Diana finds out the disturbing truth behind her parents' deaths. The Congregation is thrown into chaos as Knox's accusations against Matthew causes conflict for its leader. Sophie's visions become more clear to Agatha, as she figures out to whom the statue must go to. Knox's secrets are revealed by unlikely sources, resulting in a different reaction than he'd hoped for. The Congregation delivers a message to Diana, and Matthew sends a response of his own back. As Matthew and Diana's new bond is put to the test, Diana's magic begins to reveal itself more and more.

So let's start from the top Matthew and Diana.

They arrived in France. They go to set tour, which is

Matthew's ancestral home. And we finally get to meet

Matthew's mother, which she's been referenced in the previous

episode. And her name is Isabel de

Clermont. And Isabel is not thrilled it

playing hostess. Like it's very evident on her

face. Matthew gets there.

He makes very proper introductions to Diana.

And to his mother is about turns around.

She walks back in the house. I'm like, oh, this is gonna be a

tough sell. So she's not pleased at all.

We also meet Martin, who is another vampire, who lives in

the home, and she appears to be a housekeeper or companion, or
00:01:50
someone who's just been part of the family.

For a while, her reception to Diana's a little bit more

friendly, but still not quite accepting.

And they go to Diana's rooms or they go to Matthews Tower.

First of all, this do lives in a castle that's got seven towers.

And as far as I can tell, it's only Isabel and Marta that lives

there. And now, Matthew, that's a lot

of space for three people. No, but, I mean, if Marquez

Marquez, Vampire. Then she can clean everything

really quickly. So we'll just needed.

So it doesn't really get that dirty look like, you know, just

moving really quick from room to room and I really feel for Diane

because like, since Michelle was white and when I went to go see

your dad, it was the same thing like the glare that looking down

his nose and the sizing up that stuff to go through.

And it's like even when she said when she tried to speak old

French tour and Diana looked at Like, like she had no idea what

she was talking about. And she said, she didn't even

speak old French. She's just a ruse.

She only speaks English. And new French.

And I was just like, damn your and we see that.

But yeah, it's kind of like, I don't think Matthew would have

gotten the same kind of reception.

think it was just the, oh, he brought a girl home because

at Matthew as the Playboy type, he doesn't seem to come across

And, you know, he also he kind of mentions his stepfather

again, Philippe. And when Diana asks him about

Philippe's death, Matthew mentions to her that he was

killed during World War Two, but that's pretty much all he'll say

about it. And then he leaves Diana.

So she can get some rest and then you see Matthew approaching

a lot during the house and his mother appears behind him, you

know, very specifically saying, Saying she wants that door

locked while she is here. And again, you you feel a little

bit of the hostility that she has towards Diana.

And in this exchange we find out that the locked doors

Philippe's, it goes to his office.

And Matthew asks for Access so that he can do some work and we

find out that Philippe was killed by witches.

And this is one of the reasons why Isabel has such hostility

towards die. Anna not that Diana had anything

to do with it, but it's kind of one of those things where just

because she's a witch right now, as far as Isabel is concerned.

She's a representative of her whole species so which is killed

my husband. You are which there for you

pretty much killed my husband. That's kind of the way she's

approaching it and Matthew doesn't like this version of his

mother. And he said something about it

in a conversation, they have later on, but we'll get to that.

Diana is having these strange dreams.

Again. She has another spider dream

where she wakes up, covered in spider, webs, but the thing

about this dream is she has a dream about her mother.

And in this dream, her mother standing in the window.

She's bloody the way that she looks from the murder scene

photos and Calling Diana's name and Diana reaches out to her.

And of course, she sees the spider webs and she wakes up and

she's kind of she's like, in a Zone.

She's it's weird. She comes out of it and she is.

Naturally startled. But also I think she's trying to

figure out like, I don't know if she's having visions.

I don't know if something is trying to warn her about

something but it's just that's the second time.

She's had one of these dreams, and we don't really have any

context behind what's causing the dreams, you know, at first,

when she had the dream in the last episode.

I thought that that was something that was happening to

her because of the book. And now I'm not, so sure.

Because she's got all this other stuff going on, you know, the

weave, their webs, they stay. They stay in one spot and have

manifestation of letting her know which way she needs to go,

mother, who we met in the last episode.

She is actually the leader of the demons and I'm going to go

to this little Conversation. Because in the grand scheme is,

it kind of doesn't seem like it would be important.

But given something that happened with situ in the last

episode. I thought, you know, that's

something really specific to put in the conversation and in the

set to has like this brief look on her face.

She made a comment to Rico when he talked about the

responsibility of administration of the congregation passing on

to all of the Elder male members in his family like is a very

male-dominated organization. And I don't know, I was thinking

about the fact that Anthony you were saying that you feel like

even though situ is working with Knox.

Now you feel like she's going to be one of those characters that

turns and for some reason I feel like this whole male dominance

thing is going to be the thing that turns her, you know and

having that conversation there just kind of Out there in the

open like that. I was like, oh y'all are

dropping this one of those little hints again, like like

this conversation is going to be very important and in a later

dancing and then he puts on another record and ask Diana to

set this up is supposed to be a very kind of light-hearted scene

and Diana tells Matthew. She doesn't know how to dance.

And, of course, they start dancing and she's clumsy.

She did you know, she trips over his feet and, you know, it's

awkward and then just gradually, you start to see.
