The Grown-Up Fangirl has been away for the past few days, dealing with health issues that resulted in gall bladder surgery. I’m doing bettter, and have come back with some great updates for DragonCon goers!
New guests have been added to DragonCon’s guest list, and another has been hinted at, but not yet confirmed. First up is one of my favorites, Jason Momoa, who played the character Ronan Dex in the SyFy series Stargate: Atlantis. He has also been chosen to play the title character in the reboot of Conan the Barbarian.

Joining Momoa from the SG:A series will be Jewel Staite, who played Dr. Keller in the series and is also well known to Firefly fans as Kaylee.

For fans of the ABC Series V, we will get to see Anna and Lisa in the flesh, as both Morena Baccarin and Laura Vandervoort will both be in attendance. Baccarin also had large roles on the Firefly and Stargate: SG-1 series, and Vandervoort played Clark Kent’s Kryptonian cousin on Smallville. They join cast member Joel Gretsch (Father Jack), who was confirmed a few weeks ago.

Golden Globe and Emmy winner Linda Hamilton will also be in attendance. She is mot widely recognized as Sarah Connor from “The Terminator” series of movies.

Two new additions to the Star Trek track include Robert O’Reilly, who portrayed the Klingon Chancellor Gowran on Star Trek: TNG, and J.G Hertzler, who portrayed the Klingon General Martok on Star Trek: DS9.

Richard Hatch, who starred in both the old and new versions of the Battlestar Galactica series, will also make another appearance at Dragoncon. He was the first celeb I got to meet at my very first DragonCon in 2007, and my interaction with him has set the standard for everyone else I meet at cons. He is a great guy to talk to and very gracious to his fans.
As for possible-but-as-yet-unconfirmed appearances, actor Mark Sheppard (who Supernatural fans have grown to love/hate as the demon Crowley) tweeted this morning:
@Mark_Sheppard I have just been invited to Dragoncon!
May his be just the first of more invites for Supernatural attendees!!!
Mark Sheppard is a double guest as he was also on Firefly… I’m really hoping though that D*Con starts owning up and inviting some SPN people! Jeezy Creezy.
I met Richard Hatch at Babel Con in Baton Rouge and again at Con du Lac in Lake Charles, LA. He’s a nice guy. 🙂
I just found your blog and I love it!! I hope you post more. I’m a Harry Potter fan myself and I can’t wait for Dragon*Con. This will be my second year going.
Thanks for the comments! Make sure you find me at Dragon*Con and introduce yourself! 🙂
