‘Harry Potter’ at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards

The 2011 MTV Movie Awards delivered on its promise to bring a Deathly Hallows clip to fans – although it was not nearly as “new” as they promoted.

Actress Emma Watson introduced the barely 60-second clip of Harry walking in the Forbidden Forest to Voldemort, which only included two never-before-seen shots: one of Hagrid, bound by ropes shouting a distraught “Harry? NO!”; the last shot of the clip showed a flash of green light at Voldemort shoots the Killing Curse at Harry.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 was nominated in six categories; however, the only win came for actor Tom Felton, who won the Best Villain Award for his portrayal of Draco Malfoy.

You can find the complete list of nominees and winners at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards website.

  1. I can’t wait for the finale. It will be bitter-sweet as my family has grown up with Harry Potter. Both our sons, learning to read the first books and growing taller to attend Dragoncon. It’s become a family gathering!

Glad for their well deserved popular recognition in the award nominees.

    ciao… G. D. Dent
