already been fired. They've already, it's already

00:35:38
been taken care of and when they walk in, they start asking him

00:35:41
questions. I was like these are not like

00:35:44
real police. Don't know.

00:35:47
Take the tea she asked, could they come in?

00:35:49
And he was like, well, I don't think so.

00:35:51
Then the one, then the one guy busted, he's like, thank you.

00:35:54
It's like, I was like, oh dang. I don't know.

00:35:57
Steven was black that sucks before before we leave.

00:36:02
So before we leave the storage facility and talk about Oscar

00:36:07
Isaac and how well he acted with himself.

00:36:10
And it seemed man. Listen, he's brilliant.

00:36:15
I've mentioned this in the first.

00:36:17
Episode watching this man in this role is like what it is.

00:36:21
We're being taught a Master Class, Real.

00:36:25
He's become, he's fastly. Becoming my favorite actor like

00:36:28
I'll watch anything he's in now like, for real.

00:36:30
I'll literally watch whatever. He's in, is making me mad.

00:36:33
It made me kind of mad. I don't know.

00:36:35
I might not watch the next dude because he's not, he might not

00:36:37
be in it. Now, I'm gonna be like, no, I

00:36:40
don't think I can watch it if Oscar is not in it but he is.

00:36:43
Yeah, line like it lucky and said he's not yeah.

00:36:47
And I am line, but that's beside the point.

00:36:48
That's Ambiance zebra. Oscar Isaac in this series has

00:36:52
setting the bar way up here for all the next series.

00:36:57
Like I don't think you can't really top it.

00:36:59
I don't see how you can top his performance here because it's

00:37:02
like the axes that he takes the body language that he uses the

00:37:08
gestures that he uses is, like the, even the eye movement, like

00:37:13
you could tell like he like Steve, it looks different like

00:37:17
He always has like a eyebrows always, always always up here

00:37:20
when he's mark his eyebrows were down and he serious.

00:37:23
It's like he he he is acting with his whole entire body.

00:37:29
And it's like, if he doesn't win, if he doesn't win all the

00:37:34
awards than I'm like, I mean, he's basically the subsonic of

00:37:38
acting this year. It's like, he needs to use his

00:37:40
sweep. Everything he's nominated for

00:37:42
like all of that comparison, both of folks.

00:37:47
Look when he wears, is he gonna get up from the table?

00:37:49
Like, Silk Sonic. That's going to be a different

00:37:52
personality. Right?

00:37:53
Exactly. So he's gonna, he's gonna get up

00:37:55
like, oh, man, maybe he'll call that one Bruno.

00:37:59
You call that one Anderson be like, no, he's even a Mark or

00:38:03
Steve going to go up to the stage and slap him when he never

00:38:06
mind exists. No, I know where you're getting

00:38:11
ahead of know where you're going.

00:38:15
I like that. I like that.

00:38:17
But yeah, I'm yeah he's he is doing the Hughes.

00:38:20
This is some of the best acting I've seen in a while.

00:38:23
Like he's crazy, he's killing it, he's so good, so good.

00:38:26
And I like it because you get to see more of him like I seen him

00:38:31
and other things, of course, you know, Star Wars doing, like you

00:38:36
said, just and I'm thinking just on the like, fantasy genre

00:38:42
scope, you know, we've seen him in those characters and Was

00:38:47
fairly prominent in Star Wars, but I still feel like we didn't

00:38:51
really get to see as much of him as we're seeing now, or maybe

00:38:57
it's just that because he's playing a character that

00:39:01
basically has another person living inside of him.

00:39:03
Like, I don't know what kind of prep he did for this role but

00:39:06
it's almost like he read for two different parts and just

00:39:09
decided, okay, I'm gonna put them together and I'm going to

00:39:12
put use them in the same show and it's just that at some

00:39:15
points. I'll be this person.

00:39:17
And at some purse, I'll be this person and they're like, Stephen

00:39:20
is on one end of the spectrum. And Mark is all the way over

00:39:25
here on the other. See, why did you have to mention

00:39:28
his role as Poe Dameron? I'm going to resist the urge and

00:39:33
of going down a rabbit hole about that, and I'm just gonna

00:39:37
ignore that whole situation especially with him and Finn.

00:39:42
Hello, heavy. Do you mean you mean him and

00:39:44
Finn being lovers? Yes, you should tell them.

00:39:46
I'm gonna stop. Yes.

00:39:47
A whole other conversation with someone at least.

00:39:50
Let's see. I think, I think also, I think

00:39:52
that he, that he is really trying to exercise the image of

00:39:57
him being Apocalypse in the that damn, it makes me a movie.

00:40:03
He'd be, the was good job, and it's easy to know that it's not

00:40:06
him. I completely forgot that it was

00:40:09
him until people started posting the memes and I was like, it's

00:40:13
pretend, he's not here. It's like wait, that wasn't him

00:40:16
even Oscar. Isaac is pretending that wasn't

00:40:18
him. That was terrible.

00:40:20
That was the worst thing they could ever dish it.

00:40:22
That what they did was Sonic when they, when they, when they

00:40:25
had the first Sonic out that looks scary as hell.

00:40:27
With those little beady eyes and they fixed it and made the eyes,

00:40:30
the size. They were supposed to be, that's

00:40:32
what they should have done. When him and took those damn

00:40:34
that damn those damn shoulder pads shoulder pad collar that he

00:40:37
had on off and actually made him look like he did in damn comic

00:40:41
book series and see their read anything.

00:40:43
Let me start thinking about Taskmaster can really count on

00:40:46
those are so cool. I'm good Leah.

00:40:49
It's like we're not going to go on that tangent.

00:40:51
Thank you so I but yeah it's like he I mean he is I mean

00:40:56
there's so much and this like really diversifies the the work

00:41:01
that he's done. Like I mean from Doom to puppy

00:41:05
if you look at Poe Dameron and this character you're like it's

00:41:09
night and day. It's like he's uh normal just

00:41:12
use almost unrecognizable. For real is like he's that shows

00:41:16
how good of a job. Job.

00:41:17
He's doing. Yeah but you know I was thinking

00:41:21
because you know, when the cops are in his apartment And the

00:41:26
dude finds his passport and people keep saying, okay, you're

00:41:31
this person, you're this person or we've seen your, whatever my

00:41:35
question is. And I know this is probably

00:41:36
because, you know, thinking on the Fly is not really, Steven

00:41:40
strong suit, unless it comes to Egyptian stuff, we're seeing.

00:41:43
I'm like to just tell people you have a twin like that will solve

00:41:48
so much like that's my twin brother.

00:41:51
We were separated at Birth. We just recently found Each

00:41:54
other. I mean, it could work.

00:41:58
Yeah but but I mean this is all new to him he's probably he's

00:42:01
probably so far from thinking on his feet right now.

00:42:04
Yeah, he's just like like he can't do any of that even if he

00:42:09
could have before. Now with everything that's going

00:42:11
on, there's absolutely no chance that he can think on his feet

00:42:14
that fast. Yeah, but it's the funny thing

00:42:17
is it's like even when they're in the cop car and they're

00:42:21
they're they're riding and he's telling them he's like look This

00:42:25
is not me because they're looking on the computer and they

00:42:27
see. Oh my specters, like an

00:42:29
international criminal, you know, dropping bodies and all

00:42:34
the stuff he was like, that's not me.

00:42:36
I'm like, how can you not talk to this dude?

00:42:39
For 2 minutes? And not realize, something is

00:42:42
wrong, because there's no way this mild-mannered soft-spoken

00:42:49
person Is this? And I mean, I know you're

00:42:55
looking at the physical evidence will.

00:42:57
He's got the same face, is this perfect?

00:43:01
Come on. Now, especially if you work for

00:43:04
someone like Harrow, which we find out something from from

00:43:08
from his perspective, from his perspective, you're right, but

00:43:11
from their perspective Harrell has probably already told them.

00:43:15
His mind is fractured because you know later we learned that

00:43:18
they work for her. So they already know that.

00:43:20
He's my heat Heroes probably already told him.

00:43:23
Yeah. The only snow Every fifth his

00:43:25
mind is fractured right? Just bring em here.

00:43:27
Yeah it's bringing me they know this, right?

00:43:31
Because Harrow just what we see of him in this episode when he's

00:43:37
sitting there talking to Steven. And again this is going to come

00:43:40
into that conversation Anthony and I had a conversation in my

00:43:44
office last week. We were talking about villains

00:43:47
and those who are getting Redemption arcs or those who are

00:43:54
Kind of is like, what was that person will really wrong and I

00:43:59
don't know. There's something about Harold's

00:44:00
character. Like yes, I understand.

00:44:02
He's the villain in this story and he has nefarious, plans.

00:44:07
I'm going to go with all the little catch phrases but there's

00:44:11
also something about him that seems very very sincere.

00:44:17
Like he knows already like, even from the first time he met

00:44:22
Steven once he realized 500k. This do really does work in the

00:44:26
gift shop and he, you know, does the balance the scales or does

00:44:30
the scales test on him? He realizes that there's a lot

00:44:34
more going. So when they are together in

00:44:37
this scene, he tells him, he's like, it must be really hard.

00:44:42
Having all of those voices in your head and he says, Marc

00:44:45
Spector, Steven Grant khonshu and then we find out that he

00:44:51
used to be conscious Avatar. So I feel like even though he

00:44:56
seems like he's supposed to be the this villainous guy, the way

00:44:59
that he kind of comes comes across.

00:45:03
I don't know if I feel like he's a bad guy.

00:45:06
Like he has this thing in his mind where I met needs to be

00:45:11
Unleashed so that evil can be cast out of the world and we

00:45:18
don't know yet his full motivations for all of that.

00:45:20
But something about me tells me he's not just this this villain

00:45:25
it's kind of like going back to the whole endgame and you know,

00:45:28
Infinity Saga and thinking about Thanos.

00:45:31
Now the way that people Look at him.

00:45:34
Now, when we look at the newer Disney plus series light,

00:45:39
especially a hot guy, you know, you saw Thanos was right

00:45:42
everywhere because it's like after the fact, people started

00:45:46
thinking about what he did and why he supposedly did things.

00:45:49
And they're like, okay well maybe he had the right idea,

00:45:51
just went about it, the wrong way.

00:45:53
I kind of feel like you Harrell is that way too, so the way that

00:45:57
he kind of takes care of Stephen while he's there something tells

00:46:03
me that Wouldn't be the type of person to tell his his henchmen,

00:46:09
his ability, his cops, whatever you want to call them something

00:46:13
like his mind is broken, don't don't believe him.

00:46:16
He doesn't seem to me to be that type.

00:46:18
It will be more like he may be a little bit confused.

00:46:22
Just kind of not to believe him, just, you know, just go.

00:46:26
Just go with it, right, right? Yeah, but see you got, you got,

00:46:31
you still have to remember that. Harrow is Basically Jim Jones,

00:46:35
like he has followers, that are loyal to him to a fault that

00:46:40
would do anything. He says, and he's very cares.

00:46:43
He's charismatic. I mean, you got to look at this

00:46:45
way, they based Harrow, they based the character of Harrow

00:46:49
off of David koresh. So they're mean, they're

00:46:52
parallels there, too. It's like David koresh was very

00:46:55
charismatic, people loved him. People listen to him and

00:46:58
followed him, like, even when the walls were literally closing

00:47:03
and burn. In on them, they still were

00:47:05
there with him. And that's the, that's the signs

00:47:08
of a good cult leaders. Like you get people to do what

00:47:11
you do to do, what you say, no matter what and you you and it's

00:47:17
like you seem like you're not exhibiting effort to make them

00:47:21
do what you're getting them to do.

00:47:23
Hmm. And he's doing that.

00:47:25
It's like I mean he has people. Look at his compound is like he

00:47:28
has people learning three languages like little black

00:47:31
girl. Speaking Mandarin Wok.

00:47:32
No she was Not and we'll get into that.

00:47:35
But no, she was not kind of speaking Mandarin but then you

00:47:39
see but then you walk into the compound and see people with

00:47:41
headphones looking at whales swimming and you're like, huh

00:47:45
and then. Yeah.

00:47:46
And then eating like that, like vegan lentil soup and all this

00:47:51
other stuff and it's like, and people like getting along

00:47:54
because he told them like, this is the way follow me, and I will

00:47:58
lead you to Salvation, And it's like he is, Jim Jones, He is The

00:48:03
correct. He is all these charismatic

00:48:06
leaders that affect find people who have the correct mind state

00:48:11
for them to believe. What somebody who has a little

00:48:15
bit of Charisma, a nice smile and a head nod.

00:48:18
And they're like, okay and there they go.

00:48:21
I don't know about that. Nice smile, I don't think I've

00:48:23
seen Harold smile at all. Like hell.

00:48:27
I got a little have swimming, he's kind of serious but when he

00:48:30
does a little bit of a half-smile in there sometimes

00:48:33
but It's not my point is just like he, I mean, he has, he has

00:48:36
it, he has what he needs, he has that it factor and he like, you

00:48:41
know, he just gets people to, to listen to what he says and do

00:48:46
what he needs to be done. So it's like you just kind of, I

00:48:49
mean, yeah, he's charismatic. Yes.

00:48:52
Oh yeah, yeah. I could see how people could see

00:48:54
that. He has say, he has a point but

00:48:56
it's I mean, it's just like just like the great philosopher.

00:49:00
Fred Williamson said on the king cobra commercials, don't let the

00:49:03
Tastefully might you don't have you don't have to go that far

00:49:07
with aging us. Okay.

00:49:09
Cobra, you did not have to go that far with aging us.

00:49:13
It's bad enough. You made you mentioned David

00:49:16
koresh because I know most people are like people who are

00:49:18
younger than us. They're like who is that?

00:49:20
Because they didn't live through all of that and learning with

00:49:24
gold. That was like, was that late

00:49:27
milk? There was that long you're

00:49:29
talking about a generation, I thought was a little girl.

00:49:35
You're talking about a generation who you know, it's

00:49:39
who was walking around on Tick, Tock talking about who is Bon

00:49:42
Jovi, excuse you. So yeah, just it.

00:49:46
For those of you who are listening, who have no idea who

00:49:48
the hell Mike is talking about. Just go Google David koresh and

00:49:52
you will see. And yeah, it'll make like a

00:49:55
little Kor, right? And then we'll make a lot of

00:49:58
existential crisis right now. I don't think I can You did it.

00:50:05
It doesn't seem like it was that long ago.

00:50:07
Hey, yeah, it worked. We asked young people, whatever

00:50:10
golden oldies and then you feel old?

00:50:14
No, I don't know. We're not doing that doing that.

00:50:17
Oh my God, Boys. To Men.

00:50:18
That's a great old group. I was listening to an old-school

00:50:23
station and they play Rihanna. I was like, I'm done.

00:50:27
I'm done. No, not doing that.

00:50:32
But I see how our parents felt when in the 90s we talked about

00:50:36
80s as old school and 70s is old school.

00:50:40
Your old man, Stevie Wonder? Yeah, that old him in that old

00:50:43
school stuff is crazy. So we're just getting it, which

00:50:46
is getting it back, you know, turnabout's fair play.

00:50:49
I suppose or Like a Star Trek with Mira playing The Beastie

00:50:56
Boys song. He's like, what is this

00:50:57
classical music? You know we can actually we can

00:51:01
actually do a whole podcast episode about references that

00:51:06
age us that make people go huh. What God we could do W like a

00:51:11
five-part series fan. It would because because you

00:51:14
could do one on music, you could do one on TV shows you can do

00:51:17
one hour with us current event, right?

00:51:20
So yeah. Okay anyway, getting back to

00:51:22
Moonlight before we get too far off track.

00:51:25
Yeah. That's how she'll just even for

00:51:28
calling him out to after he told him his purpose.

00:51:30
He was like, oh, so y'all are good with killing kids.

00:51:33
Yeah. And everybody's kind of like

00:51:37
Well, when you put it that way, you guys like, Stephen put it

00:51:43
straight into perspective and Harold, kind of look Harold,

00:51:46
actually looked a little bit shook their to, like, you know,

00:51:49
he didn't kind of, he kind of didn't know what to say.

00:51:52
It was like, wait, what? So you judging people before?

00:51:54
They had a chance to correct themselves.

00:51:57
That doesn't seem right. Like, what if their children and

00:52:00
then he's like, right? I was like, I said, what are you

00:52:04
gonna? Are you gonna Kill a baby been

00:52:07
based on, like it's kind of like, I'm trying to think of one

00:52:11
inside. Oh, okay, I think it was was a

00:52:15
supernatural or there was another show.

00:52:19
I don't remember but somebody went back in time and kill kill

00:52:22
Hitler as a baby or that's that was the premise they were going

00:52:25
to kill Hitler as a baby. They're like but that's a baby.

00:52:28
They're like what he's going to become such and such.

00:52:32
So it's kind of like you you have that kind of like if you

00:52:36
have knowledge that somebody is going to do something horrible.

00:52:40
Like you have all of these TV shows and movies where people go

00:52:43
back in time and they try to change things.

00:52:45
Of course we know Minority Report.

00:52:48
Yeah, you can't do that but for someone like I'm at who says

00:52:52
okay I know that you're going to do this horrible thing, or

00:52:57
you're going to do that horrible thing.

00:52:58
So let's just go ahead and knock you out the way and then maybe

00:53:05
those horrible things won't happen.

00:53:06
Technically speaking, it hasn't happened yet, so it's not like,

00:53:10
it's a fixed point in time. You're eliminating it but then,

00:53:14
the more really comes in like, okay, but what if something else

00:53:19
happens in that person's life, that kind of takes them off of

00:53:23
that path and puts them on On a different path.

00:53:25
Like how do you how do you know specifically that?

00:53:29
Yes, this person is going to be bad.

00:53:31
You don't know that because we're humans human nature.

00:53:34
Changes us all the time. Somebody can be this Y.

00:53:38
And this y, the balancing is after your death and that during

00:53:43
your life, you know? And that's, that's the thing

00:53:48
with the Egyptian, right knowledge, right there.

00:53:52
Balance your life after you die. Not that.

00:53:56
Why you live taking into account things that you may or may not?

00:54:01
At least when you did, you've already been right?

00:54:04
And I'm thinking, I'm thinking very specifically about American

00:54:07
Gods. Now, when we come to that, you

00:54:09
know, you have the lady who was in the kitchen and she fell off

00:54:12
the chair and you know, she was told ya, you'll be fine, you're

00:54:17
going to go live a great afterlife and then you have

00:54:20
someone like Laura who literally was you No, yes we but yeah, and

00:54:28
okay, yeah, we won't go into that because but yeah, it's kind

00:54:32
of one of those things like, okay, so how who?

00:54:35
In and I understand she's a God. So, to ask the question, like,

00:54:39
who puts your, who made you the judge in rule.

00:54:42
Okay, well, she's God, that's kind of what they do, but I

00:54:45
don't think that is right that You judge someone based on

00:54:49
decisions, they have not made yet because again, you can

00:54:53
change there can be other circumstances.

00:54:55
Like, think about Steven, Steven, from what we see is an

00:54:58
inherently good person, but if you judge him based on what his

00:55:04
Alters are doing, like we already know, Mark is a killer,

00:55:09
you know, I don't think it's in this episode.

00:55:12
I think it's in the next episode.

00:55:13
So I'm not going to spoil it. But there is obviously, at least

00:55:18
More personality living in his brain because we kind of see

00:55:21
hints of that. So it's kind of like, but when

00:55:25
you come to somebody like Steven, like what do you judge

00:55:28
him based off of do you judge him based off of who the

00:55:32
original body belonged to do? You judge him based off?

00:55:35
Who was the more dominant Persona?

00:55:37
And at any given time like and I understand that's why the scales

00:55:42
were, you know, he couldn't be weighed because there was so

00:55:44
much chaos going on in his brain.

00:55:46
But still it's kind of like Like, who makes that

00:55:49
determination? Yes, it's interesting that I

00:55:53
meant and conscious. You are the two guys through a

00:55:55
sort of like kicked out to the side because on the one hand,

00:56:01
you have one who she's was punished for a balancing Lives

00:56:05
why people are alive. And then you have the other one.

00:56:08
He's killing people because you know if his hand of Justice or

00:56:13
whatever, those things aren't allowing people to live out.

00:56:18
Natural light, if you have the life balance, after they die.

00:56:22
So the kind of going against what the other guys to sort of

00:56:26
establishes, what we're supposed to do.

00:56:30
And then, you know, the other thing I'm thinking of is when I

00:56:34
was editing, our episode 4 episode 1, I was thinking about

00:56:40
what might say. I think it was Mike who was

00:56:42
saying it. You were saying something about

00:56:45
how you feel like you know how the show's And of give us one

00:56:49
thing to thank. And then they kind of throw us

00:56:51
for a loop by saying, oh yeah, we wanted you to go down this

00:56:54
path but we're going to take you down this path.

00:56:57
One Division, obviously, that sort of thing.

00:56:59
But Mike says something about wondering whether or not I meant

00:57:04
was not actually just eliminating the evil people, but

00:57:08
maybe I think you said something about maybe her and lemonade in

00:57:13
the good people. So that the only the evil people

00:57:16
actually Actually exist it. Yeah.

00:57:22
This is it because we look at him when he was in the village

00:57:25
like he he obviously got one of his henchmen and judged him and

00:57:29
said this is a good man but then the kindly old woman who's been

00:57:33
good? All her life was probably a nun.

00:57:35
He just her poorly and she said but I've been good my whole

00:57:38
life. He's like well maybe it's

00:57:39
something you do late do tomorrow.

00:57:41
Sorry and so Sucka go. So what is mine and she's dead?

00:57:47
So yeah, I think that I mean, it's see, it just seems like,

00:57:50
you know, No, again it goes back to him being very charismatic

00:57:54
and him saying this man is good, who he's good.

00:57:57
This woman is bad, but I've been good.

00:57:59
Maybe something you did later, yes, I'm she did later, it's

00:58:02
kill her and it's like, you know, and but yeah I mean it's

00:58:05
just something that you know, he could be bringing his he could

00:58:09
be being deceived and I think that, I mean, maybe maybe he/she

00:58:17
is using him to come back and In.

00:58:21
She's going to go about her own nefarious, business and get big

00:58:26
be rid of Harrow and just be like, okay, thank you, I'm gone,

00:58:31
you know, this is the interesting thing about that.

00:58:33
So if you think about the information, we learned in this

00:58:36
episode, we learn that Harrow used to be the Avatar of

00:58:40
conscious. Now, we see the kind of shit

00:58:42
construe has marked doing okay, enabling him to kill people

00:58:48
deceive people, whatever, whatever. so if he was conscious

00:58:52
Avatar first, and he was doing this kind of thing for khonshu,

00:58:59
I want to know how he became the avatar for I met, because if I

00:59:03
met is judging people based on the whole of their lives, like

00:59:08
the things that they have done are doing and have yet to do

00:59:13
Harrow, I do not feel like for khonshu to grab Harrow as his

00:59:19
Avatar feel like Harrell had to have had maybe somewhat of a

00:59:23
sketchy life to begin with because I don't think you can

00:59:27
take someone that's pure. And good and make them do the

00:59:31
things that we have seen Koshkonong Shumake Mark.

00:59:34
Do so my question is, if Harold had to do some of the same kind

00:59:39
of stuff under con shoes rule I guess for the better for the

00:59:44
better way to put it. How did he become a Mets voice?

00:59:50
As far as Doling out Justice? Because I feel like your skills

00:59:54
are probably not balanced. So how do you become the voice

00:59:58
for someone? Whose purpose is to judge people

01:00:03
based on their life that like that's kind of weird to me.

01:00:07
Well, hanako he probably repudiated him, he probably

01:00:12
kicked him out from being his Avatar.

01:00:15
He was left basically Godless and he stumbled across her or

01:00:21
she found him. I mean, let's face it.

01:00:23
One of the biggest tropes especially if you go back to

01:00:25
Misty lockleys Harold series Vandal Savage his Sighs.

01:00:30
Well, Stephen Stephen was involved in a blood Feud with

01:00:34
family. He went too far and his, his

01:00:40
horse, basically Harold names. Whatever basically said, I don't

01:00:46
know you more. It was it, I see you.

01:00:48
No more, I speak to you, no more.

01:00:49
I hear, you know, more like they didn't Trueblood.

01:00:51
So it could have been one of those scenarios where he

01:00:54
basically said we're done and you're on your own, get to

01:00:58
Steppin, he was wondering probably.

01:01:00
Alone in the desert. So we're in Egypt because you

01:01:01
know that's where it probably happened and she found him and

01:01:04
said you were not worthy of this but you're worthy of this and

01:01:09
said can you are I need for you to be my avatar?

01:01:13
And he obsessed accepted because he had nothing else to do.

01:01:15
Our nothing else or where to go. I mean, what do you guys say?

01:01:19
I think that that's acceptable. I think that's put best

01:01:23
possible. It just, you know, like I said,

01:01:26
it kind of threw me because I'm like, okay, chances are you did

01:01:29
some bad stuff Before khonshu even came into your life, I

01:01:33
don't know. Because even though yes he seems

01:01:35
charismatic, he seems caring. I also feel like that's not

01:01:42
that's not the total sum of who he is.

01:01:44
Like I really feel like we're going to see some more Sinister

01:01:48
behavior from him. Probably later on down the line.

01:01:51
But right now, we're only two episodes in their goal is to

01:01:56
make us look at this person and be Like well maybe he's not such

01:02:01
a bad guy. Well, I okay, this is not a

01:02:06
theory. So whatever every time every

01:02:10
time you start something less saying that it usually turns out

01:02:14
to be kind of theoretical. So, go ahead with your theory.

01:02:16
This is not a theory first because first amazing prison,

01:02:21
she can't talk to anybody. She can't recruit anybody.

01:02:25
She is locked up. Everything that Hera was doing.

01:02:30
His stuff that he has piece together from, either his own

01:02:34
research or conversations with constitute that a few things

01:02:40
consciously may have, you know, their slip them in their

01:02:43
discussions and he has piece together.

01:02:46
He doesn't know where I'm at, once he's just guessing where

01:02:50
I'm at once. So, when he says, oh, she just

01:02:54
wants to judge people. She really could just be really

01:02:57
wanted to get rid of everybody. Either me and he use the sizing,

01:03:02
the balancing, the scales and all that stuff.

01:03:04
That's something he's doing based on the way he thinks she

01:03:08
wants. Okay?

01:03:11
Okay. Because that secant cc is locked

01:03:14
away. She cannot reach out to anyone

01:03:19
at all. Like she's gone for all

01:03:22
intensive purposes. This is all Harold's doing.

01:03:25
So Harold. May be in for a surprise.

01:03:27
He doesn't he doesn't really know what she wants.

01:03:29
This is kissing. Okay, I can see that.

01:03:33
I mean, he may have part of it, but he doesn't know the whole

01:03:36
story. Okay, they put it away for a

01:03:39
reason. Okay.

01:03:42
Okay. But yeah, Stephen questioning

01:03:46
Harrow with, oh, so you're okay with killing kids like that

01:03:49
whole conversation. And it's funny because we've

01:03:52
talked about this before to the quote, unquote bad guys, or your

01:03:57
Jim Jones types, he's one of those people Kind of like you.

01:04:00
Okay, you're gonna drink the Kool-Aid that I'm serving you.

01:04:03
This is what we do and this is why we're doing it.

01:04:06
And you can see Stephen walking around the compound, just

01:04:09
looking at how everybody is behaving like one, everyone

01:04:14
seems to be there on their own accord.

01:04:17
Nobody seems to be hurt. Nobody seems to be doing

01:04:19
anything dastardly, except for the two cops that brought him

01:04:23
there. And you see once once Harrow has

01:04:26
them, they kind of just walk off like okay.

01:04:28
But It's one of those things where his demeanor does suck you

01:04:35
in and it makes you say, okay, you know what, maybe I've had

01:04:38
the wrong idea about him and then you stick your, you know,

01:04:44
you stick your cane into the ground and pull up all this

01:04:47
purple Essence and blah blah blah.

01:04:49
But anyway, let's go back to the girl and and and the Mandarin

01:04:57
because the funny thing about that is After that episode

01:05:00
aired, I happen to be on Twitter and I came across seemingly, use

01:05:06
post that he was like, yo, Disney.

01:05:10
What was that? That is so not Mandarin.

01:05:12
Like, I understand a word that they were saying, that is not

01:05:15
Mandarin. And then other people just

01:05:18
started saying, like yo, what the fuck is that?

01:05:19
Like I could go to I could do Rosetta Stone and come up with

01:05:24
better Mandarin than that and I was just like Like, okay, you

01:05:30
know how fans are and you know, they're going to pick up on some

01:05:34
things. Just like they picked up with

01:05:36
the fact that Stevens quote unquote, British accent is not a

01:05:40
real accent. I was like okay did they do that

01:05:46
on purpose to like throw us off to you know it's just one of

01:05:50
those things again where I feel like they're telling us one

01:05:55
thing but they're they're trying to make us believe something

01:05:57
else about Harrell and his, his whole people.

01:06:01
But yeah, that Mandarin thing was so funny because when

01:06:04
seemingly you said it I was just like oh okay, so I guess it's

01:06:10
not correct and then once I saw his tweet, Everybody.

01:06:15
Started tweeting about it. This is not Mandarin.

01:06:18
What kind of Lang who was The Language Coach?

01:06:21
And I was like, oh okay I mean it seems like a small thing but

01:06:27
it's a big thing because here's the thing, if you're going to

01:06:30
put that in there to have like the representation do it, right?

01:06:37
So I'm curious as to what made them like I don't know.

01:06:44
I don't know if it I don't know if that was a thing on purpose.

01:06:48
I don't know if they had a mandarin coach actually on the

01:06:50
set to say. Yeah it's my right I mean I

01:06:54
would think they don't because it made it in there and

01:06:57
everybody who speaks Mandarin is like, you know, No, it could

01:07:01
have called any number of the people who worked on some see

01:07:05
the come take it any number of those people live.

01:07:09
You know, right. Come on mean.

01:07:11
We already know they're contracted for Xiang XI 2 so

01:07:15
that means they're on the payroll.

01:07:16
Hey can you like translate this? And this is what we want to say.

01:07:22
It's only like two lines. You know.

01:07:29
Yaki tuna. My accent.

01:07:30
Sorry actually sounds like it's supposed to sound, right?

01:07:34
Because apparently none of it was like discernible I don't

01:07:41
know. But yeah, when you said that

01:07:42
Mike, I was like, nope! Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope,

01:07:44
nope, nope, no. But anyway, so at this point in

01:07:50
the story like I said, Harrow is giving Steven the pitch he's

01:07:56
telling him about this is what we're going to do and this is

01:07:59
what I'm trying to do and Steven is almost.

01:08:02
It's almost like he's buying it until he gets to the part where

01:08:05
he's like. Okay.

01:08:06
So you guys judge people Make something they haven't done yet

01:08:13
and this could apply to children to yeah.

01:08:16
No, I don't think I want to be a part of this, right?

01:08:20
And then later comes in and she's got the Scarab And then we

01:08:26
get like, the whole big fight, chasing whatever.

01:08:30
First of all, Layla is a badass. Let's just put that out there.

01:08:36
Layla is a badass, and we only see her fight in just a little

01:08:39
bit in this episode but she's a badass.

01:08:45
Um, even when she gets to a point where she has to fight

01:08:49
this invisible beasts, that is chasing after Steven.

01:08:53
Like she's looking, she's looking at Steven like to.

01:08:56
What are you talking about? You see him being thrown around.

01:09:00
You see him being jerked and you still have like a little bit of

01:09:05
disbelief about it. Like what are you doing?

01:09:08
Why are you acting like that? People confuse me this whole

01:09:11
episode and I know it's because they couldn't see I think that

01:09:15
that may have been another Jackal.

01:09:17
Maybe but guess what? Look like it was a jackal.

01:09:21
Oh yeah. Okay.

01:09:22
I see it in background but they couldn't see jackal jackal

01:09:26
exactly. Yeah.

01:09:28
I'm just saying, you know, we could be dealing with a whole

01:09:30
bunch of stuff. Did we are in Egypt or or, you

01:09:34
know, dealing with Egyptian stuff so it could be, you know,

01:09:37
I don't think she's ever, ever been around him when something

01:09:40
like that has happened. She had to know something

01:09:43
because she told him. Some of the soup, right?

01:09:47
But he probably has used the suit in doing some of the things

01:09:50
he was supposed to be doing. I don't think he's ever had a

01:09:52
confrontation with her. Oh, we're here.

01:09:55
Who calls the Jackal. Okay.

01:09:58
But when everybody sees it and not, not just Leila when they're

01:10:05
in the street fighting and he's being thrown into a bus, he's

01:10:10
being thrown into a wall, he's literally being tossed around

01:10:13
and like, It up in the air, people are just standing around

01:10:17
looking and keep they keep walking.

01:10:19
It's kind of like it's kind of like how people always talk

01:10:23
about New York. Like in New York was strange.

01:10:25
Shit happens. And just kind of walked past

01:10:26
like whatever. That's kind of the vibe I got

01:10:29
here like gee, I really see. Strange enough things in London

01:10:32
that this will be a thing. But then I forgot.

01:10:35
This is part of the MCU. Yeah, but didn't someone say is

01:10:40
he having seizures? Yes.

01:10:42
So, one day I was drunk. Oh, he's drunk fighting.

01:10:47
I have seen people drunk fighting before.

01:10:50
It's never looked like that. It's never been that clean.

01:10:53
It's never been that precise. It's always very sloppy.

01:10:57
It's always, very sad. I wonder, can we presume that?

01:11:02
Maybe some of these people have seen Fight Club and they were

01:11:04
just like, hmm. Maybe this is a fight club now,

01:11:08
you know what, I was thinking, like I said, this is part of the

01:11:11
MCU and we don't know where Moonlight fit It's in the

01:11:15
timeline yet but this is the same place that had a whole like

01:11:21
a whole chitarra ship come in at the University if I'm not

01:11:26
mistaken. So it's not like they haven't

01:11:29
seen aliens and strange things before.

01:11:32
So maybe that was the whole attitude like okay, he's

01:11:35
fighting something strange. I'm going to mind my business

01:11:38
and go over here because ya know, But float like a

01:11:44
butterfly, sting like a bee. That live was so amazing because

01:11:52
he's sitting there. And first of all, he's got on

01:11:56
this clean ass white suit. This white suit was amazing, we

01:11:59
sit at the top of the show suit was amazing.

01:12:04
He looks good in it and then of course, you know, he's he's

01:12:07
trying. I feel like she's trying to put

01:12:09
on airs for labor like yeah, I can do this, I can do this.

01:12:12
So he actually punches The Jackal and the Jackal goes

01:12:16
flying, he's like wait, oh, I think I kind of like this but

01:12:21
then of course, he commences to getting his ass beat because

01:12:24
it's Stephen fighting that Mark. But just watching all of this is

01:12:28
so interesting. First of all, how are you

01:12:30
keeping this white soup clean? You don't got hit by two cars

01:12:34
Cars. You've been slammed into a bus.

01:12:35
You've been slammed into a wall. Why are you still white?

01:12:39
Why are you still clean? This is anti stain.

01:12:43
I mean, is that? That's, that's, that's not easy

01:12:45
Scotchgard. Mystical is a mystical

01:12:48
ceremonial battlesuit. Start of the God.

01:12:53
Oh my God, just Falls away. View.

01:13:04
Little dirt. Snagging exactly.

01:13:06
Yeah. What's the deal?

01:13:06
What's a little dust if you give you can repel sand from the

01:13:09
Sahara? Yeah, let me do this Anakin.

01:13:12
You would have loved to have to like that could got right.

01:13:15
I do not even want to imagine Anakin having a suit like that

01:13:20
with his anger issues. No.

01:13:24
No, he just wanted for the, for the Antiques and repellent.

01:13:31
So is that? Because he hates saying because

01:13:33
it here your fans, I get it, I get it.

01:13:38
But let me tell you, when he checked with Steven changes back

01:13:45
into marker, you know, when he gets slammed into the school

01:13:49
bus, his I can't remember if he took his mask off or if it came

01:13:53
off. First of all, All you've got on

01:13:55
a super suit. You do not show your identity to

01:13:58
other people, you just don't do that.

01:14:00
But of course, again this is Steven.

01:14:02
But when he looks in the window and Marcus like, yo you need to

01:14:07
let me take the body back or else.

01:14:09
We're going to get killed and you're going to get Leila killed

01:14:11
and it's the Leila part that makes even say.

01:14:15
Okay, you know what, take the body and I gotta say every time

01:14:19
I see this suit start to wrap itself around him, I just want

01:14:24
to pause it and and watch it in slow motion to see how they are

01:14:30
doing that, because it looks so cool.

01:14:35
Just but I mean again brings up Imhotep Vibes when he started

01:14:40
regenerating his body you know. We like I said we're going to

01:14:43
make a lot of money references when we're talking about this

01:14:46
show. But it was just, you know, he

01:14:50
gets the he takes over the body and then of course the the moon

01:14:54
night suit comes out and he starts doing his fighting with

01:14:59
this Jackal who is running through the crowd and the crowd

01:15:04
is I'm there, like, you got a couple of people that it knocked

01:15:07
down to the ground. Obviously, it wasn't trying to

01:15:09
kill anybody in the crowd like that jacket was like puny

01:15:12
regular humans, whatever. But why, why why are you around

01:15:20
this so called like, you know, that there's something invisible

01:15:24
there. Knocking people on their ass.

01:15:26
Why are you sitting there surrounding surrounding it

01:15:29
trying to figure out what it is? Like, where is it?

01:15:31
What people are so stupid. But anyway, UK UK don't don't

01:15:42
even, you know, I mean, they're basically that basically NPCs

01:15:46
they're not playable characters, just just go around them and

01:15:49
knock them down and then get up and run away, but they make the

01:15:52
rest of us need sleep. So bad, he's knocking knock.

01:15:55
The he knocked the Jackal into a car and the car in the whole

01:15:59
front of the car caved in. And the person's like, uh, I

01:16:02
should call my that's call my insurance agent like dancing

01:16:05
dancing, really? That fazed at all from Having

01:16:08
their FrontRunner car caved in by nothing again.

01:16:12
Well, this is a world where the chitauri and Thanos have have

01:16:15
infected it. I like I said, I don't know

01:16:17
where in the timeline this video, but depending on where

01:16:21
this is, they also just saw Celestial in the sky to.

01:16:25
So you're right. You're right.

01:16:27
So there you go. Yeah, yep.

01:16:31
So they're probably just like, okay.

01:16:32
You know what? That does not concern me.

01:16:34
I'm Gonna Keep On Walking. That's true.

01:16:37
Exactly. I'm not trying to We're in the

01:16:38
sky. Yeah, but anyway, so they

01:16:42
finished writing this Jackal, he actually kills the Jackal, which

01:16:45
is cool. But in the midst, they realize

01:16:48
they don't have the Scarab anymore.

01:16:50
Like, Mark, I guess he had it still in his pocket and at some

01:16:53
point, it dropped out. And of course, Layla has it.

01:16:56
She's picked it up and she's trying to get that thing far

01:17:01
away from Harold. Like, I think Layla is at this

01:17:03
point. She's like, okay, you know what,

01:17:05
I think I've seen enough for the day like this.

01:17:08
Was not what I was expecting when I went to find my husband,

01:17:12
I was not expecting to get into a fight.

01:17:15
I was not expecting to see invisible, whatever's attacking

01:17:20
this person who looks like my husband, but is not my husband.

01:17:23
Yeah, I think I'm just going to take this little shiny thing and

01:17:26
get the hell out of Dodge. And then, of course, you know,

01:17:30
this is where Mark and Stephen actually have a conversation

01:17:36
because Mark, I mean, Stevens trying to Take the body back and

01:17:39
more, his like, you know, we're not going to do this because

01:17:41
this is what we have to do, and he tells him about con shoes

01:17:46
deal and then he also tells them about, hey, yeah.

01:17:49
I think khonshu is looking at Layla to be his next Avatar and

01:17:52
I will absolutely not allow that to happen.

01:17:56
So you know what? You're going to stay in there

01:17:59
and I'm going to go ahead and keep control of the body.

01:18:04
And of course they kind of go back and forth.

01:18:05
They go back and forth and you get to see Mark, you know, he

01:18:08
he's like stomping on the mirror to try to get away from Steven

01:18:13
or try to kind of banished Stephen from speaking to him.

01:18:17
And then the weird thing is, You see a reflection in the mirror?

01:18:27
And the way that that reflection is looking at Mark, he looks

01:18:32
angry and it looks like again a totally different Persona.

01:18:36
I don't think that was Stephen. That was somebody else, but the

01:18:40
guy you guys keep talking about the cab driver.

01:18:43
I feel like that's who that was and it's not being tells me and

01:18:48
tell me if I'm right. Lori of as far as from the

01:18:51
comics, something tells me that Mark is a Boy Scout.

01:18:56
Paired to this dude. Yeah, in some ways, you're

01:19:00
right. Okay, yeah, but yeah, he looks

01:19:04
really, really pissed. And then, of course, you know,

01:19:07
kind of shoe comes up and he's like, yeah, you told me that

01:19:10
Stephen was not going to interfere and Marcus like yo I

01:19:13
got control of the body. Now we're we're good and

01:19:17
conscious you of course he starts going into his hotel

01:19:19
again. I don't find him scary but some

01:19:21
of the stuff that he says, you know, he's like yeah you were

01:19:25
nothing more than a corpse will not How do you think you own

01:19:28
this body? Yeah.

01:19:29
No I own this body you need to do what I tell you to do.

01:19:34
You know, and, and they start talking about the Scarab and he

01:19:37
tells Mark he's like, yeah, so Harrow has that already.

01:19:41
He's going to find, I'm it's tuned.

01:19:44
So Mark was like, okay. You know what?

01:19:47
I'm going to have to get that Scarab back. and, you know, he's

01:19:53
like, I'm gonna have to do whatever I have to do and

01:19:56
conscious like you, okay, we need each other, so let's do

01:19:59
this. He was like, let me tell you,

01:20:04
you need to do exactly what I tell you to do when I tell you

01:20:07
to do it because if I have to go and find the Avatar, another

01:20:10
Avatar you're not going to like who I picked.

01:20:13
So it's kind of like he's dangling.

01:20:14
That whole Layla's gonna be my next Avatar thing.

01:20:17
Which again now I want to know like how con she chooses.

01:20:22
His avatars, but I guess we'll find that out later because the

01:20:26
next thing was probably the best scene in the hole.

01:20:32
Because we get Mark, at least I think that's Mark, he's sitting

01:20:40
in a hotel room in nothing but his underwear just sweaty

01:20:46
glistening drinking alcohol room is kind of sort of in shambles.

01:20:51
The mirror is broken so I'm guessing once he got there,

01:20:53
maybe him, Steven had another either him.

01:20:57
And Stephen had another argument about who had control of his

01:21:00
body. Or the third person that I think

01:21:02
is there took control of the body, because the way he's

01:21:05
looking at the mirror, I feel again, I don't feel like that

01:21:08
was Stephen in the mirror that might have been marking the

01:21:11
mirror. Looking at this new person being

01:21:14
like right shit. But, you know, he goes to the

01:21:19
window. He opens up the curtain and

01:21:21
there are the pyramids of Giza. We are in Cairo.

01:21:26
I'm like, okay. So we possibly have the third

01:21:30
personality. Do y'all think these are the

01:21:33
only three personalities that we're going to see in this show.

01:21:37
Okay, okay, yeah, so I think there are three main ones.

01:21:40
Yeah, okay. Well do you think there anymore?

01:21:42
Yeah, we're not we're not going to get anything else, okay.

01:21:46
I mean we probably can't it's only a six-episode series they

01:21:49
literally would not have time to do all of this.

01:21:51
I think that I've, yeah, I'm think I'm with you on that.

01:21:55
I'm that I'm going back and thinking about it.

01:21:58
I think that because you heart the thing about it is like the

01:22:02
mark that was sitting on the floor by the bed was drinking

01:22:06
like pulling liquor straight out of the bottle.

01:22:08
It doesn't seem like a mark thing to do is definitely not

01:22:11
Steven thing to do but it doesn't really seem like a mark

01:22:14
thing to do and just to be kind of like on the floor like of

01:22:18
course, like half-naked. Like we don't know what that

01:22:22
was. I don't think he had anybody

01:22:24
with him. But again you see like the you

01:22:26
see shattered glass on the A floor.

01:22:28
You see like a tray on the floor.

01:22:32
The mirror is broken again. So it's kind of like there was

01:22:35
some kind of struggle there and I feel like that might have been

01:22:40
between Mark and whoever this third personality is because

01:22:43
again it seems like this third personality will probably be

01:22:48
even more dangerous than Mark, if that makes sense.

01:22:51
I don't know how I know that just looking at what we saw in

01:22:54
this episode, but just the way that he was looking, Get Mark

01:22:58
through the mirror after Mark, you know, kind of, you know,

01:23:02
smash the mirror, trying to get Stephen out of his head.

01:23:05
It's kind of like, oh, okay. So you want to be an asshole and

01:23:09
King, Stephen that. We're here comes the bigger

01:23:11
badder asshole. And I'm letting you know that

01:23:14
I'm here in your days are numbered.

01:23:15
That's kind of how I read that scene, right?

01:23:19
Because again, we, you talked about it earlier and I talked

01:23:22
about last episode about the way that he portrays such

01:23:26
differences in these two characters.

01:23:28
Has that we've seen so far the third character, even just

01:23:31
seeing him in the mirror. I felt like that was somebody

01:23:36
completely different. So I don't know if the waiver

01:23:40
the way the room with was, like, completely wrecked that that's

01:23:44
not a Mark or Stephen thing, right?

01:23:47
Either I am a bit room, was in shambles and like, I feel like I

01:23:52
again, I feel like that might have been Mark and this third

01:23:57
person, that was the Personalities name is it?

01:23:59
Jake. Okay, so I feel like that might

01:24:02
have been Mark and Jake may be fighting for control over the

01:24:06
body. You know, like, Mark is trying

01:24:09
to keep Jake, push down to the, you know, to the backseat.

01:24:15
So, so to speak. And he's steadily fighting

01:24:20
trying to get control. Nothing.

01:24:21
Stephen is just kind of like, you know what, I'ma let y'all

01:24:23
handle this. I'm not part of this.

01:24:25
That's just kind of how it came across to me.

01:24:29
I can agree with that. I think that I mean, if Laura,

01:24:35
can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that when it comes Comes

01:24:38
down to it. Jake is the fighter of the

01:24:41
three. Like he's the one that is

01:24:43
actually the one that handles the rough stuff I believe you're

01:24:48
correct. Yes.

01:24:49
Yeah. And like to but let's see.

01:24:51
Then conversely. Stephen is supposed to be the

01:24:54
smooth one. Like that's why the he has the

01:24:56
mr. Night suit.

01:24:58
Like he's supposed to be the one that's like Suave and

01:25:00
sophisticated and then it's like, Mark is like the rugged

01:25:03
Explorer. And I mean, they each have this

01:25:07
like when one Them takes over. There's the specific reason like

01:25:11
there's a role to be played. So when I'm going to take over

01:25:13
and fulfill that role then they'll go back.

01:25:16
Hmm. So that's what Jake's role is to

01:25:18
definitely basically and enforce her or a poor.

01:25:22
Like the guy that you know that God is here to punch you in the

01:25:25
face, make you do something make you do, right?

01:25:27
So he's probably the killer of the three, not just Mark like we

01:25:31
know Mark probably had a hand in some of that but some of the I

01:25:35
don't know, some of the brutalities kind of like I don't

01:25:39
know, like I said, when you look at the way that those two that

01:25:44
Mark in that mirror image are I feel like Jake is going to be

01:25:48
the one that is out of control. Like, Mark he does the killing

01:25:53
he does the fighting, but I think he can control it like he

01:25:56
knows not to go, too far. That's just kind of the vibe I

01:26:01
get from his character and I feel like Jake is going to be

01:26:03
the one that's like the unhinged one.

01:26:05
He's gonna he's gonna be the one that's like OK, at all costs.

01:26:09
Yeah, you're probably right. I think you're right about that.

01:26:13
I mean time will tell but yeah, I'm really enjoying this series.

01:26:18
Yeah, this is this is what I think I think by the end of it

01:26:21
all is this my actually be my favorite series?

01:26:25
I'm actually been seeing a lot of people say that and then I

01:26:28
have seen some people who are like, I'm so confused, I don't

01:26:30
know what's going on but yeah, it is, you're right, yeah, even

01:26:43
if you pay attention to first time, you probably have to watch

01:26:45
it another time or two, just to get of the little things.

01:26:48
This is like especially because I think if I didn't know better,

01:26:53
I think that they're Going to try to sneak before they

01:26:56
actually reveal Jake. I think they're probably going

01:26:59
to try to sneak little bits of things.

01:27:02
Little bits of part, little Parts where that could be Jake.

01:27:06
Like, if you, if you see him, see Mark, just sick kind of

01:27:09
sitting there and looking around, like, that could be Jake

01:27:13
or it's like, if he doesn't say anything because he's already,

01:27:17
he's already set up. Where I'll, you can tell which

01:27:21
one is which by their accent, like British accent.

01:27:25
Steven Reich. A regular accent smart.

01:27:27
So there's so now I'm kind of I'm kind of picking up on

01:27:32
auditory Clues where if I hear an accent that's kind of

01:27:36
different. I'm like oh he might be he's

01:27:38
doing Jake is doing Jake so it definitely keeps you on your

01:27:42
toes. Yeah so Layla has the Scarab

01:27:50
well no excuse me, Harrell has the Scarab and I said labor

01:27:53
early Harold. Has the scared.

01:27:56
He's going to release our meant Layla has taken off.

01:27:59
We don't know where she is, but she had this look on her face,

01:28:02
like yeah. You know what?

01:28:03
This is not what I signed up for and then we have Mark /.

01:28:10
Stevens slash whoever in Cairo, So it's kind of like, mmm.

01:28:16
I have a feeling this is about to get really interesting now,

01:28:19
because you're in Egypt, like again, going back to the mummy.

01:28:26
This is where all the shit happens, but I get a spicy no

01:28:29
harm ever came from reading a book or playing with a Scarab.

01:28:33
No, don't open the Scarab, you know, but at least we haven't

01:28:38
seen, we haven't seen a real Scarab just kind of break off

01:28:42
that gold and just kind of dig itself into somebody's body.

01:28:44
So that that's a good sign. I know speaking of weirds, why

01:28:49
haven't we just destroyed the scare?

01:28:51
Why? Why have we melted it down

01:28:54
Brook, nothing Sweeney. Really haven't had time to do

01:28:56
that because if you think about it, Steven doesn't even know

01:28:59
what the Scarab is. He's just like, okay, really

01:29:03
pretty shiny thing. Somebody else wants it, maybe

01:29:07
let me try to hide it. Like, I think with everything

01:29:10
going on in his life right now, like him, trying to figure out

01:29:13
what's going on. Why he's blacking out, why he's

01:29:17
running from so-called invisible.

01:29:19
Things on the video camera, just losing his job.

01:29:22
I think he has a lot going on that.

01:29:24
He's not really thinking about it in that sense like, oh, I

01:29:26
need to destroy it and then again, We see Steve like Stephen

01:29:33
Prouty. I don't know what's going on in

01:29:35
his life and why he's not Stephen obviously should have

01:29:38
been an archaeologist and I don't think that he would

01:29:41
destroy something like that because we see he has such

01:29:45
reverence for those things, you see it, when he's giving the

01:29:49
impromptu tour in the museum, the way that he kind of just

01:29:53
looks at everything, all the stuff in his apartment, you

01:29:56
know, the cop picked up a pyramid.

01:29:57
He was like, what is this? And he was like, Miss

01:30:00
paperweight, but it was very clearly a paperweight with, like

01:30:05
writing. And you know, he has such

01:30:08
reverence for these things that I don't think he would destroy

01:30:12
it. He would probably try to find

01:30:14
somewhere to hide it, but I don't think he would destroy it.

01:30:18
Layla, of course, if she is from what I gather from what she

01:30:22
said, it appears like, she might be a scavenger or she might be

01:30:27
somebody who's into getting those types of things.

01:30:30
Things and I don't know. I know Lori said something about

01:30:33
her father used to be an archaeologist so again she may

01:30:36
have a healthy respect or reverence for those types of

01:30:39
things, she probably wouldn't think to destroy it.

01:30:44
But again she still kind of sort of on the fence up until the end

01:30:47
of this episode about what the scare really means and why it is

01:30:51
so sought out, you know, Marc Marc knows with the Scarab use.

01:30:57
I agree. Yes right.

01:30:58
Cognac. The the moon God would have told

01:31:04
ya, it was so this is probably why the storage container was

01:31:08
the best place to hide it, because he was the only one that

01:31:12
knew that it was there, you know?

01:31:15
And, and Stephen just kind of stumbled upon it.

01:31:19
Yeah, see see the wife strikes, me going back, a few sentences,

01:31:23
the wife strikes me as someone who is not a scavenger but

01:31:28
there's this popular profession called Antiquities dealer.

01:31:32
Where I get the idea that she sort of one of those people that

01:31:35
deals heavily on the black market, or the gray market and

01:31:39
can find you something. I mean, one of the biggest

01:31:41
things that the that British people did back in the day,

01:31:44
especially the Victorian era is that they would pay huge amounts

01:31:48
of money. To acquire a mummy and have it

01:31:50
transported back to England and they would pop it up in their

01:31:52
living room and oh I have a mummy, you know, I mean that

01:31:55
that type of stuff is what I see her either doing or used to do

01:32:00
or very close ties to people who do that type of thing.

01:32:03
So, the Scarab would be interesting to her from a

01:32:06
financial aspect as in, who's going to be the biggest, you

01:32:09
know, by okay, that makes sense. What I?

01:32:11
Yeah, but I'm sorry. I don't care how much money I

01:32:14
have. There's no way indeed hail.

01:32:18
No, I'm going to anybody's mummy in my living quarters anywhere.

01:32:22
I have seen way too many. No, absolutely not.

01:32:25
Absolutely, not ashes in my living room.

01:32:28
Seriously, I'm just that freak out.

01:32:30
No. Hmm.

01:32:32
No ocean. No.

01:32:34
But what you said makes sense? Lauren, I think I think you're

01:32:38
right. I think she may be an

01:32:39
Antiquities dealer just from what I.

01:32:42
Yeah I think you're right but um So yeah, I don't think she would

01:32:47
destroy it. Of course, Harrows, not going to

01:32:49
destroy it, and nobody else has really had it at this point.

01:32:55
Like I said, Stephen would look at it and be like, okay, we need

01:32:59
this, you know, do or we're not going to destroy this.

01:33:02
This is a piece of History. Maybe like again, he really

01:33:06
doesn't know what the Scarab is or what it's what it means for

01:33:10
Mark. I kind of wonder if he hasn't

01:33:14
destroyed the Scarab because he's looking at it as leverage

01:33:21
like, oh, I may need to keep this or oh, if costume is really

01:33:26
getting on my nerves. Maybe I can find a man and get

01:33:29
him booted out or, you know, maybe he has that kind of plan

01:33:33
in the back of his mind because we already know, yes, he's under

01:33:36
conscious control for the most part but he also feels like

01:33:40
khonshu is gunning for For Layla and we've already seen he said

01:33:45
he said he's not going to let that happen.

01:33:48
So if you have to go against a guy who is controlling your body

01:33:53
to keep him from going after someone you love, what's going

01:33:57
to be the best weapon against that.

01:34:00
God may be another God. So maybe he's keeping the Scarab

01:34:05
around for that purpose. I don't know.

01:34:08
Again, we're only two episodes in so I don't know.

01:34:12
It's gonna be interesting to see what Harold does which is no

01:34:15
because I mean we know he's going to look for our Med.

01:34:17
I just want to know how accurate like is that scared.

01:34:20
Really going to lead him to her body.

01:34:22
Yeah I don't know how he does it.

01:34:27
I mean, But we already know that raising Raising Dead gods or

01:34:33
imprison. God's is not a smart thing to

01:34:36
do. Yeah.

01:34:37
They were imprisoned for a reason.

01:34:41
The advance our work. If all the gods got forgiven and

01:34:46
said, yeah, you got to be put away.

01:34:48
It's those probably, a good thing is probably not a good

01:34:51
thing to bring them out. Leave them put away, just like

01:34:55
people, go exploring and find things and find boxes and open

01:34:58
them. Like, Like put it back.

01:35:02
What's wrong with you? Like there's the people hide

01:35:05
things away in dark dark and dank caves tunnels under water.

01:35:11
Like they locked away for a reason for local, trying to

01:35:14
figure out locks and open doors and stuff when they stopped just

01:35:19
know Jesus. Mmm, why there's no point to it?

01:35:24
I guess, we'll figure out why next episode.

01:35:26
Because, like I said, he's at He's an Egypt.

01:35:30
We know that's where Harrow is going.

01:35:31
So I think he may have gotten their little bit easier than

01:35:35
Harold did because I think Khan should just kind of was like

01:35:37
here take my hand whoosh. He's look, guys, you can

01:35:42
teleport. I mean, that's his thing.

01:35:44
He's a trouble. He's the god of travelers to

01:35:47
yeah. So, so let's be like I'm come

01:35:51
here. Here here here and here so it's

01:35:55
about to get interesting fussy. Hmm.

01:36:01
I'm looking, I'm looking forward to it.

01:36:05
I just I'm just shout out to this show for just kind of

01:36:10
creating a new version of Shaggy's, it wasn't me.

01:36:13
Like let's just save money camera, it wasn't me but it is

01:36:17
like We're this the point where I need to end the show is this.

01:36:22
The point is very bad note. I'm just saying anybody have any

01:36:30
final thoughts about Moon night, after he might take it.

01:36:35
